  1. But I very much doubt selling off the assets individually will make more for the creditors, as has been discussed on another thread. The combined assets, maybe minus Jackson's Farm, would fetch more as a going concern (i.e. football club). In the present market, I can't see how a stadium of no use to anyone (except maybe the council) which would need demolition if sold to developers and which is also geotechnically unsound (i.e. built on contaminated ground in a sh*tty area) would fetch much, then Staplewood and Jackson's Farm have planning restrictions so I am told, Academy Lodge...not worth bucket loads. Fry will know this, hence trying his hardest to stretch out and thrash out a deal, if previous mistakes have been made my Fry/The Creditors. As always, we know very little so most is speculation embelished from tiny snippets of info. but I very much doubt liquidation will make more money for Barclays and Aviva. The more genuine, moralistic (smaller) creditors I feel most sorry for as they may walk away with nothing. The players will effectively be redundant and walk for free, to possible more lucrative contracts with high signing on fees. Who knows?!
  2. Classic! LMAO
  3. "No great movement designed to change the world can bear to be laughed at or belittled. Mockery is a rust that corrodes all it touches.” [Milan Kundera - Czech writer and playwright in case you were wondering] Sums up about 95% of your posts. Corrosive nonsense! :smt075
  4. Totally agreed. I am bemused as to Frank's refusal to acknowledge or commit commendation purely on a cynical belief the report is false. I don't think even the Echo would make up a story like that. Also, he hasn't boasted or trumpetted about it. He's learnt (possibly) from previous mistakes and kept a level of humility (take not board predecessors!) by not shouting about it and finally employing some discretion. Whilst Crouch has made mistakes and been outspoken and over-emotional, he deserves credit and applause for helping our club out in it's hour of need. Many have suggested they would help (and earn large sums, many have made tens to hundreds and thousands from the club) Saints, others have not donated nor even wished to donate (don't see Wilde and Lowe's names on the donated over a 1k list! If I actually cared and was Lowe, I'd at least donate just over a grand just for the PR but let's not bring his name up anymore - we know he doesn't give a f*ck about Saints, loathes the supporters and is as tight as a*seholes!) Sorry to bring up past names, zzzzzz. Just occured for all those idiots defending the indefensible Lowe, they can't even have the backbone to admit Leon's done a good thing. No other f*cker seems to put the words into action in the sign of £s! Actions speak louder than words!
  5. You beat me to it. Unreal. Ok, Brighton's nightlife and shopping is much more exciting than Southampton but we're still fairly comparable. What the f*ck is the problem with investing in Southampton Football Club?! Local Council related problems we don't hear about (re: potential development), Previously shareholders and chairmen...why is it seemingly so impossible for a club with so much potential to be realised. Same as the city - it's a city waiting for something to happen...but it never ever does! GRRRR!!!! WHY? Is there more to it than meets the eye (as suggested, local authorities, planning dept. [who, are, to be fair - the biggest bunch of brainless idiots alive!], etc.) or is it just that no-one really likes Southampton that much?! It's very strange we have all our facilities, fan base, academy, location, stadium, etc...as well as a reasonable city with tons of martime history, marina (not executed as well as Gunwharf I hate to admit, see previous planner comment!), shopping and loads of green space. Could get much worse...you could live in Swindon or Middlesborough! Someone please...invest! Oh, and I do think the potential investors may be playing it wisely. Just to give my opinion in matters. I'd be more worried about new leaders of our club not having much business sense if they didn't try to thrash out the best deal with the administrator/creditors. If it means hanging on until the 11th hour (all be it, nerve racking) to save a few million or 2, then good on them. Proves they have business brains rather than potentially sp*nking a few million that could go into the club. I'd certainly not bow down to the pitiful likes of Barclays and Aviva (part of Norwich Union I believe - more t*ssers who penny pinch without morals - been that way since they got fleeced by the Hurricaines in '87!) Lucky we're not involved with creditors as unscrupulous as the Halifax! I despise the way these financial institutions have acted in recent years. Lead people easily into debt, then tighten the screws, more so no down to their own incompetency, whack huge charges and act without an ounce of empathy. No wonder they make such large profits! I do feel Saints were truly stitched but I do wonder if this was caused more from persons, rather than purely the financial position (i.e. awkward chairman rubbing the bank manager up the wrong way, we'll maybe never know & let's not go there) Digressed slightly, apologies. I agree though in essence. There must be something none of us know or WHY have so many people sheered away from our club?! It stinks of rotten haddock!
  6. Pop in and ask them their local charges! I wondered past their offices recently (which must be relatively new as I'd never noticed them before) and the thought did occur to me with Mr Fry being in charge of our football club. They're right next to those proficient bankers -The Bank of Scotland (the road adjacent to High Street (below Bargate) in Southampton. Hamtun Street/Castle Way.

The Skates success could so easily have been us if we had some f*cker actually with ambition and hunger for sporting success, rather than personal nest feathering t*sser! Too many have used our club as a business playground. We had ample opportunity, much longer than the Skates. Instead, we just chose to 'survive'. WOOOOO!!!! Inspirational. This is why we need new owners who are FOOTBALL FANS. It's soooo long overdue.
  8. Just to add a bit of speculation to finish off my day (and for Clapham! - Purely supposition - but I believe there are a couple of bids on the table (I think mentioned on here one was supposedly made Friday) which are being considered but another, more serious bidder (with much more financial weight) may have come in at this late stage. I believe Fry may have delayed matters a day or so (hence the press reports, buying time) to await (potentially) the party with the strongest financial backing to return with a bid (although it may be playing dangerous games or have made Fry nervous for fear this late approach could fall through while the initial bidders retract or lose patience). I know nothing of any takeover (NDAs serve a good purpose!). It seems a delicate and serious game only for those with a strong stomach for business deals. Good luck to 'em. Let's just hope we all prosper as a result and we find out what is really happneing to our beloved football club ASAP.
  9. To be honest, I agree with you. Don't be suspicious though as you couldn't get a stronger character for supporting the proviso, what goes around, coming around. Namely, Lowe and Wilde getting all the sh*t they deserve. Shameful, petty little men. They made their bed, now feel the sheer weight of displeasure and criticism from the good people of Southampton in response to that sheer disdain and contempt held towards the city's football community. Whilst I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of all the meaningless drivel being spouted by Lowe and Wilde (perpetuated by Crouch's inability to allow them to embarrass themselves alone, purely by Messrs Lowe and Wilde's sheer lack of humility in accepting blame), everyone attributable should be named and shamed. It just gets tedious hearing the same thing, over and over, 24/7. Especially today. I don't whole heartedly think the Chairman/Directors should be gagged but, at times, it does irritate me intensely. The thread was born from sheer tedium and complete frustration directly attributed to the egotistical fools who have all had a pop at running the "have a go" circus which is SFC. All the men fore-mentioned (and more - from execs, to non-execs, chairmen to directors) have played a key part contributing to our demise to League One (some more than others); almost total annihilation. However, Some points are clear - there was a media black-out during the past tenure, fans treated with contempt and bucket loads of hearsay and supposition as a result. Whilst the "he did it"...."No, he did it!!" handbag ethos is laughable, futile and pointless (hence the thread), there is some mileage in dredging out the facts. The truth. Out of interest. As some form of vindication for the contempt shown towards the fans. As a learning experiment and to avoid making such a comedy of errors ever again. The choice is yours? (Sorry if that sounds like The National Lottery ad!)Much like Dubai Phil suggested, maybe we should stop all the gossip and commission someone to compile an historical "forensic competency examination" of the SFC books, scrutinizing the management decisions, financial prudence and football intelligence of the recent Chairmen and Directors (spanning back 4 years or so). Solid fact, if that possible from such divisive figures. Now that would make good reading and it would be nice for some closure so we can dust ourselves down, put it down to one huge, long nightmare and look towards a rosey future...in a few seasons!
  10. WOOO!!! A positive thread...see how many posts we can keep this up *tick, tock*
  11. Or, he's doing his job and giving feedback when necessary and people should stop second guessing. Maybe you'll have some news by the end of this week and your concerns are fruitless. Lowe and his gang had a very anti Barclays stand point, much like yourself! Sour grapes?!
  12. Are you on a back hander from Lowe?! If this is true, it's pretty poor and lame & shows no PR skills from Leon but you're as bad as the directors/chairmen. Let it go. They've collectively trashed our club. Let's give up the "it's his fault more than mine!" school of thought! Pathetic!
  13. Ok, the title is a bit sensationalist but hey, we live in a tabloid world! *grunt* This question is probably a no brainer but - Who thinks the past directors should now let bygones be bygones and have some respect for the fans and the club and SHUT UP?! Whilst it was good to hear some home truths and to get a fuller picture on much of the supposition regarding the questionable antics of Lowe and Wilde (kept firmly behind closed doors), I believe priority should now be to rebuilding the football club, putting the past aside (after LEARNING from it) and looking to a fresh start with solid foundations (hoping the takeover is favourable to the club, the fans and, ultimately, the sport). Pretty obvious I know. We have (I hope) reached rock bottom. Clearly, we now need a spring board to boost us onwards and upwards. I am hoping from Askham to Lowe, Wiseman To Wilde, Hone and Hoos to Dulieu, Cowen to Crouch, Richards to Oldknow, etc. we are now free from those past directors and their restrictive shackles. Whilst many contributed positives to our club (for which I thank them), we have also endured a large percentage of negatives. All I hope is we finally receive that elusive financial stability we so deserve. Financial stability twinned with a fresh, new board of ambitious people that love the sport, not feathering their nests & massaging their egos. We deserve a board of football fans...with business acumen. It seems such a simple recipe but I believe these virtues have eluded Saints for the best part of 2 decades. :fball: I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of this school yard bantering between largely incompetent directors who have, collectively, run our club into the ground yet haven't the common decency to stand up and admit fault. Shameful. Here's to a brighter future...I hope. COYS. :smt041
  14. I wanted a half decent Chairman/Executive/Chief Executive/Executive/Finance Director/Director of Football/Manager - Mockles. I also wanted some nice presents for Xmas, to keep Pearson and build from last season and to avoid relegation this season. Sadly, in life, we don't always get what we wish for in life!
  15. That's soooooooooo funny!! Nice one. ;o)
  16. It makes you nervous when the Echo article mentions the Pinnacle Group and you google a Pinnacle Group that is a business involved with photocopiers!! *parp*
  17. Can't Wilde just shut the f*ck up and evaporate as no-one really gives a flying f*ck what he thinks, or who he wants to blame! Strewth! Media loving idiots, the lot of 'em.
  18. As bizarre as Manji, Prof, Nineteen/Sundance, Jonah, Nick, John B, the overtly antagonistic Bungle (with avatar expression to match his barbed comments), Alain, Esq.. You all defend the indefensible, for whatever insidious reason or wayward viewpoint you, collectively, share. I find it shocking that, even now, you meander on with the same warped beliefs. You are all happy to defend Lowe and berate Crouch with your outlandish comments and, frankly, bizarre opinions. You wouldn't see Israeli's rolling out the red carpet and giving a warm welcome to Josef Mengele upon opening a new orphanage in Tel Aviv. So, why (in slightly less harsh football terms) do so called fans of a football club defend the main catalyst responsible for the almost total annihilation of "their" beloved club?! Oh, I forgot...they blame the man who sat in the hot seat for a mere few months and who actually put his hand in his own pocket for the club (as opposed to filling his pockets - eh Guy, Rupert, Richards, Esq..) I'd not want these guys representing me in a court of law. They get laughed (or pelted with rotten fruit) out the court house! Retort away. :smt101
  19. And put it beside the Cloughie statue in Nottingham city centre! I've sometimes wondered how Brain Clough would have reacted to a clueless chairman like Lowe. I'd love to hear what Cloughie would say in response to Lowe's meddling incompetence...You'd pay good money to hear that tirade!
  20. He's always been in there! He can't leave. Something to do with the chain attached to the buckle of his zip faced mask!! ;0)
  21. Well, I'm pleased you sound positive & I back up the Matt in the West Country comment as 1 of my closest friends is also in the same golf tournament in Cornwall. Has been all wk. I did ask him to have a word if he got chance. I pray something good comes of it!
  22. Quell Jonah unplugging himself from Lowe so he's able to talk! Weird attitude of a supposed Saints fan to continually defend the culprit for running our club into oblivion...or do you still blame Crouch for his brief few steps into the middle of Lowe and Wilde's quagmire? You people that support and defend Lowe ought to hang your heads in shame. What a ridiculous viewpoint and bizarre attitude. Would you blame an inept copper for murder just because he carelessly sumbled onto a murder scene and messed up some evidence? Eventhough overwhelming evidence clearly pointed to a renown serial killer undeniably linked to this massacre (season), notorious for slaughtering his victims (clubs) & removing their heads (fanbase)? Random but...viable! So, your support SFC and Lowe. Glutton springs to mind. Under that logic, you'd proabably enjoy a nice cruise to Cowes with Captain Edward John Smith (if he were alive)...you could have sailed a couple of weeks back, for irony! :smt018
  23. I agree Weston. Also, if Lowe were to actually go to the Forest game, it may be just to hob-nob and, as a side issue, gain some perverse thrill knowing it may unsettle/upset the fans that have been so nasty and mean to him. Retribution may certainly fit his character. Again, that's purely supposition on a rumour with no basis whatsoever.
  24. Sorry if it's been said as I've not the time to search but am I right in hearing Jackson's farm has now been given to Barclays as payment for monies owed? According to Mary Corbett. [Whilst I say GIVEN, I do realise this is not until the process of admin has ended]
  25. Paul Ince is a t*sser! I'd rather have Jamie Redknapp. In fact, you do wonder when Harry speaks out (fair play to him) is he grooming him for football management?! Coppell wouldn't come to us I doubt, Cotterill wouldn't be a bad choice. We have to remember, it's League One, physical brute season 2010. Maybe we should bring back Sir Clive who could attract some big rugby players?! Kids pretty passing would result in sporting murder (and the remnants of our Dutch demise needs to be eradicated)
