Living in Staffordshire & working in the Black Country I'd have to say that Villa are the biggest club up here by a very long way but labour under their history. Wolves are way out in front in the "delusions of grandeur" stakes & both Stoke & WBA are down to earth, realistic fans. Baggies fans tend to be the most knowledgeable. BCFC are on suicide watch and both Walsall & Vale fans are rarer than hens teeth outside of small enclaves.

What has been noticeable in The Black Country is that more & more people are watching home games in the pubs & that both WBA & Wolves are starting to offer more inventive ticketing pricing to combat it. In response the pubs are offer better deals. A pub near my main base offers a free beer & then a 1/2 beer for every WBA goal and it's rammed to the rafters on match days, so much so that the landlord, ironically, now charges £1 to get in! When Wolves are playing it offers a 1/2 beer for every goal the opposition scores!
