  1. Why would they bother putting a bid in unless they know for sure via his agent that he would consider joining them. he is as good as gone once the freakish money is available to spend.
  2. Signing at least 1 player that is better than the current starter would be a start. Although I can see us signing a few cheap squad fillers that we can only hope aren’t needed. The new left back isn’t Included in thoughts here as he has filled a whole In the squad.
  3. and what injuries we sustain is the more likely to determine our season
  4. possibly but id still say he is marginally better than Djneppo and Redmond
  5. I'm guessing this criteria was pre Theo contract as well as I'm pretty sure he wouldn't fit in with it.
  6. honestly dont think he could be much worse than Redmond and Djneppo.
  7. No Southgate blew their one big chance.
  8. Surely we could offer Obafemi for free based on a lower valuation for armstrong. They also save on the 40% fee to newcastle. As long as the deals are legally separate newcastle wouldnt be able do anything but whine.
  9. Agree with this. Know where you are putting it before the walk from the centre circle and stick with it. Southgate said they had been practising all week so he must have known he was going to try that shit. Southgate's man management maybe world class but his in game management and ability to change his tactics to adapt to the oppositions changes is piss poor. I was sat in the Gods watching the second half unfold and it was obvious to me that we needed to match up the additional man in midfield. It seemed liked Southgate was desperately hoping we would by hope or prayer would hold on to the lead. making the required change after equaliser is unforgivable in my opinion. It was like watching saints FFS.
  10. maybe he would have gone the the way and kane didnt need the rebound. Who knows or cares!
  11. I want to know what @Matthew Le Godhas to say before I decide which of your opinions are correct 🙄
  12. You a,so forgot to mention that he is generally full of shit.
  13. That’s such wank comment. Yes plenty disagreed with the squad selection (including non saints fans) but can’t remember many (if any) saying they would boycott.
  14. Really? Germany have looked shit in 2 out of 3 games and are susceptible to pace. Best chance for England in my lifetime and I’m an old cunt
  15. Exactly this. Two defensive midfield players expected to provide the creative link through midfield. Negative dull football. I’d sack Southgate right now before we ruin yet another generation of top talent.
  16. exactly, yes he had a really decent game against Croatia (who have a really poor record over the last 9-10 games) but other than that every time ive seen him play he has been average. I don't recall many people saying he was a shoe in for England before that.
  17. It’s all subjective though isn’t. Yes Phillips had a great game but up to that gane he had been pretty average for England. Obviously he wouldn’t get a game as because he clearly rates Phillips ahead of him. Another manager may have thought differently and you know what there would have been a different outcome maybe better maybe worse. Great Football is about teams, partnerships and balance not often about individuals.
  18. I dont think I have seen anyone actually hit the target from a free kick in any game yet. Starts to show just how good JWP is at free kicks. Still can’t help thinking Southgate may regret not having a specialist in the side.
  19. I’m sure I read some where there is concern over an injury to K Phillips so surely JWP would be the obvious choice to replace TAA
  20. Of all the bollocks I’ve read on here, this is right up there
  21. Currently you can get 9/2 on relegation next season. Bearing in mind we are by far the worst side in 2021 that seems like a really generous price.
  22. Actually made me chuckle the film comment.
  23. Jwp, Luke shaw, oxlade chamberlain all recruited as 7/8 year olds. Not much of a stretch to suggest their parents would have put them at a London clubs academy if we had been going through admin and playing in L1 at the time. Why is that not plausible?
  24. If that was true then why do the top clubs fight over the most talented youngsters? There is a 2year period prior to administration and whilst in league 1 where parents would have definitely chosen other clubs over saints meaning for at least 4 years we would lose out on talented young players. That seems to tie in with the current 16-20 year old group that is terrible. You telling me that a 21 / 22 year old Adam Lallana wouldnt have played any games this season at Saints?
  25. The current crop would have been taken on as youngsters around the time we were in championship / league 1 and as such we probably didn’t have first pick of the top talent. Stands to reason we are going to have a bunch of duffers in the current wave. We returned to the prem 8/9 years ago so I would expect the 13-16 year olds will start to see better talent going through as opposed to 16-20 age group are likely to be mainly shit. just my logic being applies but sounds plausible 🤪
