  1. Deserves a run but given how early we dipped into the transfer market I would have expected us to be firing on all cylinders come the start of the season. In the first half of our opening two games we've looked like we're still playing pre-season friendlies. From what I've seen we've spent over £50m and look pretty much like we did for large parts of last season. Seems to be another manager who doesn't know his best 11, or the formation we should be playing, which is a bit of a worry. Still, it's early days. It's just incredibly disappointing to see the likes of Brighton, Bournemouth and Watford playing fairly decent football.
  2. .... And Brighton, and Watford....
  3. I know it's only early days, but having watched teams like Watford, Brighton and Bournemouth play far more attractive football, and look all together more at-the-races, I have to say we'll be bottom 6 this season, unless there's a major change. I really don't know what the problem is. We've got some decent players but whoever is in charge is seemingly incapable of getting them to click. Nobody seems to know our strongest team, which can mean only one thing. We've got too many average players who lack any cutting edge.
  4. Surely Gallagher would be a better option up front instead of Austin? At least he'd show some enthusiasm.
  5. Just leaving the ground. Same story as last week, opposition should have been 3 or 4 up by half time. Unless things improve drastically I won't be wasting my money watching that shower of **** this season. 2nd to absolutely everything. Couldn't deal with a number of Everton players so resorted to dirty tactics. Hoedt and Stephens were poor. Again, Ings looks like the only bit of class that we have.
  6. Looking at that lineup, I'm going for 4-0. :-(
  7. I wonder if he'll admit to making a mistake by starting 3 at the back when we get beaten at Everton on Saturday? ;-)
  8. This wages nonsense is unsustainable. The bubble will burst. I just wish it'd happen sooner rather than later so that we can focus on football rather than product placement, sponsorship deals, Cars, WAGS and Tattoos.
  9. I don't think we'll get anything there, but if he starts with 3 at the back then the result will certainly be worse.
  10. Songs for Ings.... The Sweetest Ing - U2 Every Little Ing he does is magic - The Police Wild Ing - The Troggs
  11. I'm not expecting us to get anything against Everton next week but if we go with 3 at the back they'll hammer us.
  12. Most of the stick he gets is justified based upon his past performances. Let's be honest, our last two managers haven't exactly got the best out of him. Hopefully, Hughes is going to help him become the player that we need him to be.
  13. Ings has to start. He'll be bang up for this.
  14. View from a Liverpool supporting friend... "You've got a good deal there if the way he played for us last year when he came back was anything to go by. We didn't want to sell him, he wanted to leave, which is a shame but he's better than warming the bench. Puts a shift in and is a nightmare for defenders. He doesn't give them a moment's peace. I hope he rebuilds his career and scores a bagful for you. He's had the worst luck with serious injuries possible. The commitment he's shown to comeback to the standard he has has to be a good sign. Plus, he's a local lad so his motivation will be sky high anyway. If only Sturridge had his guts."
  15. Sell injury plagued J-Rod for £12m and replace with injury plagued Ings for £16m. Great business. :-(
  16. I just did a google search to see if I could find anything. There was a breaking news link that said 'Danny Ings to stay at Liverpool' but when I clicked on it there was nothing there and now I can't find the link???
  17. Both Ings & J-Rod suffered serious injuries and never really found their past form. We sold J-Rod last year and it feels like we've replaced him 12 months later with somebody in a very similar position career-wise. I really hope he proves me wrong and that he will benefit from a fresh start.
  18. Our record for signing mis-firing strikers continues. One day one of these will come good. Just hope it's Ings. http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=52481
  19. It's a season long loan deal.
  20. I think he'll go and Ings will come in.
  21. Inclined to agree. Don't really see any value in the £50m we've spent. Another close season where I look at the business done by our closest rivals and wonder why we're still ****ing around hoping to get lucky with players who've never played at Premiership level. Would have preferred Gibson to Vestergaard and Ghezzal instead of Ely. To top it all I've a horrible feeling we'll let Targett or JWP go and then spunk £20m on Ings on deadline day when we should really go for Welbeck if we're going to spend that sort of money.
  22. I've a funny feeling that if he goes he'll get regular football and will be the next big thing. Another player that we'll regret letting go for less than we should have got.
  23. The only way I'd take the money for him is if the money is going towards us buying Welbeck.... Which won't happen.
  24. When we started buying early I was optimistic about the season ahead. However, I thought there would be at least 2 more signings and Hughes is now saying that our business is done. Given that we've failed to sort a couple of key issues and opted for Vestergaard over Gibson, I'm concerned. The pre-season performances have shown that we've not really improved anything after last season.
  25. Why did we sign Vestandpants when we could have signed Gibson for similar, if not less money?
