  1. As I said earlier. Sodje would be an excellent signing if AP can get him. Come on Alan. Use your powers of persuasion! Danny Mills at RB would be a good addition. Better than Murty!
  2. My concern is with our defenders. A mate who supports Luton Town said that Chris Perry had a nightmare in League One when he was with them. When I said that I was worried about him coming to Saints if he couldn't hack it in L1, his response was - He's better suited to the style and pace of Championship football. L1 is just far too physical for him. Not entirely sure what he meant by this, I guess time will tell.
  3. Yep, Totally agree with you on that one. How old is Perry? Murty doesn't exactly inspire confidence either.
  4. Ipswich supporting friend has just sent me a text to say that when he's interested he's a good player. When he can't be arsed (which is quite often by all accounts) he is shocking! Sounds like what we've already got :\
  5. Don't get me wrong I'm glad to see that we are signing players, but I thought we had plenty of cover at L/B and L/M? Are our existing options (Molyneux, Mills etc.) really that bad? Surely it's Centre Backs that we need? A strong midfielder and a proven goalscorer would also be good additions, but I'm sure that will happen.
  6. When are some people going to start looking to the future instead of dwelling on the past? LM did a great job for us, but that was 30 years ago. We are a completely different club now. Football has changed and I'm not convinced that somebody who did a great job 30 years ago has much to offer these days.
  7. Never fogiven him for missing an empty goal from 6 yards out away at WBA the season we got relegated from the Prem. Had he put that away it could have been a different story. lol
  8. Fair comment. I was simply trying to focus on his time in English football. Had I not mentioned this, then there would have been loads of people on here saying 'so where does WGS winning the Scottish Prem come into this'. You know how it is. lol
  9. I've seen the comments about AP being no WGS. If you look at their records in English football they ain't a million miles apart. Both managed losing sides in an FA Cup final. WGS may have had the highest league finish, but AP gained promotion with 2 teams. I'd say they are pretty evenly matched. We've done well to get him. He's certainly a better option than some of the names that were doing the rounds. You can't really include WGS time at Celtic as it's not exactly difficult to do well in a league where you manage one the two richest clubs in the division.
  10. Friday 24th. Jamie Scowcroft.
  11. It's a nice thought, but have we really got the money to put such a management team in place? I know we've just been purchased and the new backers will inject some money, but they will also be keen to keep things sensible and I just can't see them stretching to 2 well known managers.
  12. This is exactley the kind of appointment I am expecting. Sadly, I can't see WGS or Coppell coming, so it comes down to the likes of Curbishley, Pardew, Boothroyd or Wise. I don't see any reason why he couldn't do a good job for us. He has experience at this level and given time and support from the board I think he more than capable of getting us out of L1. I'm sure there are a few fans out there who would be happy if Dowie or Mickey Adams were appointed, simply because of their Saints links. However, Pardew is probably as good as, if not better than either of those two, so if he comes then we should try and be positive and get behind the guy. How many of us were dreading the arrival of WGS all those years ago? Look what he ended up doing! Now the majority of fans want him back.
  13. That is f*cking disgusting! Our worst ever away shirt! Who ever came up with the idea of it being Blue should be F*cking shot. Oh well. They'll be a fiver in the bargain bin in 9 months time.
  14. Yellow again - Boring! The club is entering a new era and we opt for the same old thing. It's well documented that the Yellow kits don't sell particularly well for the reason that if people have got one yellow shirt, they make do with it and don't always buy another. I would have liked to have seen something completely different. Oh well.
  15. Your car no longer has to be 10 years old to qualify. Nissan are now offering the deal on cars that are 8 years old.
  16. He'll be gone when we're 3 games in and still on -10pts.
  17. That's superb! Never mind Liverpool. The Brazillians would be proud of that one
  18. Ah, right. It was his suggestion that it was early to mid 80's that threw me as MLT wasn't playing then. I immediately thought he was talking about the 90's game when we scored 4. Either way, there's not may sides that can say they've put 4 past Liverpool in the 80's or 90's
  19. But MLT wasn't playing in the Early 80's? The SKY game I'm thinking of was the 4-2 match in the snow when MLT got 3.
  20. It was an overhead kick. It won goal of the season. It was a Televised game on a Friday night. 16th of March 1984.
  21. I think you mean 90's. It was a Monday night Sky game if I remember correctly.
  22. We beat them at The Dell in the early 80's. Danny Wallace scored an amazing overhead kick which won goal of the season.
  23. He tried the same thing with Chester City!
  24. No. I watch it in the hope that it may improve and they might actually come up with something new, original and informative. Sadly that never seems to be the case.
