Just watched Nick Love's remake of the 80's TV Movie. Not great. Love's obsession with Football Violence and 80's fashion is wearing a bit thin. There's only so many films you can make on this subject and The Firm really didn't need remaking with Love's take on things. May sound daft, but little details really ****ed me off. One of the main characters in the original was called 'Yeti', probably because of his blonde/white hair. In this film he's played by Daniel Mayes who has nothing 'Yeti' about him at all. Also, Love seems to think that the fashion from 1980 - 1989 basically involved Adidas trainers and Fila Tracksuits and nothing else. I could go on for hours about how this film should have never been remade. In the end I think it's easier to sit down and watch the original. It's far more enjoyable.

I've never understood managers who but subs on with 2 mins to play. What's the point? How are they going to have any impact on a game in such a short space of time? I would be looking to introduce substitutes from 60 mins onwards if things are looking a bit stale. At least this gives them a chance to impact upon the game.

Saints vs Colchester - Post Match Reaction

Wise words. Mills is a must. Will have to see what Waigo has to offer. I'm not holding me breath. It would just be nice to see us score some goals and actually win a game. -

Same old ****e! FFS when are these so called wonderful young players going to find their level? League 2? BSP? I've forgotten what it feels like to experience the team I support winning a game. -
Humbug is a major disappointment

It's times like this that I wish the club had folded. At least I wouldn't have to endure this **** every Saturday afternoon.
-
Based on their performance last Saturday night, it comes as no suprise. They were f*cking awful! All that crap about Laim having Viral Laryngitis on Sunday was bull****. His voice was fine on Saturday at V. Well, I say fine. It was the same as it has been for the last few years which is not a patch on what it once was. At least I can say I saw their last gig... For the time being.

I may have to BOB down to St. Mary's for tonights game.

Where did I have a pop about not being able to find decent players? I clearly state that we've found the likes of Lambert and Hammond, so why can't we find defenders who can add some qulaity to the squad instead of taking people on loan. People who are not even proven at CCC level! Birmingham may have been promoted twice with loads of loan players. On the other side, we've been relegated twice with too many loan players!
-
Err, no they are not. If they are no good then why sign them in the first place? Nobody seems to know anything about this lad. My guess would be that he has a similar level of experience as Lancashire . All that happens is you end up with someone for 6 months that adds nothing to the squad. If he goes back in Jan then we are left with a problem, and have to go through the whole process again, looking for another defender on a 6 month loan. The problem is that we don't have a single centre back who is any good. We should be looking to buy 2 players who can build a central defensive partnership that will become a solid unit for years to come. We should also be looking to buy a striker who can partner Lambert and form a striking partnership. I can't believe that our scouts have been unable to identify players who can do a job for us and bring some much needed quality to the team. There are players out there who can do a job for us - We've proved this by signing the likes of Lambert and Hammond.
-
This is bull****. Why are we taking players on 6 month loan deals? We are supposed to be building a team that will get us out of L1. Have we not learned the lesson with loan players? Part of the reason for our demise over the last few seasons has been because we've had too many loanees who are not commited enough because thay have no passion for the club.

Saints sign Dean Hammond from Colchester

With the Colchester manager leaving for Norwich, is nobody else nervous that he may try and take Hammond with him? -
Swindon 1 v Saints 0 Post-Match Reaction

Oh yes you would. Chester are my local team and if you want to see an example of a **** poor team and a club who are well and truly ****ed then look no further! They were 2-0 up on Saturday and lost 4-2... Hang on a minute, that sounds like the sort of thing Saints would do. You have to laugh or else you'd cry! -

Simply not good enough! We are supposed to have all these promising youngsters yet none of them seem to be delivering the goods. I can understand why they may have struggled last season as they were thrown in at the deep end, but they should easilly be capable of playing at this level. The older players in the side should certainly be able to hack it in L1, but I've seen little evidence of this. Get some people in who actually want to play for the club. Anyone who is not prepared to give 100% should be shown the door! Can anyone tell me what AP's problem is with Gillett? FFS, give the lad a chance! -
Huddersfield 3-1 Saints - Post Match Reaction

Joseph Mills! And before you start, I know he's injured. But if fit he should be straight in the team. -
I'm looking for programmes from the final home games from the last 2 seasons. That's Sheff Utd at home in 2008 and Burnley at home in 2009. Can anyone help or tell me where I may be able to get them? Cheers.

They've said that before. Phil Selway was on Breakfast news on Tuesday and they asked him if the 'no more albums' statement was true. He repilied 'Thom always says that when we are mid-way through recording something'. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. They've often talked about just releasing ep's. Fine with me. Alwyas preferred quality to quantity.

Made me laugh when he was going on about banning the players drinking. The words Pot & Kettle spung to mind. lol

So if not Jaidi, then who?

I suggested Sodje weeks ago and was blasted for it. Now everybody seems to think he'd be a good addition. WTF! -
No. But a mate who's an Ipswich fan was desperate for me to wear a Norwich shirt on the last day of last season. He was convinced it would help seal their relegation to L1.

Chester are my local team. They are in a real state. To be honest this could well be the final straw for them. I could go on for hours about events that have conspired against them, but to be honest I don't see the point. My gut feeling is that they should just call it a day. A sad way of looking at things but when you're in the position that they are it seems pointless continuing. The frightening thing is this. Obviously I'm a Saints fan. As a child my Grandad took me to Luton Town and I had a season ticket there in the late 80's. Living so far from Southampton makes it difficult to get to home games as often as I'd like, so I go and watch my local team - Chester City. I'm beginning to think that I may be a Jinx!

Got a feeling it will be 4-1 to Millwall.

It's ****e! Our worst shirt ever!
