  1. I'd rather have a discussion about what he actually said instead of ranting about a fictional caricature where someone like Toby Young is literally Hitler. Not like you to characterise clarifying precisely what a political figure you disagree with says as sticking up for them.
  2. In fairness its a more nuanced view than simply saying he supports eugenics. I don't actually agree with him by the way but his view seems to be that the economic costs will cause loss of life and that if it's a choice between a wrecked economy and loss of life or the deaths of largely elderly people then he would prefer the latter rather than the former. Lots of people hold that view incidentally.
  3. Would only take one player or support staff to show symptoms and the whole thing would go down in flames. I suppose it very much depends what the situation is by then.
  4. Like I said, good to hear the vast majority of police are doing what is needed at the moment. The whole policing of language stuff probably comes from superiors anyway rather than the average policeman.
  5. I'd rather all of them were out keeping order, preventing burglaries (like the two that targeted empty childcare settings in Southampton last week for example.) etc. We don't need tweets policed at the moment or ever really.
  6. I have but more because I think it would provide a good distraction.
  7. That may very well be true. Its still a total waste of time wherever it comes from and whoever is telling them to do it.
  8. Hopefully you're right but they do say in the video that they will investigate every report of hate crime even if you don't believe its a crime. I'd rather they stopped all this nonsense talk and did what they should be doing and I'm sure most police officers are.
  9. I'd rather the hurty words team diverted all their energy into things that will combat the virus.
  10. Good to see the police have their priorities in order:
  11. Just been told we can take people off furlough after three weeks if needed. Result.
  12. If anything it proves him completely wrong. This level of spending will damage the country for decades yet he wanted to do similar without a catastrophic once in a generation event. Imagine if Corbyn had got in and this virus had popped up in a year or two. if we had spent on the level he wanted we would be utterly utterly f*cked.
  13. Yawn.
  14. Tbf it's going to be impossible for all people to take annual leave once we are up and running again.
  15. Because he's in charge of running the country?
  16. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-52048213 LOL! Corbyn is such a moron.
  17. I was replying to your question about who davefoggy meant by "they". Asked and answered. I guess you missed my earlier post: "No one is saying the numbers have been overestimated. One potentially credible person has said that our current measures may keep deaths lower than 20,000. That's not the same thing."
  18. Sounds like an interesting nature programme.
  19. No I was talking about the original post which said that numbers were overestimated.
  20. "they are starting to say today that the numbers have probably been overestimated." Where is there any mention of 500k UK deaths figure if we did nothing?
  21. No one is saying the numbers have been overestimated. One potentially credible person has said that our current measures may keep deaths lower than 20,000. That's not the same thing.
  22. And we have people who still have to work. Asking people to risk their health and potentially their lives every day is weighing very heavily on me. I do have to say though that everyone has been so understanding and kind.
  23. Professor Neil Ferguson for one.
  24. We are paying everyone 100% for March as we got all our income a month in advance. We now have a month to decide what we are doing next month. Going to look at it and make the decision as we will have to go through everyone manually and make the changes.
  25. Numbers will be lower due to the actions taken. Would you have preferred we did very little and allowed it to claim thousands more, many of whose deaths could have been entirely prevented? What price a life?
