Excellent article in Guardian re. our predicament
hypochondriac replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
Didn't look very managed to me when we lost Chambers. -
No they don't. No one would have "moaned" as you put it had we signed Rojo (still might TBF.)
-
The only reason you said you couldn't be bothered is because you know it is untrue. Unless you can find proof of that nonsense claim then your point is irrelevant. Of course I hope he does well, it's a pointless thing to say because every single saints fan hopes that every single player does well for us.

Good post.

At no point did I slag off the signings of Lovren and Wanyama. I thought both were good signings and said so at the time. You have just made that up to try and support your point. With everyone we sign, we have no idea how they will do for us and we all hope they do well. Having said that, normally you have an initial reaction about the signing. Not sure why you are finding that difficult to understand but as normal Les you miss the point.

That's from yesterday. Has been denied.

On the face of it not impressed by the signing hence my initial reaction.

Taïder Joins on 1 year Loan & Osvaldo to Inter - Official
hypochondriac replied to itchen_dan's topic in The Saints
Still haven't seen much about what this guy is like. Any ideas? -
Again, how does believing he is an underwhelming signing mean he will not receive support?
-
I disagree. I think he was very decent for us last year and certainly the type of player we needed last season. Reports for Bertrand are very mixed and he isn't the type of exciting signing I was expecting. I think at the moment we appear to have lowered our expectations significantly from last season a d it will be interesting to see if we manage to capture any of these big name signings such as Rojo where you feel it would be a real coup. As someone said yesterday, had we signed Bertrand up after getting in the likes of Forster and others then it would be less disappointing for some. Signing Bertrand on loan makes you wonder if this is now the level we are aiming at (lower half of the prem) and that's disappointing after the last couple of years.

What part of "we have no idea how he will do for us and of course I hope he does well" is being so sure of the outcome? Learn to read Les.

Signings at the standard of lovren and wanyama.
-
Our previous first choice lb is obviously what I meant. You were comparing him to Fox who he is clearly better than.
-
Shouldn't Bertrand be compared to our first choice lb rather than the backup?
-
Would clearly be a great signing. Not believing it till it happens though.
-
Thanks... Knob. Are we just ending posts with generic insults now?
-
Nope. On the face of it I think it's a poor signing. Certainly underwhelming and not the standard I was expecting. Having said that we don't actually know how he will do here and of course I hope he does well. No contradiction.
-
Agree. Don't think we would have signed Bertrand if we wanted this guy.
-
Perfectly relaxed thanks.
-
What are you on about? No idea how he will do here, hope he does well. Not particularly enthused by his signing though. What's wrong with that?
-
We arent anything like everton who signed top quality loans. We have a load of money let's spend some please.
-
Quite a few times. Mate is also a villa season ticket holder and wasn't impressed. Said he started well but was then pretty ****e.
-
Eh? Make sense sir! What I described is what happens every time some posters say they aren't keen on a signing. Give them a chance! Is the normal reply, as if saying you don't think he is good means you are then incapable of supporting him when he actually starts playing for us.
-
No more loans please.
-
Potential signings won't sign because some people on this forum are underwhelmed by a signing?
