Watching back on old Saints games, it was incredible how quickly we used to get from goalkeeper to opposition penalty area. No stopping at the halfway line and playing a sideways pass as today’s players are minded to do.

Honest to God. I could sit on the half way line and play a ball sideways. Surely it can’t be beyond this team to play forward passes not horizontally. Can’t see any better result than what City did to us last year at Ashton Gate. Pathetic.

Delighted to get a point but what a really turgid performance. The number of times players got caught while fiddling around on the edge of the area. Too many to count. At least there were a couple of occasions when the ball got kicked upfield rather than mess around passing back to Ramsdale. Time for Armstrong to be dropped. Brings nothing to the party. A few others need to up their games as well so some work for IJ next week.

As a previous poster said, this possession football is boring when played at a funeral pace. Watching City earlier was a revelation. Crisp passing and first time shooting. And guess what, passes played forward not sideways and backwards.

Great man. Made me a very happy supporter.

Should have said played at a pedestrian pace. Nothing wrong with passing the ball but it has to be at pace with a purpose.

Still not a fan of this possession football. City were so much more energetic and completely nullified our stilted efforts. Have to say, really liked Ashton Gate stadium, and the locals made me smile with their rendering of WTS go 3 nil down.

Could only bear to watch the first half. Three down and goodnight Maria. Playing out from the back is ok but you have to have get forward at some stage. Sideways passing doesn’t get you anywhere. Their left winger had the right idea. Direct running and get it to the front men saspo. Desperately need a new keeper.
