I think you have made this up. Early in season, when after 12 games we had let in 7 goals, in champions league place? Only discussion I remember was on sky saying he was worth double what we paid. Did you see how he played Saturday? Outclassed Man U's midfield - was better than Lallana. He was superb early season. He broke a bone and had a couple of worse games when he came back. (Cork took few games when he came into side). Clearly, and rightly, one of first names on team sheet. Young. International captain. From day one has looked good signing and value for money
  2. So just over year ago you thought this about Lallana. Who had been playing for first team for 6 years 7 months and was 25. Now we can't do without him. Ramirez, who made his debut a year 7 months ago and is 23, and whose biggest fault is the form of Lallana, looks very good when had chance, established international, you write off and don't think will ever make it. Forgive me for keeping more open mind
  3. The standout comment for me was him saying, after spending afternoon with Roy Hodgeson, --- we have three players going to Brazil for full England team & would have been four if JayRod fit.
  4. Did you listen? My understanding as listened on way home was he was talking about the list of new players they have identified as wanting...will be contacting their clubs. The presenters were then talking positively about this news about new potential signings. Maybe its not him who is loosing his grasp of reality?
  5. How was it 'heads gone'? Because someone resigned 4 months ago? The press contradictions and inaccuracies reached comical levels in January and hopeful they are still performing at same low level. Personal highlight was Ashton in mail - in one article he stated that due to Cortese leaving players will now be sold and they wouldn't have been. Then went onto say NC was about to sell Lambert but he is staying as NC left??!! Also stated Lambert wanted out due to limited first team opportunities - when at that stage he was the forward in prem with most first team appearances + minutes in any team! Wait & see....sure most is made up.
  6. Appreciate we are not Liverpool - but the point stands as teams richer, more successful etc would want Suarez, just as Liverpool may want Lallana. If, for example, Liverpool offered £20m, even if AL saw it as a good move, I think the club would reject it & AL would happily play for us.
  7. Doubt he will be as determined as Suarez was last season. Doubt we will be offered as much money as Liverpool were. Think he is more emotionally tied to us than Suarez was to Liverpool. I'm not convinced clubs will agree to fees we will demand - his value to us is so high, captain, sell-on clause, English, current press favourite, popular with fans so commercially sensitive, long contract etc How many clubs will pay? Where would he want to go? If MP stays I think all wanted players will, all guess work (same as press!)
  8. Not really, England manager has mentioned Clyne at two stages of this season as bring under consideration and close to squad.

    Jack Cork

Quality player in area we are blessed. several calls for him to be considered for England squad - pretty impressive when he has spent the season as our 3rd or 4th choice. For me best pairing Morgan/ Wanyama, but Cork has shown he is very high quality cover for either.
  10. Firstly its not surprising that fans on a message board are biased towards their club. Nor is it surprising that people are more inclined to want to believe good news, its human nature. Why does the truth need to lie somewhere in the middle? If I made up a lie about you, which you deny...my lie isn't suddenly half true. This is straight forward. The story wasn't true. The reason I say that confidently is that a director of a company would not make such a clear statement, with preparation, without anyone else rebutting it, if it wasn't. I think we can take the club's statement as 100% fact. Remember it also fits in with previous statements on Shaw from both the manager and chairman. The story stated deal almost done, fees agreed etc. This has been shown to be made up and without fully checked provenance. The journalist may have failed to put it to the club. If CB thinks the criticism is biased fans (nothing wrong with that) he is wrong. Fans were criticised for doubting these 'done deals'stories and shouldn't have been. ...there may have been a bid last night though
  11. Whether journalist or someone else made it up, bottom line is someone did and the journalist reported a made up story. The story was fee agreed deal nearly complete. Unless you think a director of a company would make a false statement as clearly as this (he wouldn't) the story is totally made up. As I suspect majority are. Its good that we now have clear proof.
  12. When were these days you are referring to? I don't know who, if anyone, will be sold. I looked back to last summer and everyone, including the guardian, were convinced Shaw was leaving. You could argue Saints moving on, Shaw playing internationally and him signing a 5 year contract makes it less likely. All we know is; KL has funded the period with highest transfer investment in club's history. The club have said players the manager wants won't be sold The club have said money available for transfers. I'm 50/50 whether he will stay. The fee is large, but there are few players playing internationally at his age - he potentially could command a bigger fee in 3 years. I cannot see anyway the club will lose all the players reported as off - Shaw, Chambers, Lovren, Cork, Schneiderlin and Lallana. Newsnow is depressing reading right now!
  13. Cork 18 games - we have earnt 17 points. Wanyama 16 games - 29 points.
  14. Strange how when a 'poor' player like VW plays we get points at twice rate as when Cork plays. Or could it be you have a very limited understanding of football?

    Big vic!

Think you assessment too simplistic and critical of Cork. I think that over a season we would do better with Wanyama but not to the extreme you suggest. Yes my brash comments last season appear to have been spot on. Thought NC would have set his sights with an aim towards 6th-9th with last season squad - with the 3 additions sounds like he was talking about 4th-6th. Thought this too optimistic personally and around 7th / 8th most likely. Very enjoyable season. No idea about next yet but at least shown we are not light years away from top 6 as some thought.

Personally, before yesterday I thought Wanyama has been the better player. Cork is good and chases - but often chases due to his mistake. Whoever fans prefer , its about results - in prem games when they have played most game - Cork 18 games - we have earnt 17 points. Wanyama 16 games - 29 points. Over that amount of games, can it be coincidence we gain points at twice the rate when playing with inferior player in an I fluencial position?

    Big vic!

Simple way to view it - Last season when Cork came into the team it was the positive turning point. This season when Wanyama went out of the team was the negative turning point - wasnt it 7 goals conceded in first 12 leaving us with top teams. Much better player for us than Cork IMHO but lucky to have both
  18. Why interesting? Reckon its his first choice available team
  19. Disagree. Think Wanyama is better although not easy to compare. Cork's positioning and decision making I don't think is as good although both very good players. The start of this season until Wanyama's injury is the best we have played for years - consistently a good shape. Since his injury we have not looked as good. Although other factors involved I don't think it is a coincidence. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  20. Bless, Barry doesn't realise we have had the same owners since league 1. THIS liebherr has owned and invested from -10 league 1 to where we are now He says no player sales unless football decision ( which guess allows, for example, selling one of young RBs if feels too good to be back up, at their stage of career, and use money for older back up and strengthen elsewhere) He says wants club to progress from this season. Personally seeing good young players coming through and annual progression Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  21. The key things in that article is the picture of Lambert's miss. Zee Not sure if you are being thick or a wum? Changes Boruc to KD. - for worse -1 Chambers to Clyne - first +1 choice back - for better. CBs - Fonte injured Cork to VW - first choice back (and better player into) +1 Morgan to JWP justified by saying Morgan not 100% so judgement call (one several pres match poster called for. Mistake IMHO. Although did correct on hour. -1 JayRod to Guly. Although club stated JayRod had knock I think mistake as Morgan, again corrected on hour. Team had; 6 full Internationals 3 U21s 2 others These mass changes - two were improve side, one was this keeper thing lots do. And two in midfield. Those who came in.. JWP started most prem games. KD and Guly involved regularly. But facts don't make an interesting OP or thread Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  22. Lambert has scored more than Spurs' top scorer. Lambert has 11 goals, 10 assists. He is only behind Suarez, Sturridge, Rooney, Toure, Gerrard and Hazard. Adebayor has 10+3, 8 less than Lambert. Lukaku has 13+6, 2 less than Lambert. Suggest they both would have done better with Lambert, particularly as his defensive or deep play is better. Players I'd prefer? The future is hard but for this season? those who out performed him, Ageuro, DeSilver, vanpersie off top of my head . Clearly lukaku is better signing for future
  23. Unusual post alert..!! Standing up for Alpine for once, although I agree usually wrong and no rationale basis for his posts, he was big enough recently to admit he was wrong to write off Lallana and Schneiderlin as not good enough, and for criticising the club for signing JayRod. Although the next logical step maybe should have been to step back from his racist character assassination of Ramirez - a player he admits he has never seen play?! Just accept Glasgow/Barry know little and wind people up for attention. For example Glasgow criticism yesterday of MP's start of the season - when after 12 games we had let in 7 goals and were up with the top teams. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  24. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2603073/Southampton-0-1-Cardiff-match-report-Juan-Cala-stunner-gives-Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer-hope-fight-against-relegation.html Why argue with people who have never seen him play? Its like arguing about which painting is better, when someone who has never seen one of paintings comment. Actually its worse, when they haven't seen the painting and know nothing about art. You would smile, nod and let them have their pointless rant. Ramirez is good young player who was kept out by good form of others - as Cork was and as Puncheon would have been. At times inconsistent and too many injuries. But looked good whenever called upon this season - straight away on Saturday his touches / passes were good, gets into space (not used enough) always wanted the ball and one of better players. Played well before bad injury. Resale value and age far in his favour over JP Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk
  25. Never disappoint in your ability to show how little you know about football.. Start of season, say first 12 games? Yes Cork was down the pecking order. MP didn't have a clue did he? Strange we were fifth and had only let in 7 goals, 3 less than anyone else, level on points with Man City. God MP looks an idiot for those early season mistakes. Luckily sorted now, although only due to VW's injury! Bet MP agrees with you and us embarrassed now! Hopefully he can see his stupidity. Now VW kept out last 12...we are 10th and let in 22 goals. Bet he regrets that start... ....doh! Think you need to try bit harder to make of wind up criticisms. You really are off your game....did you not see those current form tables someone kept posting showing how we have deteriorated since Cork came in? ... Who started those threads?
