Interesting, however I would like to know why Lambert's poor physical fitness went on for so long and the difference in his physical output from last season to this. I would have thought that was the sort of thing the training analysts would have been homing in on.

Says it all.

Nothing controversial in the call. He didn't fit in with the management so they won't have him back if there is an alternative. It would be sensible to sell him for the best price and move on.

Looks like saving private Ryan. Got that wrong didn't they?

Unless prices go up for us there is a finite income from spectators say max £20m, the tv place money is far in excess of that, so basically, as far as I am concerned, on the field success, league position and tv income has a much greater value than the size of the spectators unless one has a 60 - 75000 capacity and fills it every week (cat 1).

Could be the prosecution is having difficulty finding corroborative witnesses. I think an epidemic of collective amnesia and temporary blindness has maybe set in.

One problem Dickson has, is that Lallana prefers playing in front of Harding. It would be surprising, unless another fullback is brought in, if Harding was released.

MU / Arsenal bring a large number of players into the first team through their academies. They nearly always except in exceptional cases serve a first team apprenticeship on loan in other clubs first teams. We should do the same.

We used to fly manual reversion approaches on BAC1-11 and I think several Boeings but it was a long time ago so I can't remember exactly which. Nothing like this though, could fly a pretty reasonable approach (often ILS).

Whatever it was I'm glad it never happened to me.

My recollection too.

Normally we kick off the second half between 1607 and 1609 which with added time gives a game finish of 1655 to 1700. I time precisely to the second the starting whistle of the second half so I can accurately gauge the finish time as the stp clock timing ends at 90 minutes. I use a radio watch that is accurate to micro seconds. I really don't see why the game can't start dead on 1500 or whatever designated start time.

I thought the same but he didn't give any other scenario any chance and just went to Arsenal. Two things are needed by very quick players, firstly the other players have to stay out of the space he needs to run in and Arsenal don't do that, everybody runs in front of him, even the slower full back overlaps him forcing him back or inside. Secondly he has to stay out of that space and leave it for the run past the defenders. He plays like any other player at Arsenal, tracks back but doesn't really defend, often faces his own goal and joins in the passing movements usually ending up boxed in by his own players and left with no space to exploit behind defenders. The Croatia game was set up perfectly for him, also he scored against I think Germany U21 breaking from the halfway line, however he rarely uses his one unique asset, his pace.
-
AOC would be bloody daft to go to Arsenal. MU is where he should go and where Walcott should have gone, they know how to use pace and win things whereas Wenger wants a team of a thousand passes and struggles to win anything.

Previous managers only, Bates, McMenemy, Nicholl, Strachan, Hoddle wouldn't give tuppence for the rest. I like Adkins.

Norwich added about half a dozen. We will have to do the same if we don't want to tread water. A dominant leader on the pitch is No 1 for me.

It looks like he was flying with rudder and elevator only, if so looking at the over controlling I thought he had to crash on landing. It was a magnificent landing.

Does that mean that the away supporters are only in the corner and behind the goal is now home fans.

Football League Paper: Player rumours - Howard and Bolasie
derry replied to Tac-tics's topic in The Saints
We have been talking to Brian Howard or more likely his agent since last summer. Pardew was after him but he signed a new three year contract at Reading. Although he wants to play for Saints I can't see it happening. As for Barnsley, not for the contract he has at Reading for another two years plus his wife from Totton and a new house at Bartley, he doesn't need to move anywhere at this time. -

Adkins has a 66.66% win ratio - 26 league wins in 39 matches. Win on Saturday it could be 67.5% for the season. - 29 inc cup wins in 43 matches 67.44% again win on Saturday could be 68.18%. I believe that is an all time record for any manager albeit in the third tier and really only a comparison with last year or pre 1960. Since Christmas 19 wins in 26 games - 73.07%, win on Saturday 74.07% which is unbelievably good. 61 points in 26 games - 2.35 points average win on Saturday 2.37. Started in 22 place with a defeat and a draw and improved from there. The big difference with Huddersfield was the 19 wins against 15 since Christmas. A Brilliant start.

It looks like Adkins has done a bit more than just manage us to promotion. Although Davis has made one or two crass errors, positional or near post, it looks like Adkins is getting him to do a lot more than he was doing earlier in the season. He throws the odd one out of play but is now passing short to his defenders, he is also relieving pressure by catching some crosses, that together with his excellent shotstopping and accurate long kicking he is a much better keeper than earlier in the season. It is likely that Adkins has been proactive, identifying the weaknesses and getting the coaches to work on improvement rather than trying to bring in a replacement. Having said that I wouldn't be surprised to see Joe Murphy at SMS next season as I think he could be out of contract in the summer.

To avoid acrimony in July when I presume that the season tickets will be on sale as last year it would be sensible for those that created last year,( that said that they would have saved the money given notice ), to anticipate the possibility that there won't be an instalment plan. That way if there is an instalment plan, they arrange a personal instalment plan their savings wouldn't be needed but if there is no plan at least they will be in a position to purchase the season ticket.

Bournemouth have had a couple of gutsy seasons and achieved miracles on a very small budget. If they win the playoffs I'll take my hat off to them. Huddersfield are the best team in it, if they don't win, it will be because somebody else was better on the day.

Well done, 58 points in the last 25 games, promotion as good as done. Joined us with only four points after six games in 22nd place pulled us together and after Christmas really did the business.
