  1. I think you are confusing drifting inside for playing as a striker. He plays as one of the wide midfielders in the Arsenal style which reduces his ability to use his pace which could destroy teams as he did against Croatia and Barcelona when Arsenal were being hammered.
  2. If Walcott had gone to Utd he would have joined a club tailormade for his pace as a wide man initially. Arsenal have made little use of his pace as they mostly push on the full back or the midfielders, strikers run wide into the space he would use whilst he drifts inside to take part in the passing movement. This is why he is struggling to get into the international starting team who want him to use his pace down the touchline. At Utd he would have been allowed to use his pace on the break without being blocked off by his own players. I also think he went to the wrong club. I think at Utd he would have become a better player and a shoe in for England.
  3. As far as I am concerned If Arsenal or anyone else including his advisers want to force a sale that's fine, but from there on, we play hardball and who cares about his future, that is down to others, certainly not Saints. Put him up for auction, best price up front plus sell on fee, If he doesn't like it, tough. Forget any loan just replace him, he is a long way from the finished product and provided we buy a good replacement he won't be missed. If he wants to stay and play, that's great, but if he wants to go, bye.
  4. You are being disingenous, the two crosses he didn't get were hit deep with pace outside the back post and for one he made a big attempt and stopped the attacker outside the back post getting near even though he didn't get there and Davis wouldn't have even moved. Bialkowski also caught everything else in the six yd box, pushed the defence outside the goal area, made one blinder of a save and caught two low down shots. He had a good game even if his long kicks are not as good as Davis. Davis is a good shotstopper but is prone to letting balls bounce back off him which have often been netted, also pushing balls back out to inrushing forwards. He certainly wouldn't have come off his line to catch the crosses that Bialkowski caught. Davis has also dropped more than his share of crosses even though unchallenged.
  5. Forget about Woolford, 10 Sc-unthorpe working their socks off to try and win a vital game. Strolling around on the periphary, Schneiderlin style, doesn't get into areas where he might get knocked. No workrate to speak of and not that quick.
  6. The only reserve I want to see playing on Saturday is Bialkowski. If we lose and he has a good game keep him in the team.
  7. Two soft goals scored against us, again the goalkeeper didn't take command for the first and let himself be lobbed from 35 yds for the second. We won't win leagues without a proper goalkeeper rather than the world's best shotstopper.
  8. He is a major problem. Shotstopping is something most goalkeepers do but also defend and command the goal area, build from the back, transmit confidence, things that Davis can't do. The first goal whilst playing poorly was a killer and was down to Davis not defending competently.
  9. No because the goalkeeper's lack of judgement and nervousness is a big weakness at the back. He has been given too long and we need a change.
  10. I don't care about the result as long as the referee isn't another biased ***** like the last one, penalty off the side of the head summed him up.
  11. Time to give him a go, If not bring in a good all rounder.
  12. Davis has one asset only, his shotstopping. His nervousness on the line unsettles the defence when balls are played in. It sounds like he was at fault with the second goal bent round him from 35 yds when he was off his line. He won't come off his line when there is a threat in the box but is caught way off his line when there is no threat. His judgement which is one of the most important facits of goalkeeping is poor and I want him out. Preferably a decent keeper brought in, however I am happy for Bialkowski to be given a go because his loyalty and performances when brought in deserve it.
  13. It's time for a change in goal. Davis cost us the game today with the first goal. The fact that he is captain is a joke he can't even run his own goal area. When the ball is in the penalty area between the goalkeeper and the centre back the goalkeeper has to come off his line and take charge. As good a shot stopper as he is the rest of his dificiencies are going to cost us promotion. Bialkowski should now be given a run.
  14. Same again today.
  15. Whilst Pinnacle had exclusivity I was told that they didn't have a pot to pee in and were only still there because Crouch had put up the deposit and the MLT name, however the Swiss were blue chip but if they decided to walk the club was gone. Fry was an idiot that got lucky, MLT likewise and most of all the football club getting Markus Leibherr.
  16. Rooney at MU.
  17. So Adkins and Cortese are lying and The Express, Mirror and Sky are the font of all knowledge. Journalists desperate to fill space so fact never an issue. It's run out of steam in the papers at the moment even the Echo is sidelining it. Twitter just about sums it up.
  18. I personally think that a lot of the names mentioned are way off, as the club has said that they will only bring in players that will improve the team, which really rules out potential. We are hardly likely to sign young fourth division players. We are only going to sign proven players. Austin/Pilkington have proved their ability and it is players of their ilk and value that we will be looking for.
  19. I have a feeling we have bid big for some good players, but our big is not big enough and Cortese won't overbid.
  20. So three tickets don't go to supporters on the data base. If LeTissier wanted to go give him a ticket, but why allow non supporters tickets, when apart from season ticket holders reserving their seats, data base members only get one.
  21. If Cortese says he is going nowhere and sticks to it, it doesn't matter what the player etc, other clubs want he is going nowhere. That said he may never play for us again if there is a bust up, but if Cortese took a screw you attitude, his next game wouldn't be until the 2013/14 season. We would then not get a big transfer fee. I suspect the player would have to knuckle down and co-operate so that eventually when the club were willing he would be allowed to go. It is in his interests to co-operate with the club. Cortese doesn't strike me as someone who is going to be dictated to.
  22. We were told a couple of weeks ago that the only issue was his family's (wife?) residency but the club didn't see it was going to be an issue, so they obviously sorted the paperwork.
  23. Person/player is singular whilst people etc is plural he also said none out or words to that effect.
  24. He said precisely that on Solent after the N C match.
  25. Because Weston was told Wednesday for the examination. They already have the results from the scan.
