Just found that myself. There's some great goals in there that wouldn't be out of place in an MLT showcase. Let's hope he lives up to the Number 7 shirt for us this season.
-
And seeing as "We all love" is truer to the original tune as well it's better. As I sit with my kids in the family area it's a much better alternative
-
I always attend with the whole family so have always sat in the family enclosure (around block 27). For the Ajax game we were in block 13. As others have said, it seems that anyone in this area that wants to get things going is pretty much on their own - I know I feel isolated. Now that the whole of the Chapel end is being used for families I can't see things improving. There seems a massive reluctance to get involved at that end of the ground and those that do - as others have already said - get the "what do you think you're doing" look. I definitely agree that we need a few "singers" in other areas of the ground which may encourage some of those who want to sing to join in - safety in numbers . Didn't they plant singers throughout the crowd during the Rugby 6 Nations to try to get people going? But, still, it amazes me how many supporters just treat the match like a quiet afternoon out and don't go with the intention of getting involved. The FA may be running the "enjoy the match" campaign to stop people swearing etc. in family areas but that doesn't mean you can't get behind the team and have the odd shout at the ref otherwise what are we teaching our kids about supporting your team? If the "sit on their hands crowd" joined in with the songs and got the atmosphere going then we can all have a much more enjoyable time even if we lose - the sense of occasion and community should return now that we are united behind the new leadership rather than being a fanbase divided like the last few years.

A sad day for football RIP Sir Bobby.

Is SaintsTV coming back with live commentary this season?
Gravesend Saint replied to offix's topic in The Saints
If Solent is going to be through SaintsTV then there won't be an issue with overseas as the rights will have been negotiated etc. Would be good to get this - It'll be the only reason I get another subscription. -
Awesome result in APs first game in charge. Get in!
-
Bearing in mind APs comments today it seems that he hasn't and his performance against Hearts could determine if we offer him a contract. Or am I just reading that wrong?? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1732599,00.html

Isn't he supposed to be in talks with Middlesbrough? Better get in quick.
-
Would love to go but the wife has now gone down with oink flu. After that our next match will be Brentford as we're on holiday for Millwall.
-
Thought the new away kit looked a lot better in the flesh after seeing it today.
-
Same here but as others have said, it was probably a lot of the freebie tickets not being used. Still, just got home (Kent) - stopped off at the hungry horse in Andover to console ourselves Thought the first 30 minutes or so were a good start - began brightly and the goal was well worked. Murty may have been caught out of position a couple of times and needs to fitten up a bit but I thought he did well and, along with Molyneux, put in some good tackles and blocks. Lallana's deadballs were poor - was sat in the Itchen South corner and his corners in front of us in were atrocious. Saga tried to make a difference when he came on but the final ball was poor all over the park. You could tell Ajax were a quality outfit - when they received the ball to feet it just stuck whereas we had no control. We were also bundled off the ball to much. Roll on the era of AP - time to get some real work going.

Was saying to my wife that it was ridiculous all those thousands streaming out when we're trying to make a good impression for ML - absolutely pathetic. Liked the big banner from the Northam though nice touch. Great reception for Alan Pardew, he'll definitely have recognised the passion Saints fans have and will be fully aware of the expectations. Shame the last 60 minutes of the match weren't up to the first 30. Thought we started brightly but didn't really know what to do after the joke penalty was awarded.
-
Completely agree! I've just recovered from swine flu (that Tamiflu REALLY makes you feel sick!) and fully intend to be there with the wife and kids. Support the team regardless and show Markus just what the fans are about.

It's all academic anyway: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4483901.Liebherr_is_the_right_man_for_Saints__says_Wotte/ Wotte: "I signed a contract as manager for at least one year, so there is no indication they want to change that"

The good news just keeps on coming Roll on Millwall, let's get this show on the road!
-
I like that, I like that a lot

At last Roll on the new season

Don't think it'll be ready till the 10/11 season.

If a new buyer does take on the whole of the debt then there is rumour that Aviva re willing to take a huge knockdown - that amounts to using admin to significantly reduce the debt and will most likely be frowned upon. Yesm the PLC has been in existence for a long time but the way that it has been sacrificed for the FC is what will irk the league. Also, when you consider that the same directors were on the board of both companies they could well view that the two are essentially the same organisation and all footballing decisions are coming from the PLC. "...they would not be so arbitrary as to make the rules up after the event..." Well, they did after the Leeds thing AND docked them extra.
-
Consider it signed - Saints till I die Colin.
-
Positive note: "Administrators are thought to want to appoint a new director to the football board with no previous connection to the club to help with its day to day running." Good news - stops any arguements. From: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4254471.Lowe_and_Wilde_resign_from_Saints/

BBC have finally got something up: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/7976473.stm This bit conflicts with what the Echo reported and the precedent set by Derby: "It is possible that moves to put the club's parent company, rather than the club itself, into administration will save it from triggering the automatic 10-point deduction imposed by the Football League. However, BBC Sport understands that if a significant proportion of the club's debt is wiped out by such a move, it could still be at the discretion of the League whether a points penalty is imposed."
-
If the PLC goes down is it really viable that the football club could stay afloat without it? I can't see how as the two are so intrinsically linked. I don't see how we could avoid the 10 point deduction - there's no money coming in.
-
What isn't familiar is the quote "Murray and several directors have lent £14m to the club and cannot be accused of lacking commitment".
-
And doesn't this sound familiar: "I can't believe we lost. The least we should go home with is a point."
