  1. More like it... finally starting to get some space. Maybe Reading's fitness or concentration is starting to tell. Also, these commentators are bloody annoying.
  2. Tight hamstring apparently.
  3. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?33330-Reading-V-Saints-Second-Half-Chat!!
  4. That save gets better and better each time I see it.
  5. Half time has come at a good time for us.
  6. ALF with that sly knee into Davis' thigh. Looked like he meant it to me.
  7. dirty cheating git
  8. That should have been a penalty!
  9. Huh. Could have sworn I remember watching it!
  10. How long ago now is it that we won 2-1 at Anfield on Sky?
  11. It's swings and roundabouts. We lose the protection of the 90 minute rule for local talent, but that also means we can try and recruit the best talent from the whole country before all but three other teams. Not to mention that for youngsters at twelve years old, a catergory one status academy here, with a history of producing youngsters that 'make it' is pretty attractive for the parents not wanting to rip their family up and move away from the area. Out of the four that will get catergory one status, we're probably the one with the best reputation for bringing through talent at the moment. There's a tiny window of opportunity here, if we manage to get promoted this season, and strengthen enough that we're stable in the Prem, and build the academy, then the combination of the reputation of our academy, our position in the league, the pick of some of the most promising talent in the country, as well as being able to train that talent far more than we currently can, along with the new financial fair play rules, could see us becoming a real footballing force over the next few years.
  12. Ah well, I guess we'll stay just the 14 points ahead for now then.
  13. One theory is that tachyons appear to travel faster than light because they're actually travelling backwards in time... If that's what's happened here, with neutrinos changing to tachyons and then back again, it'd still be huge in a physics sense, as it'd be the first time we'd observed something changing the direction it travels through time. That also opens up a huge can of worms on how it interacts with entropy, cause and effect, paradox....
  14. What'll happen to under age players already at academies without the higher status?
  15. Epic is right! If I saw a run like that on someone's Football Manager save, I'd probably accuse them of save scumming. How long was our previous best run? I remember being frustrated so many times because we'd got close to it or equalled it and then failed to break it... Seems fairly safe to say that once it comes to an end we'll never see it broken. (Especially as we could well end up extending it a fair few more games yet)
  16. One thing we DO do well is get right behind the team when they need us most. Just after we concede we always get a loud chant going and it does seem to help fire the team up.

Heh, my dry deadpan sense of humour coming back to bite me online yet again And yeah, it's been based on tickets sold for ages. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1083630/The-truth-modern-day-attendances-How-clubs-count-missing-fans.html
  18. "So do people think that Southampton are a good team ?? I didn't see it personally... Leeds and Ipswich were better." I particularly like this one considering our results against said teams

That could explain why the announcement was 32150, since that would have been recorded at half time and would have been the figure in front of the announcer. Someone probably realised the extra two coming in meant a record attendance and let the announcer know, and he would have read out the figure he had in front of him. Would also explain the strange timing of the announcement.

  21. That's disgusting if it goes through.
  22. It's not quite 0, it's just less than 0.05% from their simulations so gets rounded down to 0 on the figure they show. When it's gone completely the 0 won't be displayed. (At least, that's what happened last season.)
  23. It'll depend on where we both are by then. That swing resulted from that match being played at this stage of the season, with our respective games remaining, with the teams in the positions, and points earned before the game.
  24. There's a link near the top that says 'How are these numbers calculated?' which explains it pretty well.
  25. http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/ChampionshipLeague.html Odds are looking very very nice now... Winning that one game last night apparently increased our chances of winning the league and going up by over 11%... That was such a MASSIVE game for us to win.
