  1. Let's keep all this sort of stuff together in one thread shall we? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?26935-January-Transfer-Window-News-and-Rumours
  2. I see the January rumour mill has already started, so here's your very own thread for discussing this stuff. Please try and say how reliable you think your source is, even if you're 'not at liberty to disclose' to keep this place half sane...
  3. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9275796.stm Team orders make a return, mainly due to the fact they never went away and it was an unenforcable rule. It's a shame, but it was always going to happen...

    Tevez

Considering the season Liverpool are having, I reckon we could see Torres going in to replace him if they give in and let Tevez go. Torres looks like he needs a new start and City could be the perfect team to give him that.
  5. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/9275796.stm Two new rules coming in to aid overtaking, could make for a very interesting season.
  6. So as expected there are a fair few changes for Australia. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/england/9274782.stm Have to admit I'd never heard of Michael Beer, but he's been included, bit surprised to see him in ahead of Hauritz (or Warne!).
  7. Does this mean your job is going to be affected Ponty?
  8. I wonder if they've hired him because they think it'll give them a shot at poaching our youth prospects...
  9. 'Once we are there we will compete to win the title, that’s the point of being there.' That is something I'm glad to hear... Did wonder whether top half might be the limit of our ambition, but apparently not Whether we can actually push on and do that once the money for it is needed etc remains to be seen, but the ambition being there now is about all we could hope for atm
  10. Good positive interview, I'm impressed I'd love to see us eventually lift the Premier League Trophy... I'm starting to believe it might one day be possible... re: his eyes moving left or right, that just means he's constructing or recalling sounds in his head, which isn't all that surprising considering English isn't his first language...
  11. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/dec/07/ashes-2010-australia-press-cricket There's a nice summary of Aussie press reaction
  12. We don't need Bresnan to help us take 20 wickets for us to retain The Ashes now, we just need to stop Australia taking 20 more than once... now considering that they've only managed 16 in the last TWO tests... I'm starting to doubt they can touch us.
  13. You know, they've been out of administration a fair while now... their ownership seems to be fairly secure, they're doing okish on the pitch... maybe it's time I closed the thread? (Alright alright, don't give me that look, I'm only joking...) More seriously, I notice in their statement about the testimonial money that it doesn't actually say it's been paid yet... I'm not sure we can read anything into the Gaydamak article though, we've seen a LOT of posturing between him and Chanrai over the last few months, better to wait and see whether anything actually happens. WE already knew that the figures didn't add up on here, looks like it could be January before the newspapers catch up though, when they try to continue the firesale, could make for interesting watching...
  14. What an amazing win... To beat the Aussies, in Australia, in an Ashes test, by an innings, 71 runs, and with 5 wickets spare in the first innings as well... I'm actually speechless, I don't think I'll see a more convincing victory in such a big test again in my lifetime... Now to get my sleeping pattern back to something near normal... (before I ruin it again in a week with the third test...)
  15. Have you tried right clicking on the icon in the tray (the one that's saying limited/no connectivity) and selecting Diagnose/Repair Connection?
  16. Oh KP you legend Vital wicket with the last ball of the day there... Depends on the weather now. If we get a decent amount of time on the last day we'll get them eventually.
  17. Awesome day for us.
  18. I know they did well in the first test, but they're the last pair before the tail, one mistake and now we'll probably get them out for less than 250... that's an awesome bowling performance on this wicket...
  19. think if we get another wicket before they get up to 130 odd we'll skittle the rest relatively cheaply...
  20. Still hasn't let up at all in Bitterne yet.
  21. I think this thread has run its course. If someone restarts it on the same topic, please try and keep it on that topic. Thanks.
  22. Although that bloke 'Extras' seems to be speeding up his scoring rate now to take up the slack... Do we take an outside chance of a result either way by declaring sometime soon? heh, that's another TD for Charger's defence...
  23. And that probably makes that four field goals... Back to the cricket, our scoring has slowed down since lunch, not that it really matters now, almost guaranteed draw now.
  24. There's no way Chargers should only have a 2 point lead... they should be out of sight by now. The fact that the offence has scored three field goals while their only TD has come from the defence tells the whole story...
  25. Hehe, fairly sure he was just being sardonic...
