Disappointing but at least we never gave up. Gutting to miss out on the chance to make up three points on first but at least we haven't lost ground on top spot. On to the next match.

Saints V Carlisle - half time and second half thread

Haha, Oxo's form is just ridiculous at the moment -
I wonder if laws against inciting religious hatred would apply here, even if it's their own religion they're inciting it against...

Infinite expansion as the rate that galaxies are going away from each other is speeding up somehow. Eventually all matter will split apart from itself into a huge (think all matter in the universe) uniform sub sub sub atomic plasma ball Zoom out from that plasma ball a near infinite amount and you have a superparticle in an infinite universe, which will explode into a big bang and create a new universe.

So if the CVA says they owe money to a bloke that doesn't exist, is it still valid?

"2) Websites with UGG in the name In Aug 2009 UGG® Australia issued an explicit conterfeit warning on their official website. To summarise: Any website’s domain name (thats the bit before the .com or .co.uk) that has the three letters ‘ugg’ in it, is not selling UGG® Australia brand. For example the website uggbootsforsale.com is therefore not legit because it has UGG in the domain name. This nows covers 90% of the sites you might be concerned about however we are not done quite yet some sites are even more shameless and use the legal name UGG® Australia and have a domain name without UGG in it." Definitely fake.

Well, after me explaining my position, some people seem to be, umm, accepting it? I'll never be able to please everyone, so this'll have to do I guess.

That's the trouble, anyone that's seen Brass Eye will have picked it up, a number of people haven't, and found the post offensive enough to report it. There was nothing to suggest the post was parody or satire itself, or that it was being quoted from somewhere, and it obviously came across as though they were Hypo's own words to some people. Basically, to put it in football terms, Hypo was probably trying to get the ball, but he went in with both feet, studs showing.
-
Sorry, yeah, I know, it's parodying it, point taken. However, taken out of context, as it was used at the time, it's racist.
-
The quote he used was from the 'cake' episode, and was used without the context of Brass Eye, and yes, it was racist. I haven't said that racism is ok in The Muppet Show, I've suggested that discussing an extreme comedy show would be more appropriate in there. As for Brass Eye's racism being ok in The Muppet Show, discussing that in context would be ok. Using the quote verbatim without context so that it could be described as racist itself still wouldn't be. I hope this clears up my reasoning for you.

Ok, here goes. For a start, there are three of us mods, this is a busy forum and we can't keep track of everything, so do report posts if you think they break the forum rules. We do this voluntarily and don't have time to check every last post, so any help you lot can give us is appreciated.. Hypo, I realise that racism wasn't intended, you were quoting a comedy show. Unfortunately for you, Brass Eye is racist itself and probably not suitable for all users of this forum, especially in the Lounge, so I'm not willing to undo the infraction, sorry. Maybe save Brass Eye for The Muppet Show eh? (it IS pretty funny after all, heavy electricity was my favourite) Last, I have a stinking cold, please try and make my job easy for the next few days?

I'm predicting 2-0 Saints, as the new manager syndrome (which might work against them as it's Ince) fails to overcome their injuries. And a leap up to 7th in the table.

I can project an image when I need to, dress up for a job interview etc. But among the friends where I don't need to do this, where I can just be myself be accepted as just me, those are the friends I value most of all.

OK, I'll take this slowly for you. When we took out the loan on the stadium, at THAT time, we COULD easily afford the repayments. Our position then changed AFTER we took out the loan with the relegation that resulted in us not being able to afford it. You took out a loan that you COULD NOT afford at THAT time, hoping that better players would change your position AFTER you took out your loan so you could then afford it. This is the difference that makes you lot financial cheaters, and us, unfortunate victims of circumstance. It's all in the timing. It's the difference between someone that loses their home because they lost their job and defaulted on a mortgage and someone that loses their home because they could never afford the mortage in the first place. One deserves sympathy, the other doesn't. Just a quick note people, I know PFC's opinions are drawing a lot of abuse right now from several different people and I can see why, but please try and argue against the point he's making rather than descending into personal abuse, even if you think he deserves it. (And thank you to the posters that have already done this.)

OK, that's it, I'm cracking down on this now! Closed as it's not really relevant to Saints any more (and all the egg jokes have already been used up)
-
Keegan! Well... If I'd been alive to see it anyway...
-
I wonder if Man Utd can actually afford those wages...
-
Never mind that, think instead about what kind of force we CAN be in the future, with Oxlande Chamberlain on the right, Lallana on the left... hopefully they're just the first our academy will produce with the investment going into it Depending on how tight the financial fair play laws get, it could end up being the academies that decide the superpowers of the English game over the coming years. And who knows, if the Leibherrs are serious about pushing us up the leagues over the coming years, maybe we'll see Bale in a Saints shirt again one day.
-
Alex OC is a special special talent. Potential to be better than Walcott or Bale I reckon, and at moments today there was some of the same magic in his boots that you see in Messi's... I wonder... I actually came away from the game bouncing, and it wasn't because we'd just pulled off a close win, it was because of how good I think he can be Of course, a bad performance from him on a cold rainy Tuesday night at some ground in the North and I'll probably change my mind again, but for now I'm hyped
-
I reckon he's most effective when he's allowed to swap positions along the midfield, he's got a good enough brain to find where the opposition are weak and he's our best player to exploit that weakness.
-
That refereeing performance was one of the very worst I've seen. I can't decide whether it was worse than the Leeds one or not. (Still, at least we won both of those games )
-
Not quite, the football league will kick them out if they're still in admin at the start of next season, and I'm pretty sure that they can't self fund in admin on non-league income.
-
I guess now we'll find out whether Chainrai passes the FaPPT.

You're laughing at us laughing at Pompey? Well at least there's one Pompey fan getting pleasure out of that thing down the other end of the M27...
