Hah! Persistence pays off

Alpine was a bit hasty with his doom and gloom I feel, most pundits despite the score feel England have been playing well, and haven't had the rub of the green. Could have been a completely different match with a couple of decisions going the other way... But the doom and gloom... t's justified now Can't believe I've been listening all night for no reward at all >_

Who knows how it would have gone if Hussey had been given out? This one's over now though I fear...
-
Whee, we needed those wickets I should go for a dump more often...
-
Trouble with snicko is we'd have been waiting until just now for the result of the appeal, takes faaar too long. Can't really blame the umpire for not giving that out.
-
From a Saints point of view, they beat us, while Brighton, Colchester and Charlton all took points off of them, if all results were to be expunged due to liquidation. One team is gonna fall eventually, unfortunately.
-
aww dammit
-
Win this appeal and I'd say we'd be the happier of the two teams right now...
-
Whee, fantastic start after lunch, Ponting the key wicket, Katich out quickly as well to leave us with two new batsmen... game on!

My current Ford KA I got for £600, the only problem I've had so far is a broken heater and a stolen aerial but it's really nice to drive ^^ (just annoying that it's cost me more than twice that to insure it >_

260 probably about the minimum we can get away with and stay competititve, the tail did well to scrape up to there. Gonna be tough now but at least we've given ourselves a chance for the rest of the match. I'm looking forward to seeing how well our bowlers can do with the ball already swinging.
-
Acheivement Unlocked... next we need to sneak up to 260...
-
dammit, it'll be an achievement just to scrape 250 from here... then again, maybe we'll be able to bowl just as well.

Never seen a team so highly rated play for the draw right from kick off before... We were all over them and should have won, even if they had have scored that penalty. Still not a disaster, and we have a few winnable fixtures now that should see us break into the top two if we can play well through December and then strengthen up front in January. Not sure what's wrong with Lambert this season, but to me it's gone on too long now to just be a simple dip in form. He was better tonight, but still below where he was most games last season. Best thing about tonight is that save by Kelvin, Brighton are on a run of three games without a win now... and us having kept that run going will see them fall back towards us, especially if they get one more bad result and it turns into a run of four, then it'll start affecting their confidence, seeing that teams are actually in striking distance.

Brilliant. For those that had missed it, read the names out loud...

That video is speeded up quite a lot to make it look more impressive, but it's still an awesome feat.

Another one a bit different you might want to read is The End of Eternity by Isaac Asimov. Only read it recently after it was found in the loft but it's a fantastic book, the Library probably has a copy.

Preparation for the new F1 season has already started. The Young Driver Test took place over the last two days, with Red Bull still fastest with their RB6, it'll truly go down as one of the great designs in F1 history. Dean Stoneman, a driver from Southampton and reigning Formula 2 Champion, did very well to go as fast as he did in the Williams. Daniel Riccardio could be one to watch, with his quickest time out of 77 laps faster than Vettel's qualifying lap on the same circuit, looks like the ability is there, next it'll be a question of consistency and doing it when the pressure is on. http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2010/11/11547.html http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2010/11/11553.html

not good enough for us when here but did it at a higher level XI
Jimmy_D replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
I remember people saying Peter Crouch wasn't good enough for us when we had him. -
Likely to have been subbed at half time on Saints' request as we have a match on Saturday.

Are we not taking it seriously, or are we trying to let things flow? We've found it far more effective to deal with things 'behind the scenes' when we need to, and hence, like a good referee, we're not being noticed as much We're also still learning, so if you feel we should be doing things differently, or spot something we've missed, let us know.

The rollcages in F1 cars are so strong now that, although spectacular, he was never in much danger of being injured in that crash. We haven't had a fatality for a long time now thank goodness, and it's because there's so much protection around the driver, the biggest risk of injury is due to the fact that the head is exposed. Being hit in the face by a front wing...

What a season for Red Bull. It was nice to see the last three World Champions up on the podium together at the end ^^ And hearing Vettell recall thinking 'We must be in a bloody good position then' in the post race conference might have been the greatest moment of this season lol. I honestly thought Schumacher was about to be decapitated when that car drove up towards his cockpit... scariest moment of the season by far. Watching Alonso today was like watching Hamilton in '07, with the title seemingly in his grasp, and then slipping away because he couldn't pass the midfield... On to next season, there's a whole winter of the development race to try and keep track of now
