  1. The point is he is a poor mans Nani. Plenty of promise and excitement with no end product, except the occasional screamer into the top corner. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes, but unless other squirrels do the nut hunting the baby squirrels don't get much to eat.
  2. Possibly the worst miss with the direst consequences since Leon Best put his penalty into orbit. That game was pivotal imo.
  3. Really good internet stream for the Rochdale game Saturday night - link was on the game thread on the main board. Saints always seem to save their most inept performances for when I get to watch them.
  4. NC needs to take a long hard look at that watch and the Rochdale performance. And then do something about it. The time for judging NC is right on us. Right now. He might have been the cause of unprecented investment in the club but the fans have invested a lot more emotionally over the years and will be mad as hell if he turns out to be another RL. The photographer ban was not a good sign. And neither is the start of this season.
  5. It's been all downhill for as long as I can remember. Rochdale just might be the lowest point so far. Though judging from past experience it's unlikely to mark a turning point in our ongoing slide into crapness. We were looking like starting the climb back up the slope but we're on our arses again sliding uncontrollably down the mountain. We need some leadership on and off the pitch.
  6. Dean thinks we fell the wrong side of a 'fine line'. The only fine line is whether they will play for you or not Dean. The performance fell the wrong side of a chasm. I had the misfortune of sitting through the full game rather than the sanitised BBC highlights. Apparently he's seen us put in far worse performances - my God you guys back in Blighty must have seen some shockers. Apparently we only let ourselves down in the final third - agreed if you include the final third at both ends. And throw in the middle third as well. If his idea of success is about getting balls and bodies into the box it's a bit of a thin strategy. Particularly if you have Jason Puncheon as the body on the end of those balls. And the masterstroke was taking off AOC as he wanted to 'make things happen'. From the Steve Wigley book of football tactics that one. Cortese sort it out ffs.
  7. If he ever gets on to Soccer am they need to take that blimp down. When he shoots they need one of those golf cameramen who are good at picking up the ball with lots of shots of sky. When he has a lot of possession in a game, we do nothing as a unit, which is telling. I wish he was injured, not Lallana.
  8. If things don't improve......we are going down. But thankfully there is scope for, and the probability of improvement.
  9. Reminded me of Rooney at the World Cup. In fact Saints reminded me of England at the World Cup.
  10. Too early to judge Guly but yesterday he looked one of our better players. AOC was the only Saints player other than Guly who looked like a professional footballer. The rest were not up to Football League standard.
  11. Stay off the drugs son. We were absolutely terrible. Poor first touches everywhere, dreadful passing, lack of movement, no idea what to do with the ball, woeful shooting, falling over the ball, falling over ourselves, getting in each others way, gash goalkeeping, unfit, running the ball out of play when under no pressure, schoolboy defending, arguing with each other. Relegation beckons unless things improve.
  12. Boy do we need some new players. Puncheon is not good enough by a country mile, and we are completely toothless up front. We create nothing, defend like amateurs and freeze whenever we create an opening. We fall over the ball, run it out of play, knock the pass a yard too far, lack a first touch. Just fecking useless from 1 to 11. Rip it up and start again.
  13. Relegation form and no mistake. We are just awful.
  14. Cortese needs to appoint a first class manager this week, no more prevarication. And the new Manager needs to get some of the dross out of the team. Starting with Puncheon who was completely woeful today and continues to get most of our possession and p1ss it away. And we need to try to find a way to have some shots. Again Puncheons shooting was abysmal, just terrible. My Gran could have scored that one from 4 yards. And she's dead.
  15. The only thing more pathetic than that 'performance' is Cortese whose pants are now well and truly round his ankles. He needs to turn a rather pathetic acorn into a raging stiffy like ****ing yesterday or he is going to be as unpopular as Lowe.
  16. We look absolutely terrible. Wtf has Cortese done? Mid table if we are lucky with this pile of poo. Puncheon is todays clown. Those of you defending him as the only one creating anything need to realise nothing has come of any of his many possessions - and he has denied others in the side time on the ball.
  17. That miss of Puncheons was unbelievable. He needs to be dragged off, taken to the showers and given a bloody good kicking. What an arse.
  18. We need a big second half or Cortese is going to get a hammering he will never forget.
  19. This ref looks a right numpty already. Trying to give Dale a chance I reckon. ****.
  20. Jeez - the guy hasn't even had 90 minutes yet. Give him a chance.
  21. Wheeler Dealer Redknapp. I lolled. ****ing priceless.
  22. No better than Pardew. What would be the point?
  23. Set up for our favourite scoreline I feel. 3-1 to Saints, Lambert to hit form. This is a pivotal game in our season - win and we all get another week to find a manager feeling better about things - lose and the sky will be falling for sure. Get behind the lads for the full 90 - then if we don't get the 3 points feel free to boo the directors box. COYR. WIFM.
  24. Still can't believe Cortese didn't have anyone lined up - it makes the sackings look real stupid, knee jerk and done with no strategic intent. having said that, if the lads beat Rochdale I'll feel a bit better, but will still be looking for an improvement on Pards as the appointment. If we don't beat Rochdale I am going to start getting seriously ****ed off.
  25. If you're a bird I hope it's a scorcher
