That as well, but Baj is working on that, not me.

Thought I'd give everyone a brief update on what we've got planned for the site in the not-too-distant future. Firstly, there is a brand new version of the forum software available, which I have been working with to try to integrate the prediction league, the fixture list, a stats section, etc. Unfortunately, even though they've released a "production" version of the software, I'm not happy enough with the quality of it at the moment - there are loads of fundamental bugs in it which would cause us problems, so I'm not prepared to install it until those bugs have been fixed. That means that I will probably reschedule the major upgrade (and it will be a VERY major upgrade) for the summer. When that upgrade happens, I'm hoping the following will be available: Rogues Gallery Away Ground Guide, with interactive map, directions, pubs, hotels, public transport links, etc Player Profiles Full match reports with lineups and stats An updated smiley list Er, that's probably it for now, can't think of anything else I was supposed to do

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm there? -
The article doesn't actually say whether they'll be locked down or not, tbf.

Have heard the same. If the reason given is true, Cortese really must have been having "one of those weeks" - it happened not long after the Echo ban.

Watford are a listed company - plenty of attention in their direction from the regulators...

Seems fairly obvious. Who out of the Pompey squad would be able to construct proper sentences rather than the usual footballer soundbites and might have a direct line into the Guardian sport desk? Perhaps someone who writes a weekly column for their Sunday edition...
-
Playing squad worth £50-55m  Under "firesale" conditions, they can scrub 60% of that value off to begin with.

Hmmm... http://www.pfcfinancialservices.co.uk The irony

I'll be forever suspicious of supposed "big players" going out of their way to put their side of events to prominent fans or fan groups after the bull**** we took from all comers in the last few years. If he wants to help the club, why doesn't he just write off the debt that's owed to him? Simple answer, because he's not actually that bothered.

With the cold weather, they could use the excuse that their assets have been frozen...

Why were you out driving in conditions like that? I wouldn't dream of attempting to drive if I knew the road conditions were actually dangerous. It's all well and good driving in heavy rain or fog, cars have features built into them to deal with them as far as they can (with a bit of driver common sense as well), but thick ice is so unpredictable and dangerous, I'd go as far as to say that it's irresponsible to attempt to drive in those conditions and I wouldn't be surprised if insurance companies took the same view.

The company will keep the records, yes, but Gaydamak doesn't own the club anymore, so he doesn't have access to them anymore. Apparently. :---)
-
That is genuinely laughable. I have a copy of their 2007 accounts (out of morbid curiousity more than anything else) and their debt stood at £67m, with assets only worth £33m

Doubt it, they only signed him a year earlier from Tooting & Mitcham, so their contribution to his development will have been fairly negligible.

Perhaps it's the long-awaited signing by the ticket office for the package containing the MK Dons away allocation...

I thought he was only going to get to number 4 if he beat Taylor?

Seems the "normal" employees at PFC were paid on Sunday night. Pompey have of course absolved themselves of any blame whatsoever saying that there was an error with the file that was lodged with the bank, and that they'd reimburse any employee who experienced any knock-on effects as a result. One amusing comment on Pompey Online:
-
Or that they're not capable of driving at the speed limit because they are unable to handle the multitude of often-simultaneous tasks required.

Waddell would be tolerable if he could remove his head from Phil Taylor's arse.

No, I'm suggesting that Daddy doesn't need to buy the club because he actually already owns it, but has been concealing this fact ever since Junior "bought" the club from Milan Mandaric. Vast sums of money were injected to fund player transfers, but they would never have expected (or attempted) to get all their money back. In order to launder "clean" money, you need to put in a lot more dirty money. So say, for argument's sake, Junior puts in £50m of dirty money, leave it to slosh around for a year or two and then all of a sudden decides he's not willing to fund the club anymore and wants to sell (this just happens to coincide with Daddy's assets being frozen). To make it look like you're desperate to sell, you agree to hand the shares over for a nominal fee with the proviso that the new "owner" assumes the liability for the debt, much of which is actually owed to Junior in the form of director loans. If that debt ever gets repaid properly, all of a sudden Junior has extracted "clean" money from TV revenue, transfer fees and the pockets of the fans in exchange for the dirty injection earlier. Even if the club goes into administration and a buyer only offers to pay creditors 10p in the pound, he's still getting clean money out of the deal, so he's probably not bothered either way.
