  1. Given that the amount required is variable depending on the player(s) chosen, how about: 1. Contributions are variable, ranging from £1 to a maximum of, say, £50. For every £1 contributed, you get one entry into the draw for the seats at the end of season dinner and the signed shirt. 2. A deadline is set for contributions, after which we then ascertain which players are a) available, and b) affordable within the money received. A poll can then be run for a few days to choose the player(s) sponsored. Thoughts?
  2. Like a rock. I'm surprised Sunderland have offered that much for the player as well - clubs with known financial difficulties are usually easy pickings.
  3. Well he certainly didn't look as though he was at Bournemouth, but that's the only friendly I've managed to get to so far. If we give him a new deal, I think Stern John will be a better bet for top scorer.
  4. A pretty apathetic front line as well
  5. Can't see anyone being given a five-year contract, either, to be honest.
  6. Well he's been batting in the nets, so I still expect him to play some part in this series. I thought he looked in decent nick at Cardiff as well.
  7. Press conference at 11, where he'll announce he's retiring from Test cricket after the Ashes series. No great surprise really.
  8. No. You'll need a separate underground ticket.
  9. Well that's conclusive then...
  10. Yep, booked direct with Virgin, collected my tickets from the machine at Southampton Central when I got back from work last night
  11. I don't think that's possible, to be fair
  12. More to the point, I don't get why people appear to be rejoicing at the idea, given what we've just been through ourselves. What short memories...
  13. 105 overs per day.
  14. Squad announced today for the second test, no surprises. 14-man squad comprising the 11 who played at Cardiff plus Harmison, Onions and Bell. Flintoff is an injury doubt, he's having a scan on his knee - apparently the same knee he injured in the IPL. Great. We've not beaten the Aussies at Lord's since 1934
  15. I am now also booked on that one - was going to stay overnight but will be much cheaper to do a day-trip. Think I'll stay at a mate's in London on the Friday night so I don't have to get up too early...
  16. Dowie wouldn't be a bad shout, IMO. Got Oldham to the play-offs in this division in his first managerial job, so he knows the league.
  17. I would like to think he has more sense than that. Here's hoping I'm right... Don't forget that Adams was linking himself with the Celtic job when they had absolutely no intention of going anywhere near him, so I suspect these links are just him trying to whore himself around.
  18. I think the corners that were closed last season will remain so until demand is definitely there. From an e-mail I got from David Luker, these are the blocks that count as "wing" blocks: 4, 10-11, 27-28, 34.
  19. Or if you book in advance, you can get a return for £4, although you are booked on a specific train in each direction.
  20. Presume you mean the Queens Park? I would be very surprised if that wasn't home-only as well. I might head towards the town centre and get a taxi to the ground.
  21. As far as I'm aware, yes.
  22. Should also add that the Family Enclosure has been extended to cover the entire Chapel Stand.
