  1. I'm going to defend the mods here I had over 5,000 posts on SaintsForever under a different username. Needless to say, it was considerably more edgy and funny than this site Unfortunately, those days are gone In the early days of internet forums, you could get away with near the knuckle humour and threads that get modified to the point of utter boredom now It's not the fault of Baj or Steve, it's just that potential lawsuits didn't exist with regards to internet forums 7-12 years ago
  2. My sister lives in Beech Close West Molesey, and she has successfully raised her 11 year old boy to support Saints. I saw him recently with the sash shirt and Lallana on the back. Her 8 year old has plumped for Chelsea though She's mentioned numerous times how many Saints fans she's met living in Surrey / South London
  3. I was amazed when I first saw him play. A Czech U21 striker, playing for Tottenham! You would expect him to brilliant wouldn't you, but the guy couldn't trap a bag of cement
  4. Paterson scored Saints first goal in the Liebherr/Cortese reign It's seems a long time ago now I think he's a confidence player. He's never going to be world class, but if he's playing in a team regularly and feels wanted, he may surprise some people. Stockport might be the perfect club for him
  5. I liked Rasiak Yes, he was bloody lazy Yes, he was bloody slow But, he knew where the goal was, and Burley seemed to get the best of him
  6. I liked him He was incredibly unpredictable, but in League 1 that was one of his strengths I'm not sure why we didn't take up the option to buy him, I get the impression that Pardew didn't possibly fancy him enough
  7. Is this really the same player that Rupert secured, removing future Gareth Bale clauses for? Conceded 10 goals in two matches for a team bottom of the Conference
  8. Andreas Jakobbson - The worst thing to arrive in Southampton since the 1493 Syphilis outbreak
  9. It's the Queensland State League, not exactly A-League is it? I feel sorry for Jamie White, his career was destroyed by injuries
  10. I remember when Southampton had an immense red light district!! We used to go to the Tiberius club in Bevois Valley, and the girls used to stand outside waiting for lucky punters
  11. There are worrying signs with Kelvin The first thing a goalkeeper loses is the juice in his legs He seems slow off the mark, and appears to be quite flat footed at times too Perhaps this is Bart's time to step up
  12. It's a shame West Quay destroyed the Dog & Duck and Fridays/Barbarella's Had some excellent nights there
  13. It worked a treat for Eamon & the follow up from Frankie I don't think it shocks anymore though
  14. When I was younger we used to drink in the Spa Tavern Can anyone remember the name of the pub, that was situated in an alley behind the Spa leading out onto Southampton Precinct? It has slipped my mind completely
  15. I feel sorry for Andy Scott because he got Brentford promoted from L2 They are a smallish London club with no money and a ground capacity of just 12000 What do these Chairman expect - Champions League?
  16. My mum had a Mk1 Cortina in the late 60's Even now she reckons it's the best car she ever had
  17. I notice he won the MOM award on his debut for Eastbourne last night He let in 3 goals, but apparantely it could have been 7 or 8 without him
  18. Forecast must have had great ability when younger. Nobody gets into Tottenham's academy without having shown the attributes of making a good player. He might need to rebuild his career and confidence at a club where he's valued and is first choice This clearly won't be Saints, but he still has every chance of developing into a decent keeper in the Conference
  19. I'm not so sure My missus is from Preston, so hearing her families Dad & Brother's thoughts on Chaplow is quite interesting The Preston fans absolutely hate him, and on more than 1 occassion he faked an injury to leave the field That doesn't sound like a skipper to me
  20. First Saints Game:- 1982 Saints v Aston Villa. I always remember the huge amount of Villa fans, they must have had 4000+. The police put some of them in the Milton with us First Away Game:- August 1985 Ipswich. We'd recently moved to Huntingdon, so it was our nearest away ground Best Away Trip:- Liverpool FA Cup 5th Round 1990. We lost 3-0, but it was my first alcohol binged away trip with my mates Favourite Saints Memories:- FA Cup Semi-Final vs Watford Worst Saints Memories:- 4-1 Fratton Park. I knew after watching such a gutless, spineless performance that we were down Preferred Strand St. Mary's:- Itchen Preferred Stand The Dell:- East St. Mary's or the Dell:- St. Mary's by a country mile Best current player:- Adam Lallana Favourite Players technically other than Le Tiss:- Pahars, Frank Worthington Favourite Players cult wise other than Le Tiss:- Keegan, Beattie, Danny Wallace Favourite unsung heroes:- Dave Armstrong, Glenn Cockerill Favourite Manager:- Lawrie Mac Most hated Players:- David Speedie & Nathan Dyer Worst Players:- Andreas Jakobsson Worst Manager:-Redknapp Where will Saints be in 5 years time realistically:- Bottom 6 Premier League
  21. I always felt the vindictive comments towards him were totally unfair He was always 100% committed, and was a model professional Good luck to the fella
  22. It's a very thin line though Nick I work in an office with 3 girls who love to dish out lewd comments to the blokes It's a shame that life has become so mundane that office banter like this has become unacceptable
  23. Sid James will be turning in his grave
  24. He's desperately unlucky These comments were off air, so it's a huge overreaction I'm sure most of us have made either lewd comments to a colleague, or negative comments about women in football
  25. What are you talking about? Charlton didn't return to The Valley until 1992 We beat them 4-2 at Selhurst
