Cortese has left Southampton Football Club - Officially Confirmed
CityRanger replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
ML himself was no Brad Pitt but no one gave a sh!t, quite rightly. Why would you? Why criticise KL? WTF has that got to do with whats going on here? -
Corteses previous talk of a plan B, his interviews with Jim White, gushing articles by the BBC guy and sworn loyalty by all players when signing contracts have all been leading up to this dramatic conclusion it appears. The PR tactics have given him some leverage but the money talks and he's just an employee of KL at the end of the day.

Perry McMillan and a couple of others outside St Marys talking to tv cameras apparently...

The spanish archer for the purple archer then.

Good spot, we said that ourselves at the time. Absolutely vital saves at the end when the pressure was on. Love Boruc!

The 2nd Burnley goal is a great illustration of Jos and Yoshidas failings. Jos gets left for dead as you point out. Yoshida? He does his classic disappearing act. Watch him back off, Dejan would have smelt the danger and been over covering for Jos. Then when the goal goes in Yoshida looks over his shoulder. No-one there mate, you should have known that and covered Jos. He's a fraud of a defender, as I've said before. Winds me right up! Apart from that some splendid goals from Saints.

The last bit "if Saints get the striker they want" is interesting. Obviously depends if that quote really is exclusively from a "club insider" though.

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 2-3 Aston Villa
CityRanger replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Been saying since he first played for us that Yoshida is nowhere near a Prem center back. He's a fraud of a defender, almost always costing a goal. Our fortress like defence has crumbled and with Boruc out its like front doors have been blown wide open. Center back and decent keeper cover STILL required (Gazza did nothing to hint that he has improved in a year). Cracking entertainment tonight though! -
He looks like an incredible prospect. I read that he has an £18m release clause in the West Ham contract. There will be many suitors in January I'm sure. Can't see him coming here though somehow.

^Osvaldo himself has retweeted that photo with the above comment by a fan. Maybe he had a gun to his head though...

http://plainsofalmeria.co.uk/2013/11/28/the-harding-perspective-southampton-match-preview/ An interesting and quite detailed look ahead at Sundays game from a Chelsea blogger. There's so much of this stuff about at the moment and although it's because we're "flavour of the month" I find it refreshing from the national newspaper articles that we have been force fed for so long. Hope you enjoy it.

Corkys missus had their first sprog at the weekend (he put pic up on instagram). His 'injury' may have been so he could attend the birth. We are spoilt having a player of his calibre as back up to Big Vic and Morgs.

I actually prefer the foreign commentary. Had Portuguese today. They still say the players names but you haven't got to put up with all the claptrap that uk commentators come out with, which I find distracting. But fair play to Mr Dad here for his advice, he's taking streaming to another level!

Dejan Lovren, our leader at the back this season, may have given Boruc a shout to clear that first time if he was playing. We'll never know if he would have listened though... I was warned about Boruc doing this when he signed by a mate who watches a lot of Celtic. At least a couple of times a season apparently. He couldn't believe he'd lasted so long! Big Vic immense today. Wilshere bouncing off him first half and lying prone after was very entertaining. His passing today was excellent too. Another mature display from Ward-Prowse showing his tactical maturity by slotting in at right back. (As Gerrard has several times in his career too).

No signings in January according to Poch: http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/nov/21/southampton-premier-league-arsenal-pochettino?CMP=twt_gu Youth to be given its chance.

"The away end is wedged between the two vociferous areas of the Saints support". " Once Southampton took the lead, I was impressed with their persistent singing" I believe that is a nod to us mighty Block 2 ers?! Good little vid, thanks FF.

Following 6 games after Hull... Arsenal Away Chelsea Away Villa Home Man City Home Newcastle Away Spurs Home You are correct Deano!

JWP was excellent in the first half. England dropped the tempo at the start of the 2nd half and he never got quite as involved after that.

Got the same call as the OP today as well. They are getting hot on this. Similar situation to the OP, my boy and 3 mates bought tickets, all under 17. 3 are season ticket holders and they used mine for one more. Think the online buying may have been abused in the past to prompt this vigilance...The loopholes are closing, be warned!

Worked today so not seen live streams, highlights or whatever. But at the end of the day 3 games in, 2 of them away, we're 9th. I know there's a few games tomorrow but its not a bad start. Manager needs to find the right balance with the new players, once he's got that right we should be ok (top half, just). Personally I would like to see Clyne in the team if he's fit as he was my player of the season last year, an absolute quality signing he was. Gives us some bite.
