  1. I think part of the issue at grass roots level, is attitudes like this. There's a lot of players /parents who seem to think they know best. Whilst I don't know the exact details of this particular person, I suspect, rather than being an ego-maniac, he was probably just somebody who was applying the rules of the game to his best ability. I doubt many referees get in to the job purely to piss people off. As a player/spectator/fan, try not to take refereeing decisions so personally and/or seriously. Having said all that, there is occasionally justification for calling the ref a wanker.
  2. People who sign off emails / text messages with a single letter. J.

Seems a bit excessive. Why didn't they just get someone to key it.
  4. Less than an hour or so is my guess.
  5. Bit shit really when you think of the minuscule amount it is in relation to player wages.
  6. Presumably the media (and others 🧐) want Villa to win tonight as a good news story for the Royal Family....
  7. Is it sad that I look back on the Teresa May days with (relative) fondness? Whilst she was a bit dull, I do actually think she had the best interests of the country at heart and was in a near impossible position with the Brexit negotiations. Doesn't look like we'll have another PM like that for a while...
  8. The Daily Mail is frothing at the mouth about this today, making it front page news. When a satirist causes outrage by simply repeats and agreeing with what the candidates have said, it's fair to say there's a problem with the candidates, not the comedian.
  9. Cheapskate, can't even be arsed to get his PA team to take out a page on the Echo 🙄
  10. Pompey club statement https://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2022/august/statement-from-andrew-cullen/ To paraphrase: "Pompey fans are the bestest. Well done for being the bestest. But also you've been fucking bell ends, as usual".
  11. Who needs money when you can live with the best moment of your career? https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/nostalgia/ex-portsmouth-midfielder-david-norris-i-ruined-billy-sharps-southampton-glory-and-it-was-the-best-moment-of-my-career-2860328
  12. Over the past couple of days I've seen quite a few videos online of idiots at festivals (e.g. Reading / Leeds) mindlessly throwing bottles of piss at strangers and getting into fights/borderline riots. Unless I've missed it, I haven't really seen any mention of this in the news, despite the huge attendances at such events. If similar behaviour was witnessed at professional football matches, I'm relatively sure it would be front page news for multiple days. As someone who's never really been to a "proper" festival, is this behaviour fairly standard, or something that seems to have got progressively worse in the last couple of years? From the videos I've seen, if it's a regular occurance, its only matter of time before someone gets killed/seriously injured by an erroneous former bottle of Strongbow filled with fresh piss. (I should clarify, before anyone thinks I'm a mad football holligan, I think all such behaviour is the work of twats so I'm impartial. Just relatively intrigued by the mundset of both sides).
  13. Great goal, but likely to be out for a few weeks according to Ralph...
  14. Armando Broj-anonymous.
  15. Looking through Netflix/Prime etc. it seems most top flight clubs have a behind the scenes documentary about them. I've seen ones on Arsenal, Spurs, City, United, Palace, Leeds, and West Ham to name a few. Even the likes of Sunderland have one. When will there finally be one on Saints? I remember in the early 2000's there was a programme at about 8am every Saturday on Sky Sports with interviews with Rupert Lowe and other behind the scenes footage of the club shop and training ground. An example of Lowe's vision for the club being ahead of its time?
  16. Upside down speed camera signs.
  17. I think his touch before the Aribo goal was intentional too and not a bad assist itself.
  18. Has Aribo accidently shown a bit too much positivity?
  19. Sorry. Just popped back on to see if anyone else had made an obvious gag about there already been too much shit on the pitch on matchdays yet?
  20. If you water the pitch with sewage, they'd all get polio now.
  21. Does the hosepipe ban particularly affect Saints? For example, can the pitch still be watered or is the an exemption for that sort of thing? Likewise at Staplewood?
  22. They're still in League 1 (having finished lower last season than when we played them) and haven't won a league game yet this season (having most recently drawn 0-0 with Lincoln)... Don't disagree with the but about Saints though.
