  1. You could be in danger of believing your own hype. You can't be getting much course work done recently with all your keyboard thumping.
  2. Another illuminating contribution. Keep it up.
  3. Indeed. Walt doesn't seem to grasp the most basic concept that folks are punch-drunk to his tiresome diatribe and any salient points he does have get passed on by.
  4. You don't think he's doing all those things already? Seriously?
  5. Thread can be closed then.....at least till Saturday evening
  6. ...and breathe. You missed my point. I agree Fox is not good enough but he is shown to be even weaker due to lack of cover down the left. When I referred to our 'failure to strengthen in this area' I was meaning LB and not LM. Basically he's trying his best so what will we achieve by continually berating him? Diddly squat.
  7. He gets little or no protection from those in front of him and as has been said many a player better than Fox would be exposed. The formation / lack of protection and our failure to strengthen in this area are not the fault of Fox.

    Cortese

The jury is out. There is little or no 'evidence' available to us mere mortals to make an informed decision yet a few take the approach that if they say it enough it must be fact. I am completely ambivalent towards Cortese. I know a few people connected with the club in very recent times and it's fair to say there is a mixed bag of opinion towards him both positive and negative. Maybe we got too far ahead of the 5 year plan, maybe he's not the man to take us forward but maybe he is. The reality is, despite the insistance of a few, none of us actually know.

    Cortese

can you provide some evidence to the contrary please. Evidence that is, not supposition. Just interested.
  10. Judging by your postings I took it as read that you already knew. Is that not the case then?
  11. It's a good job he's not SFC's FD. He seems to be able to make 2+2 = 5
  12. And you know that for sure do you? That's not what he said if you read your own quote. Do you know that this is not an accounting practice rather than a debt loan in the true sense. You don't have to answer, it's a rhetorical question.
  13. And your point is what Walt?
  14. Had a good friend at the club the same time as Budgie. Mad as box of frogs by all accounts.
  15. Nicola's had it removed He's coming for Bearsy too
  16. On many an occasion. Didn't get much playing time under 'Arry whilst here though if I recall correctly?
  17. Remember how hard he tried to get rid of Bale early on, now's he's touting him as one of, if not the, best player in the world.
  18. One million percent
  19. The way we've been defending we need someone with the stature of Wayne Shaw in goal not a skinny 17 stone fella.
  20. Don't get me wrong I'm not promoting his return. I have utter disdain for the guy but the more I consider the parallels of the two clubs in terms of structure, figurehead personalities (alledgedly), money spent and league positions (at the comparative time) then it's an intriguing scenario.......
  21. Maybe never 'full' but I think it's highly likely he was very influential in the players which came to the club. It's important to remember the dire straits Spurs were in when he went there. Redknapp had the bargaining power not Levy. I think it's also likely that, eventually, Levy wanted to revert the structure of the club to the continenal model and and hence why the relationship deteriorated in recent times leading to Redknapp's sacking.
  22. We're digressing somewhat although there are some interesting parallels between the two clubs. Redknapp went to Spurs when they were in the bottom 3 having tried the Director of Football ('Continental way') with Damien Comolli (?) and Levy needed a quick fix. There's no way Redknapp would have gone there with that set-up and it seemed he got his way, convinced Levy he could sort the situation - as long as he had full control.....
  23. I would imagine it would take a lot of 'give' on both sides and maybe they could put up with each other in the short term for a mutual benefit but I couldn't see it lasting long. Maybe it could be the stop-gap we need but it didn't work out last time Harry came to save us.
  24. ...until Levy had had enough of him
  25. If we are to believe some of the stories of Cortese stewardship and management style it seems inconceivable that he and Redknapp could work together. If, of course, that is the case.
