Don't get me wrong I'm not promoting his return. I have utter disdain for the guy but the more I consider the parallels of the two clubs in terms of structure, figurehead personalities (alledgedly), money spent and league positions (at the comparative time) then it's an intriguing scenario.......

Maybe never 'full' but I think it's highly likely he was very influential in the players which came to the club. It's important to remember the dire straits Spurs were in when he went there. Redknapp had the bargaining power not Levy. I think it's also likely that, eventually, Levy wanted to revert the structure of the club to the continenal model and and hence why the relationship deteriorated in recent times leading to Redknapp's sacking.

We're digressing somewhat although there are some interesting parallels between the two clubs. Redknapp went to Spurs when they were in the bottom 3 having tried the Director of Football ('Continental way') with Damien Comolli (?) and Levy needed a quick fix. There's no way Redknapp would have gone there with that set-up and it seemed he got his way, convinced Levy he could sort the situation - as long as he had full control.....

I would imagine it would take a lot of 'give' on both sides and maybe they could put up with each other in the short term for a mutual benefit but I couldn't see it lasting long. Maybe it could be the stop-gap we need but it didn't work out last time Harry came to save us.
