  1. Are you definite? He met all your criteria.
  2. Officially he is. He was given 24 hrs notice, his contract runs till 10.00pm tonight.
  3. Peter Taylor - sacked yesterday as Bahrain coach. That's not a 'Europe mainstream league'
  4. Sort of a cross between Wes Brown, Robbie Savage and Alan Biley. Wierd.
  5. He was back in the media spotlight this weekend doing some punditry, maybe he's putting himself in the frame for a new job somewhere....
  6. Fingers crossed. Sweepers et al
  7. It will be a Continental manager, possibly Italian, who is used to working in a southern Continental club structure where he is Head Coach and that alone.
  8. Didn't we chase Buttner for weeks on end?
  9. Adkins rates him so much he tried to get a replacement during the summer and has been happy to play the right-back there instead of a fit specialist left-back.
  10. I think we'll see a Continental style appointment, possibly an Italian who will be Head Coach but no more. He will be in charge of the team on a Saturday, no more no less.
  11. It's not just the formation that's not his choice.....
  12. That's not really the point as I'm sure you know. If you are the Manager and you make the decisions and have full control then on your head be it. If you're just a figure-head a-la the traditional Continental model then it's a bit harsh to take the can.
  13. Adkins gave Nicola a list of 12 players to go for in the summer. He didn't get any of them.
  14. I know it has been discussed in length in the past and often poo-poo'd but I'm becoming increasingly worried that Nigel is not calling the shots at this football club.
  15. Morning Walter. Question. All this attention seeking. Did something truly awful happen in your formative years?
  16. Do you seriously mean this?
  17. I needed a cure for insomnia
  18. You should mention this type of thing in more of your posts. It's quite insightful.

  20. Wonderful insight.
  21. Pompey had the 6th highest wage bill in the 2007/8 season and I recall West Ham's being higher than that a few years earlier under his tutelage. Neither club got anywhere near a top 6 spot in those years. Of course Redknapp can't be blamed in the entirety for these and other episodes but it can't be ignored that wherever he goes this situation arises and normally ends in tears.
  22. Hello Walt. In all cases it's the Chairman, afterall the buck stops there. Invariably though he has them over a barrel. In every job he's ever had he's complained about the size of his squad - performances are never his fault. The Chairman can say 'no, enough is enough' - seemingly what 'Daniel' ultimately did. But in the meantime the Chairman is left to pander to Arry whose no doubt telling him without these squad additions the team will be relegated / won't make the champions league etc. And the 25 man squad ruling came in when? 2010?
  23. He always seems to end up with huge squads on high salaries with long term deals though. That's what seeems to hurt the clubs he's with / left rather than the actual transfer payments.
