Sorry if already posted but there's a new article on SSN ref Adkins http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_6364741,00.html ...reading between the lines I'd say he's definitely been talking to Southampton

Whatever happened to Friday? It always used to be Friday!
-
Maybe Reed is a candidate himself.....
-
SSN also reporting it to be this week with Howe and Adkins both mentioned http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11719_6362090,00.html
-
Sounds more than plausible.

I see McLeish has had a pretty significant bust-up with his Chairman so based on this 'fact' alone it is clear he is coming to St Marys...cough
-
I honestly expected us to announce a replacement within hours which clearly wasn't the case, maybe there was a last minute hitch with the candidate who was lined up or maybe it was unplanned (at that time) afterall

Sorry if this has already been posted as I haven't read all the posts but Martin Samuel wrote a short article in today's Mail that was quite scathing of Cortese to say the least. He pointed the finger to a text that NC alledgedly send AP after the Rovers game asking him why Guly only got 5 minutes, it would seem NC was behind the signing rather than AP. Anyway apologies again if this is old 'news'

I've hardly posted in months so I'm not sure if I should be offended or not lol! Blimey it's all going on with our little club isn't it!

Markus Liebherr RIP. All tributes here please.

I haven't posted for months but felt compelled to after hearing the terrible news. RIP Markus Sir you saved The Saints and will forever be in our hearts. -
It's a shame he hasn't conducted himself in the same way as Paul Hart did in similar circumstances. Constant moaning and belly-aching about the 'woe is me' situation. Can hardly be an inspiration to an already demotivated bunch and now he has basically thrown his toys out of the pram. All very sad...but quite funny.

At the impressionable age in question then putting them in a lodge would be a disastrous idea. As has been said, this idea has gone on for years and years and seems pretty succesful.

This has gone on for years...not a new idea at all.

Jaidi + Fonte = the new Svensson + Lundekvam ?

Good covering John, if it hadn't been for those pesky kids you would have got away with that one. -
After Walton delayed the corner kick to tell off the naughty squabbling boys you just knew he was going to give a free kick as soon as the ball was played into the box. An awful performance, the only thing that probably went in our favour was not sending off Puncheon after what looked like a clear straight arm to the head of the Leeds lad who ended up going off. Not read the whole thread but I assume Walton is now reffing League 1 as he's had a host of poor performances in the higher leagues?
-
In broad agreement. Best game I've seen Jaidi have by a long way. Puncheon was fantastic in the first half but seemed to run out of puff in the second and was a bit surprised he didn't get replaced. Lambert has been immense for the last few games (and most of the season for that matter), I didn't think he was any better today but he certainly seems much happier alongside Barnard than he ever has with Connolly. Just a really good solid all-round performance today, fantastic.

If the weather picks up there's three weeks or so of good growing conditions up for grabs so hopefully things will improve. Not great at the moment though.

As always you miss the point completely. I was not comparing him in terms of ability to MLT but more that he lacks in areas just as some other players in our history have. And the tongue in cheek reference to KD was in terms of scoring goals - again to highlight no one is the complete package.
-
I remember some ropey player we had, MLT or something, didn't track back, couldn't tackle and had no pace but somehow he scratched a living at the top level. Kelvin's goal record is poor as well. You can't have every single attribute but you can use what you have to the best of your ability and still be an outstanding player. I'll leave this debate there.
-
I think it's either an urban myth or people who don't get to see the games that think he doesn't put the effort in. He's been tracking back week in week out as well as being the most creative player and probably most naturally talented in the team. If he could add better ball striking when in front of goal and therefore a higher goal tally then he's going to become a very fine player and will play in much higher leagues than present.
-
Don't agree with your assesment on Lallana, his work rate has equalled others for some time now, he is becoming the complete player. Would agree with your view on KD though Nick and I think this is a position that needs a review come the summer. Not sure who we would go for though?
-
I don't think Lambert needs any protection! As has been said earlier in the thread, the reason he doesn't get too many fouls is that he is strong as an ox and just shrugs them off. Many would go down or make a meal of it in similar circumstances but he stands his ground and stays on his feet. Whether he is doing himself / the team an injustice with such 'honesty' I'm not sure.
-
It's very easy that one. Has to be Barnard as clearly Lambert is much happier with him alongside. They have built up a great partnership and understanding. Although Connolly was awesome when he played those same games were when Lambert seem a little off key playing the deeper role which just doesn't seem to suit him.
-
Not easy to single anyone out Daren, the whole team were superb, I like Harding although he does seem to lose his player a during the game on occasions - although not these last two!
