  1. Another great performance, thoroughly enjoyed that. If I'm being totally honest I think Saturday's performance just shaded it but that would be splitting hairs and clearly Huddersfield had a lot more about them than Walsall. Barnard and Lambert look really comfortable together and Lambert was just immense again. Difficult to single players out as yet again it was a fantastic team performance but.
  2. How was anything about that goal related to falling asleep? It was a free-kick, they scored. Both Jaidi and Davis were awake at the time, these things happen, on this occasion it had nothing to do with concentration.
  3. Sorry but it was a foul, the player may have made a bit of a meal of it but a challenge like that from behind makes it easy for the ref. Other than that Jaidi had a good game and Fonte was excellent alongside of him.
  4. My mistake I thought I was on the post match thread
  5. Maybe we could consolidate all these AP threads and his future into just the one.
  6. Would agree with that with the exception of Harding who whilst had a good game didn't rampage down the line to the extent I think you give him credit for. Barnard and Lambert look very comfortable together - a great pairing. As for the free kick then I don't think we can give Kelvin too much grief although he continues to make me nervous.
  7. Best performance I've seen there for a long time. Good performances throughout and especially Lambert who was superb.
  8. Ah the resident football experts who talk in cliche ridden prose you mean Chez. Anyone who knows even the slightest thing about football will know what Lallana has about him.
  9. The 'ruthless' Cortese insisted we have that end. I have it on good authority.
  10. Exclusive photo's show that Cole's injury is far worse than was first thought
  11. Colin Clarke couldn't trap a bag of cement...and I should know I used to wear his boots once he'd finished with them and I too had trouble with that same bag!
  12. Thanks fella that's the kiddy
  13. Sorry to crash the thread, anyone point me in the direction of the photo shopped image of the Liebherr crane in saints colours knocking down farton park?
  14. OSM you kill me, you are worth the £5 forum fee alone for your entertainment. SunnyD in all his guises brings welcome musings to the forum and his latest ban was far too long IMHO.
  15. I guess it helps to be at the game and clearly NC wasn't judging by his comments which are lifted from the internet reports rather than through his own, some might say blinkered, eyes
  16. Only sometimes?
  17. I'm in Geneva all week, I'll let you know first hand I'd be more than a little surprised if NC wasn't 'ruthless' afterall you don't find many large company CEO's, Chairmen, MD's etc who aren't. Whether he is any more 'ruthless' is yet to be determined and the only 'evidence' being provided so far is his spat with the Daily Echo which seems more childish than ruthless and the fact he got rid of Wotte straight away. Then again that seems normal protocol in similar circumstance.
  18. I would hope that he doesn't plan to adopt a promotion at all costs strategy...we have seen the downside of this approach all too often. We need a team that will get us out of League 1 then I am sure we will see another team for getting out of the CCC and so on. Some players will make the transition, some won't. We started the season slowly and of course we had the -10 so for me this season looks beyond us especially considering our recent performances. Other than circumstantial evidence however there is nothing to support your view he took the cheap option on recent signings. There could be a 101 reasons why other targets didn't come to fruition.
  19. Did we establish yet why he has been given the label of 'ruthless'? Was it his arranging of tea and biccies at the ticket queues last week or arranging for all the ticketing staff who worked the long hours to be treated to a meal in the Channon suite?
  20. I think this is where a lot of the problems lie. Look at Birmingham, something like 13 games unchanged and it's not doing them any harm. AP seems to have the ability of indentifying and signing good individual players but slotting them into the team and finding the right team formation seems a little way off at the moment. More time needed.

  22. And of course we do NOT know the answer on this one and it get's a little tiring to hear such supposition. NC and ML don't seemt the type to penny pinch a few 10's or even the odd 100K considering what they have invested so far in the Club. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever that they would adopt such a strategy.
  23. Yes it's quite unusual for a new management team to bring in their own man.
  24. That's 'ruthless'? Thanks, I was under the impression he had fired a lot of under-performing staff in his short time here.
  25. Could you quote some examples of his 'ruthless character'?
