If he was the only change in the starting eleven then maybe that stat would have some credence. In reality there are so many changes it's pretty meaningless.
I agree regarding J Rod. He is definitely looking sharper but he desperately needs that confidence boost. I'd be tempted to give him an extended run. After all we've been doing the same with Redmond in the hope he eventually comes good so why not do the same with Jay.
So where does the problem lie? It's either with the board or with Puel. It's not the players fault if they're not good enough but if the squad is not up to it then it's down to Les and if they're not playing to their potential it's Claude. What is it because it's one of them?
I guess the one thing that may now go in our favour is that whoever comes in is likely to be getting a fair amount of game time which might not be the case at other clubs.
Horror of a first half. Ponderous at best. Much better second half, good 20 minute spell then some old-fashioned hanging-on. Should give some confidence to the team. 3 important points considering recent results and performances.
Totally agree. When he first joined us he put in some cracking displays that made you realise why he had been at Bayern and why Guardiola was meant to be a fan. Since then he's done the complete opposite of what you would expect in that his performances have declined. He seems to be stuck out on the right of whatever formation we are currently calling it and he seems lost. Like others I think the 'rotation' is also hurting him. I'm sure he has the potential to be a huge asset for us but something is not clicking right now and whether that's any of the above or the coaching and direction he's getting who knows.
Didn't Puel state he was happy with his squad towards / at the close of the summer window? Still, there are many reasons why he may have said that regardless of whether he actually believed that.
