Depends on your definition as it seems we aren't currently planning to replace him. £13m in the bank I guess you could call a good deal and a good profit considering his age and remaining contract length. Not replacing him however will see us very light in this key position.

You're talking about a new contract after his current one expires. The one that he signed up to.

Seems he might not be quite the man of honour and integrity regarding contracts that he's been made out to be.

A likely scenario. He has said, on several occasions, that he'd honour his contract.

Why wouldn't they want him to 'run his contract down'? His 'value' is not like a player who enters his last year. The compensation for Koeman's services is being mentioned as c£2m. So that won't factor in the decision of the board. It will be more a question of whether they feel he will give his all to the club in the final year of his contract and whether any suitable candidates are available.

Neither are good enough. Hopefully this is a position we'll strengthen during the summer.
