Well there is that I think it's just a case of frustration from some that we knew Clyne was most likely going to be leaving and our efforts at replacing him seem a little underwhelming right now.

If we were mega-rich with an abundance of quality players to fill the role then, yes, absolutely. In reality we lose a key player from the team and £15m or whatever as well as still having to pay him. Then at the end of his contract he wanders off for zilch. The player(s) have the upper hand. Let's hope we have a Morgan scenario. It's probably the best we can hope for.

He was obviously referring to this transfer window when 3 of last years team decided their future was elsewhere. You can argue the semantics of the why's and wherefores but they're not here now through their own choice. Clear enough?
