If we bring Jennings back with us. all will not be lost. Maybe Bart will get a chance next week, and see if he can communicate with the C-Halfs. Shame, as the other results were good for us. Maybe we do need a bruiser for games like this, and Del Peiro on loan from Juve for when Lallanas injured.

We heard a rumour on the Saturday before Keegan signed, from a mate Kev West. I think the rumour originated from someone who used to stand under Lawries office. in one of the turnstile entrances. Didn't think it was true, chuffed to **** on the Monday when I found out it was.

Apparently they asked Scunny to re-arrange for tonight, but they said no. Sounds like they are desperate for the cash. Also, I'm sure that I read that they expected all of the season ticket monies to be handed over, once they came out of admin, but now it seems that the money is still being handed over pro-rata, after each home game played. Sounds like Barclaycard still aren't sure that they will complete their fixtures .

So the transfer window didn't bring in enough money for the CVA. How could they have come up with the missing £3 Million ? I'm no mathematician ( Sorry that's a lie I am a maths geek) but using these simple formulas I can see A solution . Wilson = £1.5 Million + Lawrence + Kitson Wilson = £1.5 Million + £3 Million for the CVA. Combining these two differential equations we arrive at the answer Skates = Cheating Bastards

I'm suprised that no-one has posted this link yet. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/frattonlatest/Pompey-financial-report-to-be.6647296.jp This could actually be the start of the start of the investigation, although I fear that more information may have ended up in the shredder than in the report itself. Although everything is top secret, there are details of the sort of wrongdoings that could be taken further, such as using money owed to the Crown (HRMC) to continue running the business. I think even the Skates will find it difficult to dodge that bullet. Another interesting aside is that Al Mirage is not included in the investigation as he was never a Director of the company although, as he appears to be a creation of fiction, perhaps Sherlock Holmes or Rebus could be called in to make enquiries ?

Does anyone have some stats for Claude Makalale's goals and assists ? Or Alan Ball, Jim Magilton or Matt Oakley for that matter ? It is a team game, and is not just about individual stats. Stats won't show how many wingers have been set into spaceby a square pass to set up a goal, and thus get the magical assist statistic. In my younger days, I used to moan about Bally and his constant short square passes. calling it negative. Boy was I wrong. We have never played football that good since he hung his boots up. All those people wanting rid of Morgan, be careful what you wish for. And don't be suprised if lots of threads appear in the future saying that we should have never got rid of maorgan, much as they do now with Matt Oakley.

If they had shown it afterwards and England had lost the bid, it would have been dismissed as sour grapes. The whole FIFA operation does need looking at, in my own opinion. There needs to be more transparency about where the WC is allocated, and there should be an enquiry about ticket pricing, after all the empty seats in South Africa. Tickets should be sold at a fixed mark up on what normal league game tickets would cost in the country holding the competition, so that the fans that maintain the leagues in those countries can afford to go to the World Cup, which is supposed to be for theit benefit. Unless the last world cup was just about getting white middle class africans to switch from rugby. Also, the new stadium sizing criteria are rediculous. 32,000 is perfectly adequate for most group games. I don't mind if England loses the bid, as it will save Plymouth and Bristol City fans from having to watch their game from one stand, while the rest of the white elephant stadias are closed to save money.

Danny Wallace, at Old Trafford. I was at Soton Uni at the time, and used to watch the youth games at the Dell. Watched him score a couple of goals on the Weds, and was telling all my mates about what a good prospect we had. Low and behold, Steve Morans gutsfell out of his bottom and Danny gets his debut, along with Ruben Agboola in a 1.1 draw at Old Trafford. Danny would hacve scored the winner, but the ball bobbled up just as he was about to hit it. Crap pitch even then.

I have been there many times, as I live half an hour away. It is a very powerful place to visit, particularly the church, and the crypt full of childrens toys and other day to day stuff found in the rubble. Max Hastings book 'Das Riech' is a good account of the carnage that the Das Riech division caused as it reponded to the Resistance. If anyone wants to go there, it is about 20 minutes away from Limoges airport ( Flybe from Southampton )

I think the difference could be the home form, as NA seems to have a better plan against the teams who come down and park the bus. His mantra of making the pitch bigger when you have possession is borrowed from the dutch coach from 1974 ( total football era). Hug the touchline to make use every inch of space, and if players won't do it, bring on someone who will, like the Dickson and Holmes double substitution against Colchester.

I think you will find that the punishment may be a bit different, one would be 3 points and the other would probably lose your license. Try it sometime, but don't forget to unhitch your caravan first.

PFC123 Yes there is a similarlity between SFC and Skates FC, we both gambled, although we did it for one season, and yo did it for seven, and have started doing it again, judging by AA's statements that the transfer monies in target, had been reduced by 2 million, and the wage bill had increased by 2 million ( a net drop of 4 million in your target revenue for season one of the CVA) . I think the difference between the two is like the difference between someone being caught doing 35 mph in a 30 zone to someone doing 150 in a 30 zone.

Although I would ot like the last two derbies ever to have been won by the Skates, I wouldn't mind seeing the back of 'em. I am sure it won't happen though, it's just more brinkmanship. The RSPCA should really get in there to save that poor kitten with the gun at his head. I feel much the same about Cardiff, avoiding a winding up order and then signing Bellamy, and the Owls for signing loads of players this summer when they knew full well that they were behind on their taxes. The Kitson and Lawrence signings should not have been allowed, whilst the club was in admin. The FL should have had the power or will to tell them that by taking less money for Wilson, they were defrauding the creditors. I hope that super Nigel and his free transfers and kids 11, see them of this PM.
-
So it looks like they have got away with it again, and once again they are trying to mortgage their way back into the big time. Hopefully QPR and Cardiff ( who are one winding up order away from being like the skates) will run away with it and Ipswich/Norwich/Leciester/Burnley/Hull will get the play off birth. I was hoping that the FL would show some balls, and not fall for AA's 'give us the golden share or the kitten gets it' routine, but the skates seem to have done a pact with Satan. The FL should have kicked them out, and get Stoke's reserve side to complete the rest of the fixtures.

His lack of strength and pace is probably what is keeping out of the PL at the moment, as it doesn't fit in with the English box to box plan as perdonified by Gerrard, Lampard, Huddlestone etc. A lot of posters commented on the world cup thread, that Xavi and Inesta would not have broken through in the PL as they are too small. AL is like Inesta's younger brother. Hope he can be persuaded to stay, bit if not. I hope he heads to Spain, where his talents would be more appreciated.

Getting rid of a promising youngter on £2-3 K a week, so that you can bring in yet another experienced pro on £10K plus is financial genius. I seem to remember they did a similar thing in the 70's when they released Sir Mick Mills. They didn't meet the transfer target for the CVA, even though AA reduced it by 3 million, they are 3 or 4 thousand below the CVA attendance target, and the wage bill is 2 or 3 million above the CVA target.I'm not suprised that the league are taking their time in giving the the golden share. The three year plan seem to be **** or bust.

I remember reading something over a month ago (Possibly the Guardian) that suggested that there could be a problem with Chinrai's takeover because the takeover ompany is registered in the Caribean, and it is not clear who owns it, a similar situation to the company that owns dirty Leeds. Perhaps the problem is that Chinrai is unwilling to disclose who else is in on the deal with him ?

Sounded better to me, first home game that Saints have had a good 2nd half. Dickson and Holmes sounded useful. Solent commentator said he hasn't seen Saints or Pompey score a league goal this season, and he's just said he will be at Hillsborough next week. Take a sicky for the Saints, let someone else do it.

Looks like the skates may have to drop the "Best Fans in the World" tag . http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Supporters-Want-To-Get-Fratton-Rocking-Again-1364.aspx Perhaps the 5,000 members of the Fratton Faithfless that have gone missing were the ones who sang ( still got TTWTB though ) .

I think it came from the cup game on the BBC when Arsenal ripped them a new one. They kept sing as the 5th or 6th goal went in, and the myth was made. If Saints 6.0 win at Wolves had been live on the telly, the same could have been said about their fans '6,5 we're going to win 6,5' changing seamlessly to '7,6 ...' as our 6th goal went in. The other thing I object to is the term 'Fratton Faithful' being used, just because both words start with the letter f . So does ****witt!

Under the West Stand since promotion, but moved to the East under Nicholl when we got fed up of the constant wingin at PAul Rideout . People would complain that he wasn't as skillful as Le Tissier, and not as fast as Rod Wallace. I felt like telling them that a player as good in the air as Rideout, with the pace of RW and the skill of MLT would be worth 10 times wmore than Van Basten. Wonder what they made of Paul Moody ?

Sheffield Wednesday 24hrs from administration
redkeith replied to corsacar saint's topic in General Sports
I would have sympathy for them, were it not for the fact that they have signed half a dozen players this summer, and turned down offers for their best forward Tudgay. If you were to add up they signing on fees, extra wages and tranfer fee they would have received I don't think they would be much short of the money that they owe HRMC. They are doing what the skates did, but to the tune of £1m not £120M. A prudeny club would have sold some players to raise the tax bill, and then see who they could aford to sign afterwards. -
Overseas saints what other teams do you follow?
redkeith replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
Bordeaux now for me, two hours away but only €16 to get in. Just as frustrating as Saints, 9 points clear at xmas but didn't even qualify for Europe after picking up 1 point in April from 6 games.
