Totally unbelievably proud to be a saint tonight. Crowd, team, atmosphere fantastic. Only difference was their strikers were more clinical in finshing - plus a blind linesman who couldn't see Utaka five yards offside - twice!

This gentleman now a-bed in England is accursed with Norovirus. However I shall not be holding my manhood cheap tomorrow, but will stagger in - with cork if necessary - to take my seat. So if you see some big bloke sitting a bit quieter than usual, give him a wide berth, some sympathy and a cheer. He'll have just shaken the hand of every P*mpey player as they got off the team bus. ;-)

Grandfather - WW1 served at Jutland, transferred to submarines and went down with K13 but survived. Capturing Chinese pirates between the wars. WW2 torpedoed on the Ambuscade on the Arctic convoys but survived the war. Father - built planes, worked on the team developing the Horsa glider. Fitted out the special air brakes for the attack on the Ranville battery. Mother - Also built planes (how they met), bombed out in the blitz. Father-in-Law - First wave on Gold beach with the Hampshires, wounded around Arnhem with 30 Corps.

Band Of Brothers - British miniseries version, ideas?
Pugwash replied to Crab Lungs's topic in The Lounge
Good idea. Be good to get a naval-based story, being a maritime nation. The idea I had was the battle for Malta, focussing on the RN and MN efforts to keep the convoys running for about two years. At times the guys on that run went into it knowing they only had a 1-in-3 chance of coming out the other side without being sunk. Under constant air attacks, awful losses, heart-wrenchingly tough decisions by commanders. -
's funny. 'Arry showed Piers round Sandbanks a couple of years ago. F'sure.

Brilliant signing. For me, he's been one of the stand-out players in L1 this season. Think he will have a big future. -
Yet another bad-news day - Belhadj just sent off for a vicious two-footed tackle.

Excellent news to hear someone beating the big C. Best wishes to the Hamster household.

Good luck to the lad, he's got the talent to improve quite a bit. He might feel uncomfortable with the move, but getting out of his comfort zone will help him round out as an individual.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/19/manchester-city-united-carling-cup-live Read the caption to the picture. I didn't know the Grauniad used that sort of language.

So, a timeline to summarise a few forthcoming key dates: Storrie's hearing - 20 January PFC Winding-Up hearing - 10 February Redknapp in court - 11 February Mandaric in Court - 11 February I think this is correct. Anything to add? Has Gaydamak's loan repayment deadline passed?
-
To put a slightly different slant on it: Who would the players' agents prefer to sell to and who's likely to pay their wedge? Don't think the agents are getting any of the Sky money...
-
Nick, Didn't the PL say they were holding on to the money to settle debts with ENGLISH clubs? So that's why Lens went to UEFA/FIFA?
-
Like Lens? Have they appealed to UEFA and FIFA because the PL and FA are ignoring them?
-
Baj, don't skimp on the underlay (assuming you're not having a foamback) - makes all the difference.

Interesting comment from one of the Green Army: "...but there is no denying that during his second tenure at the club we sold ALL of our best players, and we have bought some absolute shockers." Could he be referring to Paul Wotton and BWP??
