Whilst I agree with that sentiment, having seen us totally dominate the first 30 minutes, MP needs to find out why we seem to capitulate once the opposition responds... of course, there's no excuse for basic individual errors like today.
-
Not mentally weak.. physically outfought and then mental tiredness creeps in... we look exhausted and some are carrying minor injuries. Once Lambert tires, it seems to spread through the team as we cannot keep the ball. Our midfield was weak today, sorely miss Schneiderlin and Wanyama. We are not yet ready to challenge the top six teams.

We are not physically strong enough.. weak in midfield without Schneiderlin and Wanyama.. and some of our players look exhausted, plus carrying minor injuries.
-
We are still too open at the back, especially on the flanks.. missing Schneiderlin's covering.. still exceptional football we play
-
Basic error and the whole game changed... in total charge until then.. similar to Sunderland away fixture.
-
Neanderthal footballer.. not a touch on Lambert; we need quality footballers who can keep ball at the World Cup.

But he wasn't until he moved out wide second half.. 1st half he was lost and should not be asked to play a lone striker role. Not sure where he gets his energy from though, covers so much ground for the team.
-
Absolutely, Chelsea are the only team that have outplayed us.
-
We showed today we are not yet good enough to leave Lambert on the bench.. Rodriguez only started to enjoy himself once he reverted to his wide left role.. MP was livid on the touchline, shocking arrogance to allow Norwich any hope at all.
-
Its clear that Lambert has had to adjust to MPs fluid offensive unit which has resulted in him not being in the goal scoring positions of previous seasons. However, Lallana and Rodriguez have benefited with a better goals return. I still think Hodgson will take Lambert over Carroll, but he may not take either and use Wellbeck as a striking option from the bench.
-
he certainly is not 'clearly going to Chelsea' as of yet... but the club have to make ambitious moves in the summer to keep the likes of Shaw/Lallana otherwise it makes their decision easy.

Thanks MLG - how far we have come since the -10 points start in league one.. this really brings it home..
-
The problem with playing Rodriguez as a lone striker is that he does not link up the play.. he's a runner playing off the shoulder of the last defender. That's great when we are playing on the break (hence his good away scoring record) but not when we have to break teams down who have eight behind the ball. Maybe give Gallagher another run.. cos Lambert needs a rest.

Down = Stoke, Fulham and Crystal Palace Up = Wigan, Leicester and Burnley

We now have 10 pages of 'still being angry', followed by this nonsense..can we not discuss real topics which are still in existence.

What a moronic comment

Grinding out a win is a plus for us... Lovren MOTM for me.. -
I don't think CW looks stupid at all... on the evidence of the last few games, Chambers would be an automatic pick... For me, he's probably being rested... either way, we really need to find a way of playing both, but that will depend on whether Chambers can adapt to CB or CM roles as he's such a naturally gifted player.

Should MP drop Lambert for the Palace game!
SaintSteve replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Osvaldo was bought to bring another dimension to the attacking unit... why we concentrate on individual players to lambast is ridiculous... we play a fluid offensive unit where players interchange.. hence why Lambert is so important. On Saturday Rodriguez played the majority of the game as the spearhead, I think because against the better teams we need Lamberts creativity alongside Lallana, and of course Rodriguez pace is a better weapon to receive the pass. It didn't work but we are not top four material are we. -

Its not how MP wants to play.. perhaps you should watch the games more closely. -

He's also the best creator of chances. but only Lallana is on the same wavelength.. -
I'm assuming this is your attempt at humour
