Oh dear, you really don't get it.. Yes, the teams are doubling up on lambert (and lallana for that matter) and its up to the 'team' (NA) to address; its no reflection on lamberts ability. To say Lambert is one-dimensional tells me you know little about his contribution this season; he did not play well yesterday, but that was down to our selection and players playing out of position. We bought 2 'upgrade' strikers in the summer costing £12M, and they are not fit to tie lamberts laces - so who are you suggesting, Messi ?

Not sure why this is being debated... we will play the 4-2-3-1 with Rodrigues interchanging with Lambert and Ramirez throughout; only Puncheon will play right as his natural ability to switch inside provides more shooting opportunities for him. Why bring anyone else int the equation when they are clearly not good enough.

Gazzaniga's positioning is woeful... bring back Boruc - a proven international..

That is my impression as well. Basically, we have a Manager who is intent on setting the team up to leak goals. Irrespective of results in November - we have to see a change towards a more defensive formation and a grinding out of results. This is the only chance NA has of saving his job IMHO.

We are truly shocking. No shape, no bite, no confidence... but its the Manager who sets us up this way and will pay the price shortly.

I like that team. However, picking the eleven is not the main issue. As stated on GSS yesterday, we do not get anywhere near enough to the opposition playmakers; get easlily brushed off the ball and this makes our back 4 look worse than it is. So, with this team Schneiderlin and Davis need to be at their midfield from the off and Lallana especially needs to be 'awake' to their RH side attacks; he's been culpable all season. Looks good offensively though.

Lambert needs to start games and be subbed late second half.. he's not an IMPACT sub.. did u not notice the instant linking betwen Ramirez and lambert - why ?... becoz they are on the same wave length.. above anyone else in our squad. Rodrigues may become a Premier striker ( I have my doubts) but should start on the bench.

Oh dear oh dear.. another one who can't see the gaping difference between Lambert and Rodrigues.. he's notfit to ties his boot laces. For a start, lambert goalscoring, ball control vision leaves Rodrigues with a lot to learn.. he may or may not but this was a bad signing for the 1st time back in the Premier.

Yes, with Lallana its as if he's just woken up from a dream. For the second goal, Defoe ran across the whole of the defence with no-one getting anywhere near him. Ball-Watching with no awareness of off the ball movement. Our defensive frailties are either due to nerves, lack of fitness or we are just not good enough.. take your pick. We will have a better idea of how bad the situation is after our November matches which provide better opportunities for 'points'.

No it doesn't have to be said cos its rubbish. Have you not seen Lambert play ?.. OR Jones for that matter.. He fits the Stoke mould.

Not if you have a brain.. its the equivalent of messi/Ronaldo being on the bench... Lambert is our best player by a street.. NA is basically removing himself.

Its all about opinions and the whole group around where we sit had the same opinion - don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of lallana's and don't see dropping him as the way forward but he has not reached heights of last season - partially due to better opponents, partially due to NA making an error of judgement in Captaincy terms but he's 24 and should be dictating the midfield offensive moves and he has been peripheral in most games,.

Lallana was shocking on Sunday - god knows what game you were watching - lets not pussy foot around with confidence being a concern over the Captain's armband - he's not a captain and needs to sort his game out.. flatters to deceive far too often.

Not sure I agree with most of NAs decisions this season.. but why not give the armband to the leader on the pitch.. and thats' lambert. Lallana is finding the premier league attention difficult to handle playing-wise and does not need the extra pressure. Not sure he has even looked like scoring to date.

Boruc was signed to be No 1 keeper; which I fully expect to happen if/when he is fully fit. Gazzanigga has done well but I would prefer an experienced International keeper withi our defensive unit.

The buck stops with the Manager - and who knows whether he did not get what he wanted from the Transfer window. Adkins style will not change - S****horpe was the same Gung-ho approach and they conceded goals for fun.. just like we are in the Premier. His substitute decisons today were woeful - however many chances Lambert missed today, he is our one potent force up front. I fear NA is on borrowed time..

Tend to agree, we all know our deficiencies but hopefully NA will find a formula that brings Points with flowing football and a better defensive structure.. we need a couple of bullies in our Midfield/Defence; maybe January.
