  1. I would like a forum notice informing people on here that with agents involved, telling players to hold out to the end of the window in case they get a better offer, we are not high enough up the food chain to get deals done early. It may stop the usual bedwetters saying what a crap club we are (supposedly our supporters?) and having patience to wait until the window is over before having a swipe at the Club. If the experts on here do not know if Ings is going or not how are the club expected to know. (In my opinion that will go to the wire and all depends whether Kane moves on or not). So far I am happy that some dead wood has been moved on and we are strengthening albeit slowly. Ralph knows what he wants for the season and if the club provides that it will do for me.
  2. Could be good if he thinks we are Celtic and still (just) in the Champions League 😁😇
  3. Sorry I think you’re struggling now you said further back that when we put in a bid for Armstrong the news was all over the media I await with interest in what the club can produce in this window, which I expect will be there best under the financial restraints. Nothing said on this board is going to affect that but I’m quite sure we will start the season with more depth. We hit the top last season before our injuries and lack of depth showed up so I prefer to remember those times and not the doom and gloom after. COYS
  4. As the other poster I would suggest that there is a lot of difference between our board and Levy. We may make low offers which is obviously part of negotiations what we do not do is put it out in the media constantly about being in for a player and then once he’s unsettled throw in a lowball of a bid with no intention of any compromise. Can’t say I recall any great publicity about any of our negotiators putting it out there that they’re going to put in a low bid. I would’ve thought that if you read a lot of the posts on here and other news reports you might realise that by now Levy is well known for his tactics. If you want to compare Ings to Armstrong – Armstrong is not proven in the Premier League, he is in the last year of his contract and it appears that he wants to leave but he has an extortionate price on his head for an untested player. Ings may be in the last year of his contract but he only wants to go to a top 4 club, he is one of the top English goal scorers and we do not want to sell him. It also sounds to me that the Williams loan fee was thrown in at the last minute and rejected to see if we could save some on our limited budget. As always we won’t know how good this window will be until it’s over. (FWIW I think Ings will stay and then sign the new deal for his own security)
  5. Except that we keep our negotiations fairly private, Levy seeks publicity, is known to unsettle players and come in with low ball offers. I almost sympathise with spud supporters as other clubs will stop dealing with him. There is really no comparison with Armstrong he is being offered at a total unreasonable price which is why other clubs have walked away and Ings is not for sale 😇
  6. It is the same every transfer window, the players (well the agents) will not commit early because they are always looking for a better deal with more commission. It is especially difficult this season because of Covid and no one knows what the values will settle at. It will take a big transfer like Kane to materialise before the deals will trickle through. Of course the exemptions are the clubs with big money to spend.
  7. Wow that would be so disrespectful, a new low for Levy.
  8. I will go with my previous post I am concerned Man City may entice him but he's given us goals and we should get a return so I would not begrudge him going to a Champions League side. I just hope the Armstrong deal is close and lets see what Ralph can do with some new players and now a few donkeys have gone.
  9. Just my opinion I think Danny Ings is happy at Saints but if a Champions League side come in for him he would take the opportunity to play at that level. The publicity of the refusal to sign a big deal maybe works two ways 1. He is inviting offers from the top four 2. If he does leave the club can say they tried their very best to keep him. With his injury record I cannot see him not signing a long term contract with us or a Champions league side. If he got badly injured during the last year he would lack the security of a contract in the future. I hope Man City get Kane, United have Sancho, Chelsea don't need him and Liverpoo go out of business (wishful thinking not very bitter about Van Dick). So my hope is that he is here at the end of the transfer window and then signs the contract with us for his own security.
  10. Would this be the 2nd summer signing, I think we need to make this clear before any official announcement 😉
  11. You know this would cause a serious issue when someone questioned why the chosen full backs were paired up with the wrong goalkeeper. Ralph seen to get it right by the experts on here would be as likely as a lottery win
  12. You mean the disrupting ones who turn up in their seats 5-10 minutes after kick off (late from the bar), leave there seats 5-10 minutes before halftime, then are late back after half time and leave 5-10 minutes from the end ? I've always wondered if they get discounted tickets ?
  13. Shouldn’t Martial get a suspension for diving ? I thought this was the talk at the beginning of the season?
  14. Mike Dean's apology posted below in fulll Oh dear we could not find it 😇😀
  15. I suppose it is possible that Romeu or DIallo could be out long term and we can offer him more game time?
  16. They are laxatives certainly give me the sh**ts
  17. What another one ? I don’t suppose we could ban or have a separate thread for people slagging off the deals or proposed deals every window and keep this one for rumours and news😇. We could call the other one “Change the Owner, staff and everyone , spend loads of money and end up like them down the road”. I do wish I could read the rumours without the crap and go back to the days we had someone up a tree at Staplewood😜
  18. The offside decision was so tight on VAR and it looked to me as though Mr Dean moved the line when it was level with the defenders backside, just a fraction to cover it which made Danny offside. The linesmen are instructed to keep the flag down if they are not sure and there were numerous other occasions where someone was yards offside and he did not raise it. Adding that to an obvious hand movement by Cash to save a goal where numerous experts cannot agree whether it touched the thigh or not Mason must surely give it and then check VAR? What happens if the ball bounces off the defenders thigh and he punches it away the rule is so flawed it was a deliberate hand to ball movement and in my opinion a penalty and red card. I feel totally cheated by the usual inept bunch of officials who never seem to give us the decisions to “balance them out over the season”.
  19. Yes and arguing with the ref and pointing at him
  20. We are learning from the Manchester United game.if we’re going to play well in just one half it best to be the second😇
  21. Over the years I think that a minority of Millwall supporters have displayed links with the national front movement and I don’t think that they would listen to reasonable conversations. My own opinion is that the booing can only be seen as racist. Surely whatever your opinion of the black movement is, any verbal attack on it can only be construed in one way. My own experience of Millwall fans is that there are a small minority who use the platform of being “football supporters” to be extremely violent and racist. This is obviously the hard-core few so perhaps if the security videos can identify those who booed (as mentioned on the radio yesterday)someone will be able to have a word with them and ask why they did it
  22. I do think you miss the point as Whitey said 18th June: “The club will also ensure Season Ticket holders receive absolute priority for any ballot allocation should capacity need to be reduced at any stage” They have now changed the goalposts however you choose who is the super supporter. As for your response Egg - the situation has to be fluid I agree, for example the supporters who live in tier 3 (which was not a criteria in June?) have to miss out. However what in a “fluid situation” makes it fair to give Uber supporters a priority unless they are all inoculated? 😀😁 Steve Green although I do have a bit of an issue as to whether they are more worthy or not, the point was first made that the goalposts had changed and surely that is correct.
  23. Sorry thought we were having a grown up debate I am not throwing any toys out the pram, if you think we need to split the fan base into “Über’” fans then that is your opinion. I am responding to Whitey grandads post that point out what was going to be a level playing field has now been changed. He was unduly ridiculed, I don’t suppose you’re an Uber fan ? 😇. I suspect that the money I have spent over the last 60 years of supporting the team is more than someone who has been home and away for say 5 years. So in my opinion my using my pocket money, paper round money etc etc for 60 years makes me a loyal fan but I was happy to go in the the draw along with any other season ticket holder. I am disappointed the club changed the goalposts.
  24. Ok then why does someone who had a new season this year get the same priority as someone who for instance has had one for 40 consecutive seasons? Once you start favouring a certain percentage it stops being a level playing field. I admire the people who can go to all away games some others cannot afford it, have to work weekends etc etc but do not make them any less supporters.
  25. I agree with Whitey Grandad I do not agree that we now have a band of “Elite fans” because they are able to attend away games when lots of others would if they could afford it, not have commitments etc. In my view all season ticket holders should go in the ballot. If you start start divisions perhaps people who have had season tickets for over 30 years for instance should have better chances than some newcomers. I am a bit disappointed they have gone away from a level playing field. nta786 I always knew my season ticket money was an interest free loan and was happy to support the club.
