Couldn't really ask for a better team to have to face on the final day of the season, if we do need something. Stoke are in shocking form, and they've been dreadful away from home. Anybody watch them against Fulham the other week? Answer to the original question, yes I think it will come down to this but we'll be outside the bottom 3 thus in control of our own destiny.
-
I think we'll beat Reading, West Ham & Stoke, Draw with West Brom & Sunderland. Lose to Liverpool, Chelsea, Swansea and Spurs. 39 points total.

All depends on which Liverpool turns up for me. If Suarez is on form then we are going to have a tough afternoon. 1-3 Liverpool for me also. I'm actually more confident of us getting something against Chelsea than I am Liverpool at present.

Norwich City 0-0 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
saints_is_the_south replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Hopefully we'll be able to reflect on this as a point gained, and not 2 lost come May. Boruc save could be vital in the long run. Saw one post saying 'that was an embarrassment'. Wtf? We've dominated possession and chances against a team who have beaten Man Utd, Arsenal & Everton, drawn with Spurs and narrowly lost to City and Chelsea at home. Need to start converting our chances, but I'd be a lot more concerned if we weren't creating chances at all. -
Anyone know of a decent stream?

Newcastle 4-2 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
saints_is_the_south replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Tbf to Pardew, he is not the usual 'magnanimous winning manager b*****ks', when we played them down here he conceded that they'd been thoroughly dominated and outplayed. Thought his comments towards us were genuine, also had some nice words for Rickie too. -
Newcastle 4-2 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
saints_is_the_south replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
All 4 goals were quite unfortunate, although Man City could say the same about the 3 we scored against them. 1st ricochets off the inside of Boruc's leg and diverts straight to Sissoko. On another day it goes out for a corner. Will have to see the build up to the free kick that led to the 2nd goal again to be sure, but it looked like the free kick should have been give to us, not Newcastle. Then Ciise comes back from an offside position, Shaw is fouled, no one touches the ball before it gets to Ciise. 3rd is a penalty for me, but I do wonder had it been down the other end would it have been given? Answer is probably not. No words needed for the 4th. As for the game general, started both halfs very well. It was inevitable after scoring so early that we were going to face a bit of a Newcastle onslaught, but we should have kept the ball a lot better than we did when we did have it. After Rickie equalised and the had that headed chance to make it 3-2, it looked like we would be the team to go on and win it. And the disaster strikes with the penalty and 4th goal. No need for any knee jerk reactions though, today was a game that we could quite conceivably lose and we have done. No biggie for me, still 3 points above the drop zone as we were before the weekend started. Decent performance, two good goals, but can improve too. -
For those interested: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21567094 Some nice words for us, and Rickie in particular. Said that we were every bit as good as Chelsea and Metalist who they have played recently, and that we'll be ok for sure. Rickie was great for him, and he told him that he could be a PL player.

Have a bad feeling Villa will get something today, couldn't be a better time to be visiting the Emirates. United to beat QPR, and I think Wigan will win at Reading. Fulham 1-1 Stoke Arsenal 2-2 Villa Norwich 2-2 Everton QPR 0-2 Man Utd Reading 1-2 Wigan WBA 2-1 Sunderland Would leave bottom half like this. 11. Fulham 30pts -6GD 12. West Ham 30 -9 13. Norwich 30 -15 14. Sunderland 29 -7 15. Saints 27 -9 16. Newcastle 27 -12 17. Aston Villa 25 -25 ---------------------------- 18. Wigan 24 -20 19. Reading 23 -16 20. QPR 17 -24

Players "happy with double training" under MP
saints_is_the_south replied to adrian lord's topic in The Saints
Double training sessions are quite common in Europe, infact almost the done thing. -
@CaulkinTheTimes: Krul got a stamp on the ankle at the end of the match. Think cast/crutches precautionary but clearly a doubt for Sunday. #nufc

Yeah they have started doing that, at least the bank I work for have. Personal Loans you are pretty much guaranteed to get a pay out on, especially if you have multiple accounts which are successive. Regular premium policies such as Credit Card and Mortgage PPI the banks tend defend more and are more successful at doing so.

Anyone know any half decent pubs showing game on Sunday?
saints_is_the_south replied to Roger's topic in The Saints
Can vouch for Royal Oak. Been there for every away game I've not been to so far this season. -
I work in a major bank's PPI complaint department. Well worth complaining, especially for Personal Loans. Don't use claims management companies, you can do it yourself quite easily. Good source of info here and links to PPI complaint questionnaire: http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/publications/technical_notes/ppi.html

Yeah, 2,400 sorry.
-
Went on a tour of St James' when we were staying up north for the United/Wigan games, the tour guide said full allocation for away fans is 5 blocks (Reading had just been and had only 1 block, lol). So based on full allocation being 3,000 we'll have about 2,600 with 4 blocks taken.

Yep all to play for in Ukraine. Another 0-0 and extra time please!
-
Absolutely love this! Corker of a goal by a smashing little player, on a top top day!
-
Very pleased. In Rome that weekend, so Saturday means I can find a boozer to watch it, Monday means I'm back in time to make the game. Win win.

You can now buy advance fare rail tickets from Southampton Central to Cardiff for £14.00 return. Cardiff to Swansea is £8.30 return on the day. £22.30 altogether, very good price. To get the £14.00 return you are required to get the 6.53 train from Southampton Central and the 20.30 back.

This. We've also not heard any murmurings of discontent that they aren't playing very much either. Richardson for example, a steady eddy sort of player, not going to feature an awful lot but when he does has shown he will get the basis done and provide solid back up. I like Kieran Trippier, the England u-21 right back at Burnley, but would he be happy to move from regular first team football to a Premier League back up at this stage in his career? Probably not. Out for me would be: Forecast Butterfield Seaborne Martin Dickson Chaplow Hammond Forte De Ridder Barnard Sharp Hoskins Reeves The latter probably seem a bit harsh, but there isn't much point them staying here, they might as well get out there and find a good club lower down where they will get regular first team football. Hoskins seems to have found his level, think Reeves is better than League 2 though. Loan out Stephens Chambers Robinson Isgrove
