Roma. I visited Rome for the first time when I was a teenager and became infactuated by the city, the people and the culture. My old man would always buy me a teams shirt wherever we went on holiday and he did so in Rome (and there was only one choice so the locals all told us! Roma is called Roma and the team play in the city's colours!). At the start of the next football season I was flicking through the channels and came across Juve v Roma live on Eurosport who at the time had Italian football rights. I was very impressed with what I saw of Roma in a thoroughly entertaining 2-2 draw. Since then it's just grown for me. Since March 2004 I've been to 17 live games, 14 in Italy and 3 in England. Met some great people along the way, Roma fans from around the world and also have some good friends in Rome now too. Last time I went I took the boys who I go to Saints with, and they are also now fully converted (see saint_bert's earlier post in this thread!).

It's disgusting that those who went to Leeds are not considered in the sales criteria for this at all. What's the point awarding 20 loyalty points for this, and 20 for Sheff Wed if you can't use them. Whole system is a joke.

+1. Going with 2 others. Get into Leeds about 2ish.

Fulham away Boxing Day-'neutral' end tickets

Having just said that, thought I'd check their website again and they do now appear to be running coaches on Boxing Day. £20 return. -

I checked with National Express and they told me no services running from Southampton to London on Boxing Day. Do you know of any others running? -
So what is the score gonna be on sunday

Saints 2-3 Spurs. A spirited showing from Saints but like the United game, not good enough to take anything from the game. -
Sales criteria announced. The Leeds game isn't included, wtf was the point in awarding 20 loyalty points for it then? Will have to wait til next Friday to get tickets, hopefully there will be some left. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/qpr-ticketing-details-438477.aspx

Decent prices. Will go for the Upper Tier gold I think, the view from the Lower Tier isn't great and neither is it from the side of the Upper Tier. Strange that the sales criteria hasn't been announced at the same time. Have done Arsenal and Everton, and doing Leeds so hopefully should be OK.

£20 on Arsenal, City, Celtic, Hull, Skates and Swindon today. Returns £551.25.

Good news as thats where I'm heading.

Loads of pubs will have it. The key question is which ones will be streaming it from t'internet and which ones will be showing it from a foreign TV satellite station. The difference in picture quality for the latter will obviously be far better.

Shame Everton couldn't beat Wigan but all in all a decent day of results. Swansea had 25 attempts (on & off target) at goal today against Reading, looks like the same style of play to last season for them - smash and grab football. Won't serve them well in the long run in this league. Relegation is 3 from Us, Norwich, QPR, Reading, Wigan, Villa and Swansea IMO. Win tomorrow and we can climb to the dizzy heights of 14th (Liverpool result depending, and they're at home so they'll probably lose!) and 3 points above the drop zone. Table would look much nicer!

Just clocked a load of empty seats at the Etihad today, so it's not just Saints struggling to shift tickets. The clubs need to realise the prices they are charging are just too high.
-
2,242 tickets still left. Block 43 not on sale to home fans either, can't see Fulham bringing a full 3.2K so find that strange. For the record when we played Fulham live on Sky in October 2002 (4-2 win) there were 26,188 in attendance, so looks like there will be more than that tomorrow. Going to guess at 29,500 approx.

Anything but a QPR win will keep us out of the bottom 3 for the week. Don't think WHU will be involved in a relegation scrap, so want them to win anyway.
-
Allocation was 1800, lower paddock was sold out and only empty seats in the upper bit of the lower tier were the back few rows, so about 1,700 I'd say.

Southampton v Newcastle 03/04 on ESPN Classic, 2.45pm
saints_is_the_south replied to Colinjb's topic in The Saints
You are thinking of the 1-1 draw the season before. 03/04 game was the 3-3, the game of the Blayney wonder save from Shearer (which strangely they didn't show!), Griffit put us 3-2 up on 88 minutes and Ambrose equalised with literally the last kick of the game. A draw wasn't enough for them to get in the top 4. -
No EL game for Liverpool the week before. And other fixtures that weekend include Man City v Everton, Reading v Man Utd and two London derbies in Fulham v Spurs and West Ham v Chelsea - 4 fixtures I'd consider more likely to be on TV than Liverpool v Saints.

Cheers, put that on record. Great game indeed, the one where Blayney made the point blank save from Shearer. -
Fulham are traditionally good at home but tend to struggle on their travels, so we need to take the game to them from the off. Berbatov missing is a boost for us. They're still a very decent Premier League side though. Watched Fulham against West Ham the other week and they really struggled to deal with the long balls up to Carroll, maybe we should switch the way we play and try to hit Lambo as much as possible and play off him. Think there will be goals in this one, going for a 3-2 Saints win.

I am mostly interested as I want to get train tickets booked.
-
So when is this game going to be played then? We play Sunday so won't want to play Tuesday, and Leeds play the Friday after so won't want to play Wednesday, so which side will be looked at more favourably when they are putting their case forward as to when they want the game to be played?
-
Online showing sold out as mentioned above. If correct then that's a good effort. Would imagine it's the biggest following we've taken there in a while?

I think we could have done with a LB & CB, but with regards to the players signed no complaints at all.
