  1. It took a few seconds to refresh now and again, but noticeably quicker overall than in the past. Late Saturday afternoon will be the real test, I feel. I wonder if there is any difference between people connected through a BT land line and those connected by cable broadband. I'm with Virgin fibre optic and it is generally very good, even with Saints Player!
  2. Oi, you - NO! It was never love, it was just a heat of the moment thing. Now go away.
  3. Sorry, but chianti just doesn't work with kidneys - liver it is!
  4. Vacuous speculation, probably based on some rich t*sser (sorry, banker) gossip.
  5. I suggest more people take a look at this post and check their perspective. I agree with everything except for the point that Brighton are unstoppable. They will have a mini slump before the end of the season (at least it's statistically vey likely) and that will make the race for automatic promotion very interesting.
  6. Peterborough have scored more goals than anyone else in the league, including 45 at home. They have a fast and agile attack that exposed the limitations of our defence. Our midfield was missing its two best players. The weather and the pitch weren't great. The ref had a bad day. We didn't lose away to a team with the second best home record in the league. All in all a draw is a fair result and it was a cracking game to watch. All those Colonel Blimps who pompously spout things like "this is totally unacceptatable" or "we should be beating teams like this" without ever seeing a moments live football should get out more and get a life. 57 points to play for and 80 odd should see automatic promotion. Onwards and upwards to the beating of Carlisle next weekend.
  7. Hail King Richard! Your strivings in the ninetieth minute have raised me from the slough of despair. Now rise up and despatch these upstarts from Peter Bog Horror and fill again my breast with the pride I felt this Saturday past.
  8. Yeah, I thought we'd scored! Still, Swindon have equalised.
  9. It does look good, in three years time could that be... ? Lol at Pompey, mind you, they had to play the stadium cat, a stray dog and that fat bloke who likes to make a fool of himself in the stands as the overage player the last time out.
  10. That was a truly great team performance. The performance today of the likes of Harding, Chaplow, Schneiderlin and Butterfield should be really worrying a few Championship teams right now, this team could do great things in that league right now.
  11. Reading that brings on a warm glow of pride. I think the best thing that could happen to the club is to get back to the Premier League follwing an Arsenal style model rather than a Man City or Chelsea one.
  12. We'll get him next season when he and Eddie Howe get homesick, having never lived north of the M4 before. Eddie Howe will take over a few miles to the east, promising to save them from League Two oblivion.
  13. "On the 26th January 2011 he signed a six-month loan deal with Southampton. Southampton have the first option to buy N'Guessan at the end off the 2010/11 season." From Wikipedia (so it must be true!) Fits in with the living within our means mantra NC has mentioned before. If he works out we buy him at a fee already agreed (I guess), if not, it's thank you and goodbye. Makes good business sense.
  14. From the mouth of N. Cortese "If there's any lack of commitment [from the family] we have a plan B. I know people with money who would have the same attitude as Markus who would join us on this. But, just to underline, the commitment of the family is 100%." - from his BBC interview. I shall continue to believe this until there is concrete evidence otherwise.
  15. 11:26 comes and goes...
  16. People worry about NA's interviews, well here's the Tranmere manager's thoughts about playing us from the BBC website: "Southampton is a fantastic club and too big for our division, but so are Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton and Huddersfield. "But at the end of the day, they're in League One and it's great to play them. "I don't like talking about luck, but switching off is an area we've got to look at. "There's 90 minutes in a game, we've got to concentrate for 90 minutes and do the simple things well." If we get out of the building but stay on the bus, I'm sure we will do OK!
  17. To paraphrase George Orwell, "Pardew good, Adkins better".
  18. Ah, that would be why I can't remember it! I haven't seen them away that often, but to have been there tonight would have been something to treasure. Well done the 500.
  19. Oh yes, I'd forgotten that - it wasn't so long ago, either. (I blame a good Sicilian red wine!)
  20. Gobsmacked! Words fail me, this is just the best result I can remember (cup finals, etc, excluded). I cannot recall that Saints have won 6-0 away before, ever. Has it been done?
  21. Excellent news. Another piece of the five year jigsaw falls into place.
  22. Take all the money we can while he and Kenney Jackett are still in love and the hat-trick is fresh in the memory.
  23. Whoops! Looking at this morning's table.
  24. How much do you think Pardew would pay for Lambo?
  25. Still only 1 point off a play-off place.
