  1. As a former reader of Whizzer and Chips I use 'He-he' all the time. At present I'm imagining that the lady in question, although a comic-buyer in the late 1970's and sadly the owner of a fully grown adult, is nevertheless a terrific MILF. Hurrah!
  2. Contorversially I think its us and QPR staying up. BTW Villa are absolutely fuc.ked aren't they!!!!
  3. Agreed. Refs too impressed by Fellaini and Everton. Good performance by us so far... deserve to lead.
  4. Just read this...
  5. Ahem... As good a manager as Adkins is, I think this may be going a little too far. At present it seems to me his best quality is his preparedness to learn from his mistakes - which he made plenty of at the beginning of the season. Whether he will continue to learn remains to be seen.
  6. As ridiculous, illogical and emotional as these statements are, they are nonetheless true. I could no more change my allegiance and fandom of Saints than I could cut of my head and then watch telly. Sad though it is sometimes, its still the case that I was born a Saint and will remain one whatever. Its about knowing where you're from.
  7. Looking at these guys track record, this has unmitigated disaster written all over it. Still, life in the NPC was fun and even L1 had its upsides. Down we go................................................ again.
  8. Sir, that is bonkers!
  9. Surprisingly and controversially... the Prodigy. The sound seemed really sludgy and far too much rawk, than dance... guess its just the way they've gone these days. Agree about Lou Reed/ reformed Velvets - dull as fu.ck. Also, Bjork - yawn.
  10. Hmmm... Primal Scream, Underworld, Chemical Brothers all consistently great. BUT, best performance ever for me has probably been Flaming Lips at Bestival 2010 (?). Wasn't expecting much but the show was amazingly infectious. Honourable mentions to PJ Harvey (spellbinding), LCD Soundsystem (only saw them once to my huge regret) and PiL. I'm 41 btw and have been going to see bands since I was 16.
  11. Not sure a misunderstanding about football transfer rules can ever be spectacular... unfortunate perhaps?
  12. You're not wrong there.
  13. Hi guys, long-time lurker/first-time poster here! Just wanted to say that I've followed this thread with interest for a while now and thanks for all the tips. As its not long to go before the big day I'm heading off to my bunker now, so good luck all and try not to get too down about the end of the world. If you survive the initial death-phase and emerge blinking into the smog/debris/zombie-dogs etc. wasteland that follows, look out for me. My plan is to become a cult-leader, carry a chainsaw and do quite a lot of killing. I'll be wearing a Saints scarf, just for old times sake. See you on the other side....
  14. Erm which paper was the leaked account printed in again? Think you'll find Murdoch journos will smear anyone if it earns 'em a buck. So naive to think the police are behind this...
  15. Hmmm... Sunderlund - D Fulham - W Stoke - L Arsenal - W Villa - (depends on which Villa turn up, but I reckon draw) - D = 8 pts.
  16. A couple of points. i) Agree that buying for the future rather than experience is an important observation - IMHO it makes the job of manager a bit harder. ii) Some of the footy we play now is brilliant to watch - and I think has more to offer long-term than other more direct styles. For these reasons, 'I'm in'. Mid-table this season = 10/10, survival = 6/10.
  17. Wouldn't disagree with much of that. But is the welfare system our countries biggest problem? Nope, its a lack of demand for our goods and services thats killing us - and demand is created by putting money in peoples pockets. I suggest we look more toward how we can raise low pay and keep the cash we generate in the country. Ie. not let it pour out in the form of untaxed profits for multinationals.
  18. Because we live in a society with rules, structures and history, it is not possible to just 'earn your own money'. Your economic decisions happen in a context. In the UK's case, that context is a functioning stable state with infrastructure and education system and a police force etc. They all contribute to an individual 'earning his own money'. Therefore, to want to keep all your own money and not pay tax is greedy - it forces others to pay more tax. HTH.
  19. Minor point, but isn't that 9 month maternity leave voluntary? You could always cut it short and then you wouldn't have to rely on, (sorry, yearn for) benefits? Besides, you've got options - you could always move to a cheaper area where your outgoings are less? Just like the govt suggest to the unemployed when they say there are no jobs in their area - you've just got to learn to be flexible, get on yer bike etc..
  20. Careful, we don't want that kind of sensible post on here. Get yer agenda ahhhhhhtttttttttt.
  21. Sounds like the job for you then Delldays, whats stopping you?
