I heard it loud & clear on the radio. I had to explain to Mrs Geezer though.

I had one! I badgered my parents for it for christmas, but I'm sure in was about £50 rather than nearly £70 as quoted in the link. I had to buy the monitor (telly ) myself & got a second-hand b&w for £25 from Huskys on The Triangle. I had tipex marks on the cassette player volume control, one on the casing & one on the knob which had to be lined up correctly to download games. Then I got the 16k RAM pack, wow.... there was no stopping me then. I loved the look of the thing, it was so cool, but the flat keyboard was a problem when "gaming" as you couldn't feel the key positions, I got around this problem by building up small piles of those self adhesive reinforcing rings (the sticky rings you put on holes in paper so they don't tear when you put it in ring binders) on the relevant keys, so you could feel them without looking away from the screen.

It's a slippery slope. A girl I work with started 'social' smoking 5 years ago at the age of 28. She's now on 40-a-day & can't give up.

Patience will be the first thing to go when you give up the fags.

We battered Carlisle in the JPT final last year, with the biggest following any single team has ever taken to Wembley - not too shabby.

Yes very. I'm in the construction industry & haven't filled a timesheet with more tha 60% productive time since before christmas. Saintsweb, facebook, minesweeper & solitaire are my only 'entertainment'.

I, for one, don’t like the All Saints Day tribute, I’d prefer to see bereavements remembered at the next home game. Having said that, the club have made this decision that is their prerogative, and something I respect.. It should be remembered it wasn’t NC who implemented this, it was one of the previous regimes. The exception being When ML died, and I can understand why the club did it. ML ploughed millions of his own money into the club, Deano, and I don’t mean any disrespect to him, was someone who worked for the club for 2 years. Yes he was a very good player, he died very young, but should the club change their philosophy whenever a ‘fans favourite’ passes on? Who should decide whom we honour in this way & whom we don’t? As mentioned by others, the club has been involved with tributes in the last week or so and in my opinion, it’s disrespectful to Deano’s memory to use this as a stick to beat NC with.

Was it us? I think we were relegated in '74 finishing 3rd bottom, with ManUre one place below.

You're blatently cheating, you originally had "Annti Crouch" in flagrant breach of the rules, and I don't recall Leon Crouch being particularly tall.
-
In fairness to Forecast, since he's been sat on the bench, he's done it very well.
-
I don't think so, Andy "Thunderclap" Newman, was from Hounslow, Jimmy McCullogh was from Glaswow, John Keen from Ealing & Bijou Drains (aka Pete Townshend) was from Chiswick.

Absolutely correct. Mind you if we finish 6th & get promoted, you wont hear me complaining. Fickle? Moi?

I live in Bitterne Park, just off the approach for the airport. I was waiting for the Spitfire to take off this morning & it flew right over the top of me, circling a couple of times before flying off to Southampton Water, I managed to get a couple of pics. Twenty minutes or so later, I just happened to be walking out of my front door, as it came into land. It scared the living cr@p out of me, the roar of the engine as it flew about 50ft above me was awsome. This afternoon we were treated to a free air display for about 10 minutes as it looped & dived over Bitterne Park & out over Chilworth direction. I've been fortunate enough to see several Spitfires take of & land over the years. It never fails to make the hairs on my neck stand on end. It really is a beautiful machine & the sound of the Merlin engine is just something else. I can imagine that seeing a whole squadron taking-off during the war would have been breathtaking.

A much fairer system would be for the top 3 to be promoted, it's a lot simpler and a lot fairer. Unfortunately though it doesn't make any money. I for one would be pretty ****ed off if after finishing 3rd, someone like Colchester, or who ever, finishing 6th, beat us in a one-off game.

Peter Pod & the Peas. In the late 80's they once supported the Glitter Band (without the kiddie fiddler) at the Railway Institute in Eastliegh. PP&TP played their bit, then everyone left. The Glitter Band played too about 20 people. I was with about 10 of them & we only stayed because the beer was cheap.

The difference between Southampton and Brighton...
Dimond Geezer replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Why? Man U won on Saturday & lost last night didn't they? -
It says 7 on here: http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=23702 with Chappie & Spiderman on 6 each.

No probs. I thought you were doubting the possibilty of being knocked out by a football, as you say it does seem along time.
-
I once knocked out my right back. I caught the ball from a corner & tried to quickly launch it upfield. Unfortunately he didn't get out of the way quick enough & got the full force from about five yards away. It took him 5 minutes to come around, by which time the ambulance was on it's way.

He got away with it. I wonder how many others would've. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/9409644.stm

Terrible news. Far too young. Rip Deano

I'm sure full instructions are posted on the ticket machine. All you need to do is check here first before approaching the barrier, that way you can avoid looking a tit at the said barrier.
