Already been done, two weeks ago: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?27933-The-great-keeper-debate-!
-
I think it's the unit currently occupied by The YMCA charity shop.
-
Shouldn't this thread be in the Muppet Show, it is a joke after all, & been done to death in 3 or 4 threads over the last few weeks. Be careful what you wish for.

No way! I came on here & saw this. Absolutely gutted. Rip

Along the lines of "Chaplow dived, it was never a pen" then followed up with "I haven't seen the replay, but someone told me it was a dive", think he said something about Chappers owing them an apology (or I may have made that bit up, I've had a few beers:lol:). Ferguson Jnr is just like Ferguson Snr. No grace or class, but more spiteful. Chappers has seriously p!ssed him off. Never mind it's our gain.

That's amazing, It's still there, although it's no longer the last house in Heathfield. Its the last 'old' house facing the road, before you get to all the 1970's council type houses. You can see it on google maps, it's near the rear end of the garden. I lived in Heyes Drive for about 7 years up 'till 2000. I was only about 100yds from it.
-
I'm looking forward to it as well. I think we (England) have a good chance of winning the whole thing, hopefully with a grand slam. So I'll go 23-13 to England.

How do you know where I live Oh damn I see now - ******** I've been rumbled

In a similar vain, there is also the catermaran that was built in the garden on the corner of Avon rd & Midanbury Lane. It's been there at least 40 years. Take a look on google maps, you can also see it on street view. It'll be a long wait for the great flood to reach the boat as it's only about 10m lower than the highest point in the city.

In answer to the OP, I think this photo shows Mayes, next to the roadworks: http://www.oldukphotos.com/graphics/England%20Photos/Hampshire,%20Southampton,%20Bargate%20and%20High%20Street.jpg As an aside look at the length of the ladder leaning against the Midland Bank, the HSE would be having kittens about that nowadays.

Top Gear presenters in legal firing line over anti-Mexican comments
Dimond Geezer replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
My son does, he is (surprisingly) inteligent, but at 14 he probably has an excuse. -
Toomers was great. You could by single studs, rather than a pack of 12.

C & A was in Above Bar Street next to Guildhall Square, C&A being on the south side of the square, Plummers on the north side, I think the building has now been demolished as part of the Cultural Quarter development. Which reminds me of the joke: "why does my wife have c&a in her undies?" "so she can put them on around the right way"

I played in goal between the ages of 8 and 35 (I was a lazy git & didn't want to run around ), and I've never heard of this general rule to which you are alluding. I've looked a ***t many times, not always my fault though. I can recall several times a striker mis-hitting a shot & it going past me, because I was expecting a clean contact, or a defender flinging out a foot, thus deflecting the ball in the other direction to which I was going. That's not the keepers mistake is it!

I think 1576 is correct, I'm sure I remember Wimpey after Huckleberrys.
-
You're right, wasn't it a computer consumables shop at one time.
-
Just done a bit of googling, and I can't find anything on Mayes, but Owen & Owen, is actually called Owen Owen (without the 'and'), from wiki: "Owen Owen was founded by an individual called Owen Owen in Liverpool, where he opened a drapery shop" an example of un-imaginitive naming by his parents.
-
Almost, I believe you're correct by saying Owen & Owens was known as Mays, and you are right about TK Maxx, but Argos was also put into the footprint of Owens, although I can't recall the snooker hall.

I'm not criticising Bart, I'm merely pointing out some of his weaknesses to illustrate that he is not the god-like entity that some believe, in fact if you read my other posts you will see that I think he will do ok for us when his time comes, but he is not ready yet. I don't doubt that when he is our No.1, there will be numerous threads on this board calling for the reserve keeper at that time to be promoted to the first team. For your information I won't be one of them, as I choose to support the players in my team. FWIW if you use a certain amount of imagination, you probably could make it up.

We currently have the 2nd lowest goals against in L1, only Brightons is better, but as Chez said, we're short of whipping boys atm. There must some sort of disease, like a form of tourettes, sweeping saints fans that forces to criticise, ridicule & moan about our players. I sincerely hope the players don't read this site.

Ok, you chose 8 games, I’d like to choose 8, starting with Yeovil away & finishing with Shrewsbury in the cup we won 6, drew 1, losing the other, Davies was in goal for all conceeding 5 goals. Bring Bart in now would be a gamble because we need a few experienced heads, Bart is largely untried, whose distribution is worse (although admittedly quicker), who misjudges crosses, and who managed to get injured, at least twice due to his misjudgement, first in the Newcastle match when he did his knee & in the Cheltenham match when he was hesitant about coming out and claiming the ball and got clattered by Fonte. I’d sooner we didn’t take the risk thanks. All imho of course.

No, but they whine like buggery to get the things put in, at a cost of £thousands then don't use the bloody things. My commute takes me through Chilworth to Romsey, for a lot of the route there's a cycle path provided, but about 7/10 cyclists prefer to gamble with the traffic, and before anyone kicks off about me being a typical driver & having no regard for cyclists, I am one, albeit fair-weather. I cycle this route during the warmer months, using the paths provided as it is infinitely safer.
-
Unfortunately I think he has made up his mind to squeeze, are there any mitigating circumstances, such as there was an adjacent cycle lane that he wasn't using (that really bloody annoys me ), did he pull out without looking, was he speeding? I think you may have blown it with the insurance company. By notifying them, they know you were in an accident, whether there is a subsequent claim or not.

I've just been playing on facebook, (bit slow at work), there are plenty of footballers on there, including our very own Spiderman & Kelvin Davies, amongst others, maybe there's a way in there.

Absolute nonsense. KD hasn't consistently or regularly gifted goals. Like all players, not just goalkeepers, he has made the OCASSIONAL mistake. I would venture to suggest that during the course of a match he will make less mistakes than most outfield players. Everytime a striker misses a goal, it's a mistake, every time a defender misses a header, it's a mistake, every time a midfileder misplaces a pass, or gets caught in possession, it's a mistake. These are all things you see regularly in any match, but you don't consitently bleat on about Rickie hitting the post, Hammonds dodgy passing, or whatever. Bart is not the Messiah, he is largely unproven, equally dodgy on crosses, and kicks to touch more times than Johnny Wilkinson. As Hufton said it would be a gamble to put him in at this stage of the season. It amazes me that some posters seem to forget we are in Div 3, we have a players who are of div 3 ability (although I believe KD to be better than that), not champions league. You may wish to do a you-tube search you'll find planty of goalie cock-ups from the likes of Seamen, Bartez, Green, Hart, et al, even Shilton made some!
