We currently have the 2nd lowest goals against in L1, only Brightons is better, but as Chez said, we're short of whipping boys atm. There must some sort of disease, like a form of tourettes, sweeping saints fans that forces to criticise, ridicule & moan about our players. I sincerely hope the players don't read this site.

Ok, you chose 8 games, I’d like to choose 8, starting with Yeovil away & finishing with Shrewsbury in the cup we won 6, drew 1, losing the other, Davies was in goal for all conceeding 5 goals. Bring Bart in now would be a gamble because we need a few experienced heads, Bart is largely untried, whose distribution is worse (although admittedly quicker), who misjudges crosses, and who managed to get injured, at least twice due to his misjudgement, first in the Newcastle match when he did his knee & in the Cheltenham match when he was hesitant about coming out and claiming the ball and got clattered by Fonte. I’d sooner we didn’t take the risk thanks. All imho of course.

No, but they whine like buggery to get the things put in, at a cost of £thousands then don't use the bloody things. My commute takes me through Chilworth to Romsey, for a lot of the route there's a cycle path provided, but about 7/10 cyclists prefer to gamble with the traffic, and before anyone kicks off about me being a typical driver & having no regard for cyclists, I am one, albeit fair-weather. I cycle this route during the warmer months, using the paths provided as it is infinitely safer.

Unfortunately I think he has made up his mind to squeeze, are there any mitigating circumstances, such as there was an adjacent cycle lane that he wasn't using (that really bloody annoys me ), did he pull out without looking, was he speeding? I think you may have blown it with the insurance company. By notifying them, they know you were in an accident, whether there is a subsequent claim or not.

I've just been playing on facebook, (bit slow at work), there are plenty of footballers on there, including our very own Spiderman & Kelvin Davies, amongst others, maybe there's a way in there.

Absolute nonsense. KD hasn't consistently or regularly gifted goals. Like all players, not just goalkeepers, he has made the OCASSIONAL mistake. I would venture to suggest that during the course of a match he will make less mistakes than most outfield players. Everytime a striker misses a goal, it's a mistake, every time a defender misses a header, it's a mistake, every time a midfileder misplaces a pass, or gets caught in possession, it's a mistake. These are all things you see regularly in any match, but you don't consitently bleat on about Rickie hitting the post, Hammonds dodgy passing, or whatever. Bart is not the Messiah, he is largely unproven, equally dodgy on crosses, and kicks to touch more times than Johnny Wilkinson. As Hufton said it would be a gamble to put him in at this stage of the season. It amazes me that some posters seem to forget we are in Div 3, we have a players who are of div 3 ability (although I believe KD to be better than that), not champions league. You may wish to do a you-tube search you'll find planty of goalie cock-ups from the likes of Seamen, Bartez, Green, Hart, et al, even Shilton made some!

No you're not, there's nothing at my end of the road, & only 2 in the whole (very long) street, 1 ASB & 1 vehicle crime. But I do live in sunny Bitterne Park.

No. He should be pace or so back from it. When the player gets closer, like into the penalty box, that's when he covers near post.
-
I wonder how much critisism KD would have attracted if it was he who was out of position, & let the cross from Owen go over his head & hit the post? I'm sure there would have been a few piling up the rocks ready to throw in his direction.

I hope not, Dodd was acquitted, Piggott got 3 years.

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2277122,00.html He doesn't seem to be a prolific goal scorer, but hopefully he can set some up for Rickie: http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=41498

That would make the longer races interesting, when the back markers are 50m or so behind tha leaders, as they would be upside down. Harnesses may be need, or red-bull, to give 'em wings.

I think a someone may have touched a nerve. The lady doth protest too much

Over christmas there was a bloke on celebrity mastermind, called Rhys Thomas (no me neither ), his speciality subject was Queen (the band not HRH), he got a record score of 21, I equalled his score, but he was quicker on one than me . So I think I'll do that one then.

Plan to use crematorium to heat swimming pool
Dimond Geezer replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
Seems like a sensible use of resources to me. Once we've heated the pool can we dig the ashes into my garden, they'll work wonders on my roses -
Do we have a running track? I've never thought of the perimeter of the pitch as a running track. I can't see how we could add extra seating around the pitch perimeter, as it would be all the same level, ie not terraced. It would be very difficult for the people in the current Row A, which would be maybe 4 or 5 rows back in the new layout, to see properly.

I agree with this. Good luck to CN. I had the pleasure of bumping into him a couple of times in Southampton, once in Debenhams & once outside the Mayflower, both times he was happy to spend time & chat about SFC.

Do we need 2 threads of Kelvin bashing? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?27745-Time-for-Bart

 Good plan! In the 16 league games we've played since the start of October, our defence, who it would appear are unhappy & unconfident when playing in front of our calamitous keeper, have conceded massive 14 goals. Fonte, Jiadi, Harding et al must be sh!tting bricks when they see Kelvins name on the team sheet. So, in this push for promotion, when we need a few experienced heads, who do we replace him with, a largely untried keeper, whose distribution is worse (although admittedly quicker), who misjudges crosses, (there's nothing worse than a gk coming & missing a cross), and who managed to get injured, at least twice due to his misjudgement, first in the Newcastle match when he did his knee & in the Cheltenham match when he was hesitant about coming out and claiming the ball and got clattered by Fonte. KD is a top keeper, alright he may be a little slow getting the ball back into play, but his kicking is more accurate than Barts, he often comes out of his area to effect a clearence, and with the exception of QPR (I think) has never made a mess of it. As for his inability on crosses - god knows where that particular urban myth has originated. One day Bart will be our keeper, but he's not ready yet.

Has anyone else noticed that Dune/Stanleys latest avatar shows a “reactionary, mean-spirited, selfish, bigoted, anti-Irish, anti-Catholic, racist, misogynistic and anti-Semitic”…” with a chip on his shoulder and an angry word on everything .” (to quote Wiki). Sort of appropriate really. A character who was created as a figure of ridicule, and portrayed by a left winger, Warren Mitchell once being a paid up member of the Labour Party. I think the only difference between Dunley & Alf, is Garnett was a West Ham fan. Dunely is one of ours.

"Mr Barbar - a 57-year-old maintenance supervisor who weighs almost 125 kilograms (275 pounds) - said he regularly ate fast food until 1996, when a doctor warned his diet could potentially kill him. Mr Barbar said he had already had two heart attacks and has been suffering from diabetes. "I always thought it was good for you. I never thought there was anything wrong with it," he said." Dontcha love thick yanks.
