What a total and utter shambles, and I bet Lowe still displayed one of his pompous smiles after the game.
-
This must prove once and for all, that Lowe knows absolutely nothing about football. Surely having got rid of two of your main strikers, you do not get rid of probably the only other striker, capable of scoring the goals to keep us up.[ And for those saying it is imperative due to the finances, is going down a division really gong to be a step in the right direction]. I am pretty sure that he did not want to leave either.
-
Let us not forget that Andrew Davies did not want to leave Saints.
-
I walked out after the second goal[ first time ever, after 45 years supporting the team]. With a decent penalty taker, and proper defending , it should have been Saints 2-0 up and coasting. When I left I counted at least 12 others leaving. Watford are another dreadful footballing side to end up beating us easily. The pretty football is all well and good if you stick the ball in the net and defend properly we do niether. Finally if we are going to sign players on loan or permantly, surely they should be defenders .
-
People pay good money to watch England, so if they choose to boo a player that is their prerogative. The fact that the player concerned is a money grabbing , sex cheat, probably does not help his cause.
-
Gary Birtles said on co - commentary that we do not defend long throwings well. We do not defend period.

I have no problem with this appointment at all. Good luck Giles, with the job, I hope it goes really well for you and the club.

Coventry V Saints - Pre Match Views and Predictions
corsacar saint replied to saint lard's topic in The Saints
How often do we win 3 games in a row. Ido not not think Coventry are any great shakes, though.[ Would settle for a point]. -
For a club that is skint, this will be another few thousand added the wage bill, but what the heck.
-
Wait and see Berkshire, I hardlly think that both Andrew Flintoff and Stuart Law would publically slate the decision, if they both thought he was over the hill, and had nothing further to offer anyone.
-
Age immaterial, you can never have too many winners in your team. Absolutely delighted.
-
Great day with Hampshire winning as well.
-
Terrific result, and a superb second half to the season. Well done Hampshire from a very pleased member. [ And a special well done to Liam Dawson for his maiden[And hopefully first of many] championship century].
-
Mark Dennis, cares about the club, he shows his passion the same as a lot of fans. Jimmy Case, Jason Dodd and other great ex players get knocked on here to. I guess to some so called fans that is their prerogative to be critical.[ Did all these fans ever see how good the likes of Dennis, Case and Dodd were in a Saints shirt, I doubt it]. Perhaps a bit more respect is warranted to them.

We were very fortunate to hang on for a point, the defense is an utter shambles, especially the two full back positions. If we do not beat Barnsley, I do not see us getting out of the bottom four all season. The two plusses were Peckhart and Cork, and we only have them both to january. Pretty depressing, and yes Lallana should be added to the plusses.

Duncan is a top guy , end of.
-
Another excellent performance. I am sure that Stuart Clark, said how highly he rated Jimmy Adams, when he was here last year.[ Got to feel sorry for Michael Brown though- they cannot drop anyone except Benham to accomodate him, and he was terrific as well tonight].
-
Magnificent win against allthe odds, did not expect that at all. I think this result gives us an even money chance of staying up.[ Provided that we get no unfair points deduction]. Well done in particular to Sean Ervine.

Mick Channon in hospital following car crash
corsacar saint replied to saintbletch's topic in The Saints
Get well as quickly as possible Mick and Jack. I hope you are back running your stables Mick, as soon is humanly possible.[Along with many other Saints fans ,Mick and MLT ARE my two favourite Saints players in 45 years of supporting the club]. -
Went up until tea time, my mate had to be back. I had a good ten minute chat with Mark Davies - Andrews brother[ he took 8-24, and he said it was mainly down to bad batting we only got 96 all out]. Ervine dropped a catch and Pothas missed a stumping, which cost us 50 runs , the match and probably relegation. Then if you score 96 all out and are 108 for 5 chasing 240 do you deserve to stay up. By the way Mark Davies as well as being an excellent bowler, is a genuinely nice guy.

I am going tomorrow with a friend, and after seeing the score was seriously thinking about changing my mind. I am absolutely fuming. I played village cricket for years, and thought these collapses only happened there. [ Could you please advise me on parking- I am disabled and have a blue badge]. Dimi is going to have to play the innings of his life. We surely cannot expect Liam Dawson to get us out of the mire again. Regards corsacar saint

The last hour, could be the defining part of our season, and has maybe gone a long way to sealing our relegation. Totally infuriating, especially as we have been playing well for the last few weeks.[ I sincerely wish we had signed Mark Davies when Andrew came to Saints, and posted this at the time].
-
Ervine was magnificent, as was the future England star Liam Dawson. Well done Hampshire.[ Is it a coincidence, we have started winning since the departure of Paul Terry?]
-
1965onwards is spot on with his opinion on Surman. Nice guy, Saints fan, loves the club, however no more than average championship player. Above all he has little or no pace.

Hampshire vs Somerset (CC - starts 19-08-08)
corsacar saint replied to Leicestersaint's topic in General Sports
Just been up, at last Lumb has come to the party. Ervine and Mascharenas also batted well. Very impressed by Liam Dawson, he looks to have a wonderful temperment.[ I am sure he is a future England player].
