  1. Nah, it's the end of the game - they have got away with it - and have given all clubs wanting to go down that path a blueprint of how to get away with it. A precedent has now been set and HMRC will not want to get their nose bloodied yet again. As I said earlier, football is now bullet-proof and will now really go on the rampage.
  2. Football in this country are now bullet-proof with this judgment - and they will know it. Stand by for more nonsense - especially from the Premier League. A chance to start the clean-up has been missed. I've already bought my Saints season ticket, but although its nothing to do with Saints I really feel that I cannot support this tower of sh*t that football has become with my money any more. This may be my last season ticket.
  3. At least I can resume my previous opinion of HMRC. A bunch of c**ts!
  4. No appeal then - they HAVE got away with it. Big green light for any other cheats out there - I'm falling out of love with football!
  5. Here's hoping
  6. Remember watching big Mercs and Jags going through at giveaway prices, whilst Minis were fetching ridiculously high prices in the Oil Crisis in the early 70's, the one when the Government issued the petrol ration books.
  7. Presumably the FL would want to know whether they are going to be there or not before the season kicks off. So someone's going to have to make a quick decision on liquidation or not. If they don't start the season it's going to cause a lot of problems in the Championship.
  8. Who knows? These judges are notoriously unpredictable. I always remember that old fool Denning - his judgements often ignored law altogether and when challenged put it down to "interpretation". One of the most publicly known judges thanks to his report on the Profumo Affair, Denning was held in high regard by much of the judiciary, the Bar and the public, and was noted for his bold judgments running counter to the law at the time. During his 38 year career as a judge he made large changes to the common law, particularly while in the Court of Appeal, and although many of his decisions were overturned by the House of Lords several of them were confirmed by Parliament, who passed statutes in line with his judgments. Although appreciated for his role as 'the people's judge' and his support for the individual, Denning was also controversial for his campaign against the common law principle of precedent and as Master of the Rolls for his conflict with the House of Lords.
  9. They definitely weren't relegated in January, so how come they qualified for parachute payments? No wonder the other clubs wanted them thrown out! Is Susan Boyle actually booked for a gig at FP tonight?
  10. Also, were they actually relegated when they received these payments? I can't actually remember whether they were already down in March.
  11. Might see you in there then, I'll be the one in the Saints shirt. Oh
  12. Not too bad, usually get served in a couple of minutes - never seen it 6 deep at the bar or any of that nonsense.
  13. Very, plenty of room on the pavement outside though! BTW, I haven't been in the Duke of Wellington in Bugle Street for years, but the chap who used to own it upped sticks and opened the Wellington Arms in Park Road, Freemantle, which is a cracking pub.

I'm sure John McGrath used to aim for that with his clearances
  16. Could well be - having a member club going into administration was bad enough, but having one get liquidated would have been a huge embarrasment for the self-styled "best and richest league in the world". Of course the PL couldn't give a sh*t now they've gone.
  17. They did vote against Palarse's CVA, but didn't appeal presumably because the CVA was properly prepared and they didn't think they'd win. In contrast to that other CVA down the road.
  18. When can you start?
  19. At least he's stopped with all the..............dots.
  20. And have done for years.
  21. It's time we told the Americans that we don't have a "special relationship" with them. But of course they already know that.
  22. Belhadj has definitely gone http://www.al-saddclub.com/output/page5524.asp Al Sadd OS
  23. Personally I would be much more comfortable having a defensive force on the Japanese model. Getting dragged into unwinnable wars on the US's coat-tails has to stop - does no-one any good. We should defend our shores - end of.
  24. Good post. Wholeheartedly agree.
