Isn't our next game Burnley, or am I completely missing something?!
-
I like him & glad we have him on board. He has big potential and can only get better IMO. He doesn't have the brain of a striker, but he causes other problems - working in the spaces between full-back & centre-back. He stretch's teams about & creates space for others. Maybe call him a "forward" if people can't get their head around his position. With Boufal & Jay hopefully getting back to fitness, Claude is going to have a few new options in his selection box which bodes very well.

Maybe this is the guy we were supposed to get last time but it got lost in translation https://www.clubcall.com/southampton/saints-keen-on-la-liga-wideman-1827145.html

Tiemoue Bakayoko... Monaco Defensive Midfielder
SuperSAINT replied to spyinthesky's topic in The Saints
We were looking at both Idrissa Gueye & Kante before they moved to the prem, so I'd like to think we know who to watch when it comes to DM's. More importantly, Claude will know exactly what he wants to fit his system. -
As we are often playing every 3 days or so and making 7 to 8 changes per game, I reckon fitting him in wont be the slightest problem

Boufal & J-Rod coming back gives us some real options when it comes to rotation as well.

What a difference Chadli has made to WBA. £13m very well spent.

Has anyone, like, done a tune for Matt Targett? Yes. Yes they have.

Not as skilled as his Bertrand or Juanmi renditions, but fine work none the less. -
He does look impressive. They have some nice striker options: - Vardy - Slimani - Musa - Okazaki - Ulloa They've got something their for just about any option you'd want. Pace / Heading / Graft / Power.

Would make sense at this stage.

Same as last week for me too: ---------Forster---------- Cedric Fonte Virgil Bertrand ----------Romeu----------- -----Hojbjerg---Davis----- ----------Tadic----------- ------Austin Redmond------

Felt like we made about 300 crosses tonight and could have made 300 more and still not scored. Will be very useful to have Rodriguez & Boufal as options in the near future.
-
I hope so as that would make me ITK

Saints beat Crystal Palace 2-0 in EFL Cup. Sunderland at home next

Re: The next round: Adnan Januzaj will be out for 6 weeks with ankle ligament damage. Another blow for him. #SAFC #MUFC -
That's quite likely - he's a Rolls Royce of a defender. The big concern for me in the long-term is the prospect of losing both centre-backs in the same window.
-
Very true. At least we are historically better at holding onto people in January than we are the summer.

Sounds like the Sam stuff is only the tip of the iceberg.

**BUMP** Any news on when he's returning?
-
This is quite a tricky one as the Leicester game is very close to it. I think we should switch out both full-backs, as they both covered big ground on Sunday. I think we will keep one of the centre-backs in. I'm assuming we won't opt for Reed or Hesketh in this match as starters so Clasie & JWP will feature. I've kept Romeu / Tadic in & opted for Redmond & Long up top: -----------Forster----------- Martina Yoshida Virgil Targett ------------Romeu----------- --------Clasie---JWP--------- -----------Tadic------------- -------Long-----Redmond------
-
I noticed that too. It's quite a fluid system, so it varies.

Did you see their heat touch maps? Ridiculous. Martina & Targett to play on Thursday IMO.

I thought that cross he managed to pull out of the sky was fantastic. Austin would've had a tap in if he followed it.
