  1. Did they announce Holder-Spooner leaving? We found out about that because solent listed him as a Bournemouth trialist in a reserve game.
  2. Nice one. Sure I remember hearing at the time that when this was announced that no club would currently achieve cat.1 status. Which goes to show you the sort of level you need to reach to get it.
  3. I suppose the key word in the article is 'IF' we want him. Can't be hard to beat the skates' offer!
  4. ...and Sam Baldock who we were linked with in January.
  5. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6963355,00.html
  6. I'd imagine Burnley are favourites, but I'd love him to sign for us. Fantastic player, with bags of experience at this level.
  7. I'm not his father, and I say he'd be better off at Saints.
  8. Nathan Dyer: Player of the year. Who'd have thought it?
  9. Aren't we getting him then?
  10. ...and Reading if they go up.
  11. Wouldn't argue with the already mentioned trio of Smithies, Clarke or Pilkington. Pilkington is quality, and one of the very few two-footed players around. He must be out of action for a long time with his injury though... Not to mention Huddersfield aren't exactly short of cash.
  12. Gutted for Huddersfield. Would be very pleased to take CMS off their hands. As a side-note, Tomlin & Wesolowski are 2 of the fattest footballers I've ever seen.
  13. Agree. But it is the summer
  14. Think Turkish was aiming at sarcasm
  15. Hopefully the rest of Bailey's wish-list will come true as well then
  16. Norwich want Morison too? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_6954655,00.html
  17. Zenden would be a class apart in the championship. He'd be on some pretty hefty money up there, though.
  18. Great point. Think the league 1 all-star policy would still work to a partial degree. CMS & Pilkington would both easily do a job in the championship (although would probably both cost a fortune) I'm curious to see what business we do, as well. The last few season's have always left us with clear, defined gaps in the squad. This year, we've got cover for every position, so I would imagine (and hope) that we'll be signing players that would walk straight into the first XI.
  19. West Ham don't need a manager to sign players
  20. No chance, mate. For 100 different reasons.
  21. Seems likely. Can't see us landing CMS. He'll be Norwich bound.
  22. Good read. Love his optimism of signing someone like Snodgrass.
  23. Not my favourite goal as such, but certainly my favourite saints youtube clip... The commentary alone is priceless, and probably sums up the moment quite nicely.
  24. If I remember correctly, he was out of contract, but there was an interview with him where he said he didn't sign a new one with us because our manager at the time [Harry] wouldn't pick him. I remember it well, because we had 2 games against lower league opposition in the league cup where we played the kids. We won the 1st game and Harry said "well, in fairness, we should be beating them...". Then in the next round we played a similar team, lost and he had a right pop at them saying something like "people keep telling me that these kids can play, but if they can't beat a lower league team then they really aren't good enough". Basically it was a dig at Rupert, who must've been telling him to give the nippers a chance.
  25. Glad we've signed him up. He's a beast, and been promoted from the championship before.
