Haven't seen all the game tonight, but Nicky Bailey at Charlton has really impressed me tonight. Sits back, dictates play. Long/short passes to feet with either foot, breaks into the box, and not afraid to strike from distance. (I'm probably jinxing him, because he'll probably miss a penalty or something before it's over, but he looks a top player)

In Pards I trust. We had a similar issue with left-back's last year, and he pulled Dan Harding out of the bag.

I can see both sides to the argument regarding Hammond. I think he's fine for us in league 1, but I don't think he'd be up to scratch when we move up to the championship.

Wowsers. No real suprising names there, except Lloydy. Shows you how far we came from early on the season, because he was the only guy who could cross the ball! We'll miss Thomas & Perry's experience, but I think we all knew they were offski anyway. Gutted for Murty too - A fit Murty would've been quality for us. So that's 4 players out who can play at Right-back!! - Methinks we'll need more than Calderon! Wonder how much we've trimmed off the wage bill with that lot? If I put my FM head on, then i'd say it's around 30k p/week which I reckon free's up wages for 3 or 4 top players at this level.

Agree mate. Just think Perry will go. My point was, if we only have the 4 DC's left, it's only worth bringing another one in if he's as good as either Jaidi or Fonte IMO.

My take on centre-back's is that it'll be Jaidi/Fonte with Seabourne/Martin as cover. Perry won't be around IMO. Jaidi / Fonte are championship class, so i'd only sign up another one if one became available in the Jaidi / Fonte bracket of class.

Agreed. Thing is, Solent have a commercial deal with the club - So the 'rumour' that Marcus wasn't happy, isn't just some random rumour, IMO. I'm also fairly sure that the article in the mail about his job being under threat was fed to the mail by Pardew too. No smoke without fire, and I fear he'll leave after the meeting. It'll be a shocking decsion if that happens.

I wouldn't want him - But he is the type of player we need if we lost Lambo for any amount of time. His name did cross my mind yesterday, actually after I heard Pards talking about needing a similar type of player to Rickie. What about Alan Lee at Palace? Or Kevin Kyle?

THOMAS -- Ideal player to have in the squad, covers 2 positions, but don't think that merits 8k a week. LANCASHIRE -- Not going to cut it for us at the level we're aiming for. PERRY -- Been a great player for us. But contract is up. GILLETT - Fresh start needed. PULIS -- No comment needed. HOLMES -- I rate him when fit, and on form. But neither of those 2 things happen enough! THOMSON -- I had high hopes, but Punch/Antonio are on another level. McCLAGGON -- Loan move, perhaps? WHITE -- Been hit by injuries. Fresh start needed.

Carsley would be a top signing. How about someone who was getting premiership games, but is no longer a premiership player -- Wade Elliott?
