Bollix our CBs aren't good enough our strikers couldn't score in a brothel.
-
Remember when we had a good defence....****e defenders ****e strikers and people reckon we have a top half team lol I see Hoj has reverted back to last seasons Hoj then total ****e..
-
I see Man U have dropped deep and are defending a lead remind you of anyone..

Well clearly that's not true if he loved it he would have stayed. Its like saying I love my wife but this sexy 21 year old is more attractive so I'm going to leave her. I still love her though....honest

Roberston had just played a season in the PL with Hull Falkirik isn't lower league its a foreign league different question Ings was signed after a season playing in the PL Gomez far enough basically an Oxo situation Bogdan was signed as a back up keeper Adam was signed after playing a season in the PL Ward another practically unused back up keeper. So in other words hardly any apart from one wonder kid, Players who had already played in the PL and back up keepers how did nik-nak ever fend off all those offers.

I heard Dean Hammond was hours away from a record breaking transfer to spurs in the summer 2010 until NC put his foot down...
-
how many players from the lower leagues have spurs and Liverpool bought over recent years. Dele Ali is about all I can come up with there might be one or two others. We had one player that a PL club wanted when NC was here and how did that turn out.....oh yeah he folded like a pack of cards because Oxo's family made it difficult...

How would that work? His style requires a lot of coaching and fitness work not sure how he would implement that with a squad he only works with for a short space of time a few weeks a year
-
Didn't he have problems his first season at spurs with players like Adebayor? I suppose its possible that if he went to a club like Real or Barca they would let him by hungry young unknowns but clubs like that have to be seen to be signing the "Big" players and no one is going to tell a messi or Ronaldo they need to be doing double training sessions. Spurs is a good fit for him really biggish club but also a bit tight so they are happy to give him cheaper young players to mould to his style. Maybe Atlético Madrid would be more his style.

I'm not sure Poch is suited to a big club like Real Madrid having big name players who call the shots just doesn't suit him. What Poch thrives on is young or ambitious older players who he can motivate to play his style with all the hard work that entails. A team full of Galacticos who have already made it to the top of their game are unlikely to buy into the Poch way.

yes if you get relegated your points total is irrelevant you're still relegated...

It would have been 24 - 20 if Tadic wasn't so **** at penalties...

Redmond shows the spark Southampton need to seal top flight survival http://www.bing.com/news/apiclick.aspx?ref=BDIGeneric&aid=C98EA5B0842DBB9405BBF071E1DA7651530FFE51&tid=62F0E78246FD49EFBC2A02378178F47F&url=https%3a%2f%2fwww.footballfancast.com%2fpremier-league%2fsouthampton%2fredmond-shows-the-spark-southampton-need-to-seal-top-flight-survival&c=13543527307189243316&mkt=en-gb

Out of interest has any relegated PL side ever sold 12 players upon relegation?

interesting bit from this article http://www.football365.com/news/premier-league-winners-and-losers-93 ‘One thing that hasn’t changed is Southampton’s abysmal shooting. They rank seventh in the division for chances created, bettered only by the current top six. Southampton’s shot accuracy of 38.7% puts them 18th, while they only fare marginally better for shot conversion (8.5% – 16th).’ So despite the fact we play negative football and don't try to win games the only teams to create more chances than us are the top 6? We can't, it seems, actually score the chances we create though with some of the worst finishing in the league which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone who has watched us play this season there doesn't seem to one instinctive natural finisher in our whole front line bar Austin who can't seem to manage a season.

Which "cheap option" would you employ for The Championship?
doddisalegend replied to Bad Wolf's topic in The Saints
that was my shout to only I read the OP as "must have managed in the last five years" but apparently it reads "musn't have managed in the last five years" as such might as well just give Rickie Lambert the job.. -

Neil Warnock the guy is a **** but his record in the lowers leagues is pretty impressive -
yeah they would have actually had to push men up leaving space in behind for sims, long and Redmond to counter attack into rather than playing for the draw all game like they did..
-
like they did yesterday...
-
We would have scored yesterday if Austin was playing or Boufal could direct a free header on target.

I don't think we set out not to lose this has become a tired cliché people are just trotting out every game now. Stoke where the team that had everyone, bar Shaqiri, behind the ball 1st half and we tried to break them down but we lack a player who can unlock that sort of defence. Second half Stoke clearly had a plan to nick one based around sticking crouch on Cedric which caused problems but we where still the more attacking team we just lack quality finishers upfront (plus their goal keeper made some great saves).
-
Good chances? Not a really couple of half chances more like both sides where woeful in front of goal.
-
Taking this game in isolation I thought it was pretty entertaining for a 0-0 draw and we where the better team. If we were safely in mid table I would have quite enjoyed todays game sadly in our position draws are no ****ing good. I'm pretty sure Stoke saints and westbrom will be enjoying the championship next season. As for the players I thought Redmond had his best game in a long time, Sims was fun to watch and Lemina was good. Cedric was awful.

Getting to the Game - What's the weather really like...??
doddisalegend replied to Micky's topic in The Saints
It was more the "business as usual" although TBF late and delayed trains pretty much is business as usual... -
