  1. Yep might as well get a decent championship manager in now and start pre season. This manager and these players are taking us down.
  2. Our CBs are taking us down I'd rather Yoshida played ... And there is the goal.. We are so so ****...
  3. Probably feels he needs to get in on the act and match the two teams general crapiness.
  4. Another mistake by a saints CB... Is it in their contracts to make at least one **** up every game?
  5. For a team in a relegation battle our players seem particularly unbothered and lacking in any urgency.
  6. According to the PL official site Man city have more back passes than any other team in the PL.....go figure
  7. Interestingly we are pretty low down the table for the headed clearances stats this season (14th place 334 headed clearances) weirdly the teams below us in that stat are City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Crystal palace (?) I guess the best teams keep the ball better so have to deal with a lot less high balls into the box not surprisingly Burnley have the most headed clearances in the league this season....so expect saints to bombard their box with high crosses all game https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/clubs/head_clearance
  8. The issue is with the exception of Bertrand ( and possibly Tadic) I'm not sure there will be many takers for most of those "outs" . Even if we do the players probably aren't going to be to impressed with their new wage offers and might decide to sit on those nice big contracts.
  9. Lost 4-2 over two legs, and by the sound of it, got a nice big helping from ex saint Calum Chambers who was a fault for both goals (well actually Calum scored the first one ). Sounds like a decent manager though.
  10. yeah Shane Long has only had one goal scoring chance all season
  11. So what does that make our strikers who can't score against these poor sides then?
  12. the total confusion of feelings would be quite amusing...
  13. And Id agree with that to I'd quite happily see MoPe out the door and not shed a tear. My point is there is more to our current predicament than just the manager. It's interesting that WBA are allegedly looking to replace Pardew already.. https://a.msn.com/r/2/BBJmxi6?m=en-gb
  14. Marginally better off... My position hasn't changed from last season the squad isn't as good as it used to be. The last few transfer Windows have seen a decline in from the squad that finished 6th to the point where the manager is only part of the problem. As this thread is about the Burnley game let's take an example. Our only two senior CBs currently available are Stephens and Hoedt both are poor in the air playing against a side that likes to play, two up front, direct to a big CF. Doesn't matter who the manager he can't do much about that poor recruitment has left us with this situation.
  15. Why? we would still have no solid CBs, pace in the side, or attacking players clinical enough to take the chances we created. That would still be the case even if we were being managed by Pep.
  16. I doubt Wigan will need extra time and penalties to progess tbh....
  17. It's more the fact the spurs players have the experience of playing on that pitch and its surroundings all season long. I'd make them play their semi final at the Emirates......
  18. I guess you missed this part in the OP FOUR past saints players while in their saints prime (So Bale/Shearer as they were for us, not later clubs). So Bale and Shearer aren't automatic choices based in that criteria.
  19. Cup isn't part of football trying to win trophies? One of the problems with the PL and Europe is that coming 2nd-6th in the league is celebrated like a massive achievement more important than winning an actual trophy.
  20. That is impressive but then they haven't had to face our free scoring goal machines Jack Stephens and JWP...
  21. Antti Niemi for McCarthy Killer in for Stephens That should tighten up the defence. Up front I'd be tempted to replace our strikers with 2003 vintage Beattie. Final choice is between MLT for Tadic or Mane for Boufal. Can't decide if I want pace or a Legend. Manager would probably WGS just because I like him Poch would be better obviously but I still think he is a bit if a ****
  22. Nailed on penalty shoot out. Wigan will have their entire team camped out in their own half and MoPe will get saints to "control" the game by playing it around between the two CBs for the whole game.
  23. De Gea build from the back...
  24. Of course they are no one has any confidence in the players or manager at the moment. Wigan (who have already beaten 3 PL sides at home in the cup) away, seems like a nailed on loss, to already low on confidence saints fans. Wigan will be up for it, used to winning most weeks, at home, crowd behind them, full of confidence and with 10 men behind the ball saints will fold like a pack of cards.
