So basically what he is saying is if you get out of the habit of going to watch football, for whatever reason(s), you'll find something else to do with your time......revealing stuff. As i couldn't afford to renew my ST i guess i'll become a fair weather fan to:(

I doubt it. It might change Scottish football...but as long as kilt wearing jocks want to kick a pigs bladder and other jocks want to watch them do it Scottish football would survive in some way.

I imagine they're passionate but familiarity breads contemempt how much nastier/exciting would an old firm derby be if the don't get one for 5 years

The old Rangers club no longer exsits right? How can it be fair for a new club to start in the countries top division or even in the football league proper surely they should have to start at the bottom of the Scottish footballing world (Highland league? the Tennants special brew wife beaters league?) and work they're way up... At least it might make the old firm derby a bit more special don't they play like 20 derbies a season in SPL must take the edge of it a bit.

Exactly...what PL chairman would say no. Any team in the PL could conceivably get into the CL by virtue of a lucky/great season....there's a world of difference between that and being a regular CL team though.....

Well I know of 3 season tickets that weren't renewed:( ...Most ST holders I know (mostly dads with kids) seem to have moaned about the price hike but then sucked it up and renewed anyway. So along with the JCL effect we've got to be looking at 20K I reckon....I think next season will be more interesting with regards to ST holders once the effect of back to back promotions and being new to the PL have worn off.

Actually the first post is why I we do hope we play Stockport and teams like them again....affordable and fun (at least it was to me) beats unaffordable and ......well I'll hold fire on how much fun the PL is until we've played a few games:)

Fair point...it's only a matter of time before big Andy pays back his fee in a shed load of goals though surely?

What about teams like everton and liverpool why haven't they just kept a third of the TV money each year for 10 years to give them a nice big wedge...
